This shop recently opened and still have their grand opening. The lady at the register was nice enough to chitchat and explained some of her wares. It was cool that she offers many Japanese trading cards (original) but we were looking for the English edition cards (they had none). There was a section not for sale but for looks with signs stating to speak to the owners regarding sales of that side. Odd. There were many cute plushies, stickers, figurines, wall posters and other merchandises. Took my time looking at each part of the shop. The wall posters were all the way in the back. The shop is a long narrow space with lots of lighting. Very cool spots for my fellow anime lovers.

It's cheaper than the brand name Jenga and it works just as well. It's fun. It's simplistic. It doesn't have complicated rules. You can make out in between doing it. So what is not to love. Upon opening it up and assembling it I was not impressed with the size and the shape of the pieces. Size...just look at one of the images I posted. The box indicates a much larger size than what is actually cut. Shape...the pieces are not cut clean nor do they fit together securely. Just based off this box I purchased I would not recommend or purchase another.

Kazumi has been my favorite manager for years--our encounters are always joyful--and today I also met Tamaki, who had a wonderful, welcoming presence. Normally my visits are a 9-10/10, but this time fell short due to Kaoru's behavior. After I politely declined a tray in the crystal section, she sucked her teeth and muttered something under her breath. Later at checkout, Kaoru -- a woman with a bob haircut) -- ignored my question until I repeated it, tossed my receipt at me, didn't bag my items, and walked away when I asked her name, telling me "it wasn't necessary". I also couldn't help but notice I was the only one who looked like me in the store at the time, which made the interaction feel targeted. This was especially disappointing because every other transaction I've had here has been handled with care. As a loyal, long-time customer, I hope Kaoru's attitude improves, because the warmth and professionalism I've consistently received from Kazumi and Tamaki are what make Toho Shoji such a special place.
