At $28 a cupcake (used to be $25 a few months back), Sift's prices are comparable to other cupcake stores. For example, Kisses Cupcakes sells 'standard' flavors at $25 and 'signature' flavors at $30. I've tried quite a few flavors at Sift, like their famed Red Velvet, Smores and Oreo. I love that their cupcakes are filled inside, so the cupcake is actually moist and not dry at all. The flavors aren't too sweet either, and the extremely smooth and creamy frosting on top complements the cake perfectly. It's hard to decide, but I would say my favorite flavor is the Red Velvet. My first time trying their Red Velvet cupcake was my first time trying anything that's Red Velvet flavor, so I wasn't sure what to expect. My friends told me that Red Velvet is basically chocolate, and it is - but so much better. I was skeptical of how cream cheese would taste good with chocolate, but the cream cheese frosting actually adds a really nice touch to the cupcake and kind of brings out its flavor. Even though Sift is known for its cupcakes, you shouldn't ignore their pastries! I've tried their lemon tart, and it's a perfect blend of tangy and sweet flavors. The lemon has a slight menthol taste to it, making it very refreshing. If you're a fan of cupcakes, Sift is a must-try - and if you're not a fan of cupcakes, doesn't matter because you will be after trying Sift!

The biggest sellers (or certainly the only thing I seem to buy from them) are their cupcakes with a variety of yummy icings. They do have other cakes and fancy bits; macaroons, cookies, cheesecakes, and pasties like mille feuilles and tarts, but its really the cupcakes that they excel in. The cupcakes are made with the finest ingredients including valrhona chocolate and french butter, and topped with some very inventive little icing swirls. My current favourites are banana foster, lemon meringue, toffee apple, and coconut. To be fair, they are not the cheapest things in the world at HKD28 each, but well worth every single lovely bite! I find them particularly useful for office birthdays, as you can get a bunch of different flavours. Just incase your boss hates chocolate (yep, bosses are mental). They also do a gluten free option. And as an added bonus, if you are far from home, they will provide ice packs to keep your cakes cool from the HK heat. However, I never find they last long enough for me to get them home!

They have the tasting cakes which I personally love because it's just enough. But they also carry the bigger cakes, i.e. 10 inch, etc. The cakes are beautifully decorated so they don't only appeal to taste but also to the eye. Such a perfect cake for bridal showers, baby showers, and other events. They do have the other Location of Ms. B's in Admiralty which has a cafe. (Of course I might need TWO portions of it). The infusion of Sake makes the salad all the more splendid. It's a great combination of good taste and healthy ingredients. The Cod is obviously the star ingredient .... it wasn't very flaky (as fish can be a bit flaky sometimes), and yet not very hard either. It had a slightly chewy consistency which I found just perfect ! And the Eggplant?... well...because of this salad I've started liking eggplant because I NEVER used to eat it before . Obviously, the reason is that the eggplant comes out as very tasty when combined with all these ingredients! (I still wouldn't eat eggplant if it's a part of any dish except for this salad!) Other ingredients such as sesame and spring onion lend a bit of crunchiness/nuttiness to the salad which is definitely a welcome addition. Ok, not really, but the good news is, Pie & Tart's pies and tarts did make me gasp a little when I put them in my mouth. I haven't tried every one of the flavours, and that will be one of my regrets as I leave Hong Kong. What I have tried though, have all been fantastic. There are a lot of places you can get snacks in Hong Kong, from street stalls that sell curry fish balls and egg waffles, to fancy high-tea style pastry places. However, I don't think there are a lot of places that sell something in between. Pie & Tart fills that space. Slightly fancy at a very reasonable price. They've got (obviously) a variety of pies and tarts, but they also sell bread and little cakes that pop out of the oven multiple times a day. They're a small business with some absolutely lovely people and they draw you in with that irresistible smell of fresh-baked goods. Oh yeah, they know what they're doing. Of course, you can't just sell 3 types of pies and tarts and call it a day. There's a very impressive variety here that will satisfy any type of craving at a very reasonable price. The most affordable is HKD $7.5 for a buttery fresh milk tart. A couple dollars more will get you anything from a savoury curry beef tart to a sweet apple tart. If you're adventurous, they've got cheesy seafood tarts, pizza tarts, ostrich tarts, and very eye-catching purple ube tarts. I've only tried the milk, curry beef, and ube tarts. The first two were fantastic and the last one had an unexpected purple custard filling and a very soft sweet potato flavour. I can only imagine the rest are just as good as the ones I've tried. Consistently, the pastries are generously sized, flaky/buttery depending on the tart's intent, and filled with delicious ingredients. The Pie & Tart in Causeway Bay is currently the only one on the Island side. The rest of the franchise shops are spread across Kowloon. This branch is small, but efficient. You can call in to order and pay when you pick up the goods, or you can do it through their online site. I've bought tarts individually and in a large order through the phone and I have been a satisfied customer 100% of the time. If you're in HK, get your butt to a Pie & Tart. Who can resist fresh baked pastries anyway? And fresh baked pastries of this size and quality at prices like these? It really doesn't get any better.
