Wows all around! I love this place. I came here with a friend to celebrate an engagement and it was the perfect restaurant. I loved the unique flavor and texture combinations, and the presentation. This chef knows his stuff! I loved that it was clearly family run and everyone was so friendly. Families and kids were welcome and I felt comfortable there even though I was not dressed fancy at all. I will come here every time I visit Grass valley. Thank you for the wonderful experience!

Always the best, most imaginative and well presented food in the county. Chef makes fabulous meals of local and seasonal produce and his family and staff make the entire meal a treat from entry to exit. The service here is so attentive and unobtrusive, always my favorite. Dessert was killer good, we shared the Crepe Cake, holy cow, so good! Look at this masterpiece, fall flavored crepes stacked, with apple compote, cream and caramel, I could eat it everyday. Thank you!

Thanks to Crystal and Michael for making out 45 Wedding Anniversary unforgettable!

Class Act here. The food is fine dining with a pleasant atmosphere. The menu and congratulation card was a special treat to help celebrate our 45th Wedding Anniversary! A shout out to Michael and Crystal for making this evening unforgettable!

OMG...Chef Zach hit it out of the park this evening, as did the entire staff! Jen, our server, was beyond spectacular! The food was absolutely delicious, especially the Wagyu steak with truffle gravy and garlic mashed potatoes....beyond delectable, and everything was perfectly cooked. We loved Zach's father, Michael's jokes! Can't wait to see y'all again soon! Thanks for a delightful Christmas Eve dinner! We adore you! And thank you for accommodating our seating request. Oh, and Allie, thank you for the box of cookies you and your mother made. You truly are national treasures!

This is a fun balance of higher end dining and multi regional creativity that we really enjoyed. Food: The food was delectable. We did two raw bar items, a starter and our mains. We were very hungry, so it was the perfect amount. They have a super curated wine list, and we got a Pinot Noir from Santa Maria Valley that was excellent. The short rib poutine was SO amazing and I loved my duck. Ambiance: Great, cozy vibe with lot of brick. Bustling but not too loud. We were kind of tucked at a table without a ton of room around it, so that was a little awkward to wiggle into. But overall, if you're in Nevada City, this is definitely where you want to go for a special dinner!

Both meals were cooked to perfection with a delicious sauce that should accompany each dish . 10/10 for me on both dishes, it would be hard to pick a favorite but I'd have to order the stroganoff again on my next visit ..... too good!! Both meals came with a delicious side salad - blue cheese dressing was house made and yummy! Fresh bread, two different kinds , both were spot on . We called right away, and while the employee apologized and admitted it was their mistake, the only solution offered was to "take it off the bill." That doesn't really help when you've already driven 30 minutes home and now have an incomplete meal. Mistakes happen, but how they're handled matters. Offering a refund doesn't fix the inconvenience, the time lost, or the fact that part of our dinner was missing. A better effort to make it right would have gone a long way. We didn't just lose money...We lost time, convenience, and part of your meal. A manager should have gotten on the phone and said something like, 'I'm really sorry, we messed up. Let me fix this for you.' A sincere effort to problem-solve, not just a refund. Really hoping more attention is paid to orders moving forward.

But how could I know that experience (and the service!! OMG the service!!!) was going to be so outstanding, that I would come back again the next evening to eat again?? The first night it was happy hour, with a spicy jalapeño mule, buffalo cauliflower, smoked Brussel sprouts, and a couple of beers. But the service was so attentive (almost too attentive) that we felt like we had to watch for gaps so we could take a bite or a sip in between folks checking in to see if we needed more food, more refills, or just a friendly hello! The next night was burgers, and brews, and bloody Marys - and again, the most amazing thoughtful, interactive and attentive service I have ever seen! And being a business owner, I can tell you that it's not enough to have a beautiful setting on the river with great views and a decent menu. Having servers, managers, bartenders (hell even the bussers had smiles and were polite and friendly) absolutely seals the deal. I really have no reason to go back to to El Dorado Hills in the near future other than work, but because of this single restaurant experience, I can tell you I am trying to find more reasons to return!
