After getting a very high quote from a major plumbing chain, we decided to contact Water Heater…read moreMasters. We had an absolutely fantastic experience with Water Heater Masters. Alex sent our technician, Rojo, who helped install a new 40-gallon gas water heater in our indoor utility closet, and he was incredibly diligent, professional, and efficient from start to finish. Installing a tank in an inside closet can be tricky, but Rojo handled the entire job seamlessly in just 2 hours. He replaced everything with high-quality components, including: * New hot and cold water flex lines * A brand new water shut-off valve * A new gas flex line and sediment trap * Fully reworked earthquake straps (to meet California safety codes) * Properly updated T&P line and venting He also took care of the removal and disposal of our heavy 18 yr old tank, leaving the utility closet completely clean. If you want fair pricing, expert specialized service, and a technician who respects your time and home, call Water Heater Masters and ask for Rojo. Highly recommended!

We were replacing a gas water heater with a hybrid electric heat pump water heater. Generally, this…read moretype of heater costs twice as much (price and installation) as a traditional electric water heater, but costs a lot less to run (and therefore you recoup the additional cost in a few years from lower operating costs). I had a very easy experience getting an on-site quote. I received 3 quotes for this job. 2 quotes, including this one, came in around $7100. I went with a third one at around $6700 (which included an additional mixing valve) and am very happy with my decision. Overall price was not a big part of my decision, but brand of water heater was. After doing some research online, the most recommended brands are AO Smith and Rheem (GE). Both higher quotes were for Navien, which has only been making heat pump water heaters for 1 year, but I was told that it is the most reliable brand. I did not understand how this claim could be made, given how short the duration of evaluation for this product. Even the worst appliances usually work for at least a year. So I requested a quote for AO Smith or Rheem, which I did not get. I'm not sure why my brand request was not honored, but it made me question whether I should go with a company that either has communication issues or maybe some type of deal with Navien that I was not informed about. Many water heater installers are preferred installers of certain brands, which means they can get better pricing, etc. I did not want to be a guinea pig for Navien.

A-1 answered every question confidently, corrected a spec error in their own quote when I caught it, and put everything in writing before I signed. Install day: Austin, Joey, and Edgar showed up on time. Floors covered, shoes covered, house treated well. Two days -- day one removal and new equipment, day two ductwork and zoning. Heating and cooling tested before they left. Full documentation handed over on the spot. No hidden charges, no surprises, no change orders. Price was mid-range among four quotes, but the warranty structure -- lifetime workmanship, no-lemon guarantee, payment at completion -- made it the best overall package. Still have HERS test-out and city inspection scheduled, but based on every step of this process I'd recommend A-1 without hesitation. Austin, Joey, and Edgar did a great job.

This time, though, I absolutely hit the jackpot, and I have to give credit where it's due. Sergio is everything you hope for but rarely find--honest, knowledgeable, and genuinely committed to doing right by his customers. After seeing so many glowing reviews, I decided to give his company a call, and I'm so glad I did. He answered immediately and, by sheer luck, was already working nearby, so he stopped by to check out my leaky kitchen sink. He took the time to walk through the issue with me, even having me recreate what I thought was causing the problem (of course, it didn't happen while he was there!). When I called my husband to explain, Sergio patiently listened, assessed the situation, and confidently reassured him that everything was resolved. My husband was skeptical, but Sergio stood by his expertise so firmly that he was willing to back it up--promising to return if anything came up. That kind of confidence and accountability is rare. Then came the part that truly impressed me--when I asked about the cost, he told me there was no charge. I couldn't believe it. It's not just his skill that stands out--it's his integrity, fairness, and the way he treats people. In a time where that can feel hard to come by, Sergio is a reminder that true professionalism still exists. If you're looking for someone dependable, straightforward, and exceptionally good at what they do, Sergio is the one to call. Don't think twice--you'll be in great hands.
