The SEC ultimately took Joseph Collins to federal court seeking $1.6 million judgment that included the funds the company had raised, plus penalties and interest. Despite facing the full force and weight of the federal government, Joseph did not back down. He fought the charges for years, spending thousands on legal fees. But by last spring, he ran out of money. As a result, he lost his legal representation. The SEC quickly moved to have the case terminated with a summary judgment that would have given the government a quick win without a trial. Without counsel, Joseph had little recourse. By December 2023, the judge in the case was prepared to rule in favor of the SEC, a move that would have bankrupted Joseph and his company with no input from Punch TV's investors regarding the best use of their investment. The only response that I received from them is that if I pay them $18,000 for their investigation fees they will give me my license back.. If they did an investigation then they would have spoken to me to see all of my proof. Why is it that I would qualify for my license back only because I give them money? If I was really a bad contractor then why would they offer to give it back to me if I pay them money?? This is very fraudulent. I have been trying to talk to them and send them proof for 25 years. I'm done with them.... For the general publics info, I have seen more work done wrong then right especially from licensed contractors. Feel free to hire unlicensed contractors as long as you have verifiable references. A contractor's license is only a license to steal money from consumers. Always get at least 3 estimates and go see some of their work.. If they show you pictures it doesn't mean that they are showing you pictures of their own work...
