I just had the nastiest customer service experience with this store I think I've ever had…read more I saw online that they sell Fermob bistro tables and chairs which a client of mine is looking for. I was reviewing the online listing, trying to gather pertinent info to share with the client - ie cost, colors, availability, shipping time in transit so they could make an informed decision. The shipping time wasn't listed online but I saw they had a customer service chat function. I sent my question on shipping time and waited a minute for someone to connect. They sent "?????" and "are you there?" right when they connected. Weird. I wrote back hello and they said they needed to know what color to answer. I shared the potential color. They said it was in stock, goes out within week of the order, and ships fedex. I asked how long it would be expected to take in transit. (This was my question initially). They said they don't make any promises. I said is there an estimation... 2 weeks, 5 months, roughly what should we plan for? They then wrote "why would you say that when I just said one week?" But as you recall, I was told after ordering, they ship out within one week. They never said the timing in transit. Then they disconnected. I was dumbfounded! Needless to say I absolutely will not recommend my client orders from Bon Marche. Hope this customer service person has the day they deserve.

Defective items and threatening customer service. This vendor shipped me a defective table, and…read morewhen I sent evidence was told "send us pictures so we can file a claim on your behalf, otherwise we cannot proceed." This does not follow US trade law, where regardless of a claim or not they are responsible for non-defective items. When I reminded them of their responsibility and graciously laid out options, including sending back for a normal return, they called me at SEVEN PM at night to threaten me and my family like thugs. I cannot get over the disgusting behavior of such thugs, this store is like a criminal enterprise. They may just get defective merchandise from Bon Marche and try to pawn it off onto customers who do not know better. Avoid this vendor at all costs - they don't even provide a price advantage vs. the Fermob website, or even Pottery Barn. I tried to support a small business - however an attempted scam and criminal behavior is what I was rewarded with. I may have to file a restraining order against their bizarre and undignified customer service representative, Jean Phillipe. Don't waste time, just buy from Fermob directly.

As other reviewers have said, it's a small shop packed to the gills with beads and related items. Much of the stock is indeed behind glass so you have to ask for assistance. That makes the store less fun for the casual browser or if you want to handle things before buying. However, I think all the glass cases are understandable as much of their stock is vintage and/or valuable. The one staff person there was able to help me find what I wanted, even showing me a couple of different options. I bought a number of beads and went away happy.

On our first day here, we had to stop by Malouf on the Plaza, a stunning retail store that's been there for over 10 years now. It's a luxury apparel and accessory shop, that, simple put, has an exquisite inventory. Native American jewelry, a wide variety of turquoise, gold and diamond jewelry, leather goods, men's and women's clothing, etc. Great quality, and reasonable prices. Without question, one of the best shops on the plaza! Jesse is our go-to sales rep there. She knows her stuff, and is such a pleasure to work with. We didn't buy anything this time (a first I think), but it was a great visit and so fun to browse while chatting with Jesse. Ask for her if you get a chance to stop by... highly recommend a visit to Malouf on the Plaza!

I purchased a painting by Deborah Stein here, and was beyond excited to have it shipped back home to NY when the show was over. This was my first fine art purchase and a significant sum for me in what I saw as a lifelong home investment. I gave my cell phone, home address, and email and checked constantly for updates. After a month I called LDBA who said they had shipped the painting via USPS but "forgot to email and send a tracking number because the team was on vacation in Europe". I was stunned by the lack of communication and responsibility and in the end the package never arrived as LDBA had marked it as ok to leave outside the apartment building without a signature... in New York city. Apparently the package was left in the street, but I was never made aware it was even sent. I lost over 700 dollars, was not offered a refund, store credit, or even really an apology acknowledging the error on LDBA's part. I used to love this store, but I cannot recommend anyone shop here for a serious purchase. Beyond disappointed.
