I love this place! I've been here a few times now and it's always a wonderful stay. I've stayed in…read morethe room closest to the bay on the right, the front left room and one of the upstairs room. I can never remember the names but they've all been good. The only thing I'll say though Is if sound bothers you, you should stay upstairs as it's quieter during the evening/night. Recently, they've repainted the exterior and are now a turquoise color. You get access to the bay from the attached dock and they have a few things for rental like kayaks, canoes, bikes. They also have a hot tub but people hop in early so it's always full Parking lot is small so basically 1 car/room Wendy is wonderful & so is Shay who comes to help when it's full. This past visit they made us quiche one day and waffles another and both meals were delicious and plenty of food to be full from. They also do coffee, orange juice and fruit water in the morning They have a communal microwave and dishware to use and rooms get their own little fridge They have access to the beach across the street and there's a convenience store across the street too. A few restaurants close by but port st Joe is a small and quiet town so the beach isn't crowded hardly ever You can go catch scallops during the late summer, if I recall and it gets pretty busy then Lots of locals eating at the same restaurants in the area so don't expect 5 star dining but the food is pretty good and seafood is fresh in the area Small park nearby as well and lots of seashells

A beautiful Hidden Gem! Gotta check it out if you are ever in the area. Absolutely gorgeous place…read moreto visit

Unfortunately, our experience was not like other reviews. We had Bedbugs. (Photos and video below.)…read moreWe were moved to a different Bungalow, but the staff didn't seem concerned with the issue at all. In fact, no one even apologized for our nightmare or offered to assist us, besides moving our luggage. If you have ever been faced with Bedbugs (this was our very first experience) then you will know the nightmare that we had, and are still going through 5 weeks post vacation.) Bedbugs aside, this place is disappointing to say the least. The website states "luxury vacation". This place has ZERO luxury. It is best described as rustic camping on the beach on an island. No restaurants, no bars, barely any staff, FILTHY rooms! (After we were reassigned a new bungalow, I spent 8 hours cleaning it.) The owner asked why we stayed if our experience was so bad. Let's remember that we are on an Island!!! We took a plane, and then It took us 6 hours to get there by boat! We don't have a car, and we don't have anywhere else to go! We didn't have a lot of options being part of a group. Also worth noting, the bungalow that we were reassigned to didn't even have running water in one of the bathrooms. We were told that this is a common problem on the island and nothing can be done! So we all had to share one small bathroom!!! For $850 night, we expected running water and clean rooms. After a 4 week battle we were refunded half of our money. That means the other half of our money went to pay for a filthy bungalow and one non usable master bathroom. So if you want a rustic beach vacation with no amenities, little staff, a dirty rental, and bedbugs, then this is the vacation spot for you! Just remember to bring your own cleaning supplies!

We were able to fish, boat to anywhere we wanted to go and hang by the pool. The only way to get there is by boat or helicopter which makes it feel very private and relaxing. It's very close to Port St. Joe. The rooms are well equipped with a full kitchen. Perfect for two couples or families.

I booked this through Expedia... no issues there....I thought until I get an email from someone…read moresaying they're from Coons which was spelled wrong because wanting everything I gave Expedia and then through the 4 stage process it wanted you to dnload a process to enable your phone to unlock the house door, ice room door. I was worried this was a scam so I ignored it after pondering over it. A fellow friend never got this request like I did so that reassured me ignoring it was best. We ended up it two separate homes a block apart which was fine I stayed in the home on 5th Street for 2 nights. It was on the second floor and very clean. The bed and linen were all clean and comfortable. My biggest gripe is the water supply. The odor of sulphur rotten eggs was so strong I was not going drink it. I was already stuck in the shower with it stinking up the room for one night. It was only smelling from the hot water side. Why would they think that's okay with anyone is crazy. I did like the location and convenience of restaurants and gas stations. These homes had such beautiful woodwork and a lot of character!! Fix the water smell for house on 5th Street and quit trying to confuse customers about picking up key from another location and downloading some app to open doors. Also have a key drop-off box if you're not going to be there by 7:00 AM. All in all I did like the stay and the gentleman at 329 water street was very friendly.

We had the King Suite with a balcony, that we sat on drinking wine and enjoying the salty air. The decor is beautiful! The walls are covered with beautiful art work consisting of beach landscapes. The owner, Sandy, was very friendly. We received a map of the surrounding area as well as restaurant recommendations upon arrival. Apparently, the Inn also hosts weddings (we could see the pretty gazebo out of our window, surrounded by flowers). There were lots of yummy baked goods, and Sandy even prepared a plate of pumpkin bread and cinnamin rolls for us, as we were checking out. This felt like a home away from home. You cannot find anything close to the value in Apalachicola that you will find at Witherspoon Inn!
