Our suite had a balcony overlooking the water and we sat out there until the wee hours of the morning talking, laughing and enjoying the beauty of this area. The next morning she was up with a cup of coffee sitting outside totally relaxed. We visited for a while and when I said we needed to pack up she was so disappointed. We were headed over to Destin but I think we could have just stayed here and had a great time. I totally recommend this for anyone who wants a unique experience.

You are required to sit on the patio. You may not take the dog into check-in, you may not take the dog in to order dinner... Or get a drink... You have to tie your dog up outside if you're alone... And walk in and ask for somebody to please help you. It is made very clear and I understand that it's summer and it's hot but no one wants to come outside and help you. It's not that they're rude. They're just unwilling. The rooms are tiny, but I was put in the decoration is cute. I'm still waiting on review the dinner. Overall overpriced under delivered if you're going to express yourself as a designer dog friendly to owners and pets please acquire a staff that is accommodating to the owner and the pet. I respect that the Inn is historical and would like to preserve the originality and presentation. However, if you're going to offer ,again, dog friendly services, please designated staff member to take care of those people who are traveling with their dogs who are forced to sit outside in the heat so as to expedite their experience and make it easier for wait staff and patron. Just a note I paid $400 to stay here to enjoy the historical part of Apalachicola. Thank you Gibson inn for providing a beautiful place to stay in a bit of history that is no longer present in Florida. Definitely overall not worth what they charge. The hotel is at the end of a street, a bit secluded, and definitely peaceful. You are one to two blocks from three restaurants, and about 6 blocks from downtown Apalachicola, a very pleasant walk. And if you have Kids, Apalachicola is very flat, and children can safely ride their bicycles from this property to the restaurants (With your supervision, of course).

No time to ponder that as a very large palmetto bug runs across the wall next to me. I'm phobic about those roaches but finally managed to dispatch it with my shoe. Some of it may still be in the rug with who knows what else. My wife takes a shower and the water stinks to high heavens of sulphur, or something like it. She freaks out but I tell her that in some areas water can have an oder. We brush our teeth, next morning brush our teeth again and wash up, water still smells to high heavens. We go to lobby for breakfast (arrive at 9:31 am per my iPhone), breakfast closes at 9:30 so out of luck there. My wife mentions the awful smell to the two clerks on duty. They ask, weren't you told about the water? No. They show us a bulletin from the city warning people NOT TO USE THE WATER unless you boil it for a full minute. Including not to brush your teeth. First we heard of this, night clerk failed to advise us. But why aren't notices out in rooms? Why not give us bottled water? How are we to shower or brush our teeth? And we were charged full fare. We both had stomach and intestinal issues for the next two days. So no, I don't recommend this place.
