Random golf course pic from turtle bay; tee boxes fairways and greens
Adrian T.

The Palmer course should be a gem, but its not being maintained well, there is bull-grass and crabgrass around the green in in some of the tee boxes. I've played other resort courses and this doesn't get a b for condition of the course . Took a couple of pictures of the greens tee boxes and 18th fairway.

Great views

Golfing as a single..asked for back 9. Denied. 3 4somes and a two some in front where the lady shot 70 after 7 holes. In Wisconsin it's a $70 course max.. $200 for 9 holes and 2 hours after 7 holes.. Drove off the course.. came on vacation to get a heart attack.. I guess Hang Loose on Hawaii means that for golf also.. Scenery and greens was 10 for 10, wind was steady but fair.

A bit disappointed with this course - it's pretty mediocre by Hawaii standard. I was imaging more ocean view with it on the tip of north shore but you only have that on hole 17. The view on other holes otherwise was nothing to write home about. If you're staying at the resort it's worth going for the convenience, otherwise you can find way better view at courses in the same price range elsewhere on the island. It's also a long drive from town.

Come on now, this is Turtle Bay's golf course, one of the most gorgeous and well-kept golf courses on Oahu! It's about an hour's drive from town up to Turtle Bay resort. Once you arrive, park near the check-in entrance and drop off your clubs and then go park your car. Trust me, it's much better than lugging your clubs across the parking lot. Check-in and go grab your cart from the friendly staff. Drive your cart up to where you left your clubs and bam! You're off to this insanely beautiful view of the course. The 1st hole required you to go through a round tunnel, stay left on the path and you'll reach the tunnel in no time. The carts are equipped with beautiful GPS, plenty of information and even tells you if you're behind and to hurry your okole up. A few times throughout the course, a food/drink cart comes to you offering you goodies. The sandwiches look yummy but we didn't get any as we ate already. Anywho, be a good human and fix your own ball mark and at least one other during the course. The bunkers are deadly, don't get in there or you'll be digging yourself to China. Cheers!

My friends and I booked a foursome at the Turtle Bay Golf Club on a weekday morning and it was a gorgeous day. We experienced a rare windless day in the Kahuku area. Two of us checked in a little early so we went to the practice range to wait for our other players. It is a 5 minute drive on a golf cart to get to the practice area and the first tee so pay attention to the instructions on how to get there when you check in. Only the Arnold Palmer course is open with no maintenance is being done on the Defazio course for some reason. The practice area includes the driving range, a chipping range, a chipping green and a putting green. The course is beautiful and the fairways were pretty smooth. It was a special place to spend time with good friend in a beautiful environment, it doesn't get better than that. You have somer nice views of the ocean on some holes and forests surrounding the course. It was a bit pricey, $85, but then again we don't come out this far very often.

Went to redeem our last "free" round of golf under our Turtle Bay Hana Hou Membership. The sales clerk told us about the Hana Hou Plus upgrade. For $50 we would get 2 more free rounds. Usually it's $65/round prime time at Palmer. We bought 3 upgrades ($50 each) and 1 new Hana Hou Plus membership ($200). I complimented the clerk on being good at upselling. It was pretty busy on the course. Grass was kinda soggy and muddy in some of the low areas and water in some sand traps. But the fairways, greens & tee boxes were still primo condition. Beverage cart lady was at 4th and 10th hole. By far one of the best courses on Oahu I have played, but I have yet to play Koolau. The one bummer thing about Turtle Bay is fighting the traffic getting home every time. it took us almost 2 hours to get home because there was a crash on Kunia road just above Walmart, which sucked because we were almost home. So we had to turn around at Hawaii Country Club and go all the way back up Wahiawa to H2 and to Ewa.

Weather did not permit us to golf on Friday. Luckily our weekend stay at Turtle Bay allowed us to use the voucher on Monday before we left. The weekend was rainy causing a cart path only day. I've been to almost all golf courses on the island and I must say Palmer Course is by far 4-Star Amazing. Staff was on point and the course had some amazing picture moment shots. Over the water, one of my favorite ones and hole overloOking the water definitely breathtaking. Will book again on our next stay

This review is for the Fazio course at Turtle Bay. This is one of my favorite courses on the island. Here's why, the greens are very consistent and well-maintained. The fairways are mowed and cared for. During the week and even on holidays, there is rarely a rush to play, and you can take your time with your shots. The price is great, at $60 for locals, which comes with a golf cart. There is a free driving range, that gives you the opportunity to warm up before you around. There is a chipping green which is well taken care of, and a putting green also will taken care of. The only downside is that some of the bunkers are regular sand, others are as hard as a rock. That's about the only negative for this entire course. The wind will make it a little more challenging, but this is not an easy course. There's one hole with 22 bunkers! The snack shop has a plate lunch for $14, and an excellent burger for 16. Beers from the cart are $5. This is just a great course!

I only had to pay $16 to play here (that is the Kama'ina--or "local person"-- rate). So...They say…read morein life, "You get what you pay for..." (sudden dramatic pause). I bet, at this point, you are thinking, "That lead-in makes it sound like this guy about to write a really negative review... and I bet he is about to mercilessly criticize Kahuku." But hold-on there, reader!!! ...let me finish. So, like I said, they say, "In life, You get what you pay for"... but sometimes an experience transcends the moment. And sometimes, (dramatic pause)...when the stars align just right, something that you pay for ends up being worth a thousand times more than what you pull out of your wallet. Golfing at Kahuku, *if you go with the right mind-set, has high potential to one of those times. I don't think Yelp allows swear words, so I shall substitute the English language word that we often use to emphasize how much we like (or hate) something with another word. The word that will be used is the Hawaiian word, "moekolohe" and it has similar meaning to our beloved "f-bomb", but is not as crass. I liked playing at Kahuku so-moekolohe much! Here are my moekoleohe reasons! 1. The setting: this place is nestled between the shores of the Pacific and the Northern-most part of the Ko'olau mountain range. It is so moekolohe beautiful here. 2. The staff is wonderful. I called the course the day before I played and the young lady who answered the phone was exceptionally pleasant. She had a warmth that came through the phone lines, and I here-by nominate her as the poster-girl for the Aloha spirit that the islands are known for. The elderly-ish gentleman who was working the pro shop when I arrived the next morning, was also great. Both emplyees spoke articulately, but a "splash" of the local pidgin dialect occasionally slipped out in as they talked (*kinda like how the "southern drawn" can be heard if one travels to that part of the US). I loved it and immediately feel a delight and warmth for the speakers when I hear it. 3. Old school charm--the pro shop is set up in a beat-up old trailer, the course a little "rough and ready". It is a classic links-style course--which follows the natural landscapes of the coast. It was windy--no surprise as it is right on the ocean. The fairways are far from lush (but in their defense, I played here at the end of a long hot summer, and the course was more than ready for and in much need of the upcoming rainy season). And finally, the putting surfaces were not perfect and probably are the reason I missed a few putts (yeah, that's the reason I missed those putts...not because 3 or 4 three-putts are what I usually do per round. yeah, it was the putting surface). 4. The players that I interacted with were super friendly and charming. It is a 9-hole walking course and players can be seen pushing their clubs over hill and dale. The players that I was around on this day extended respect and numerous courtesies, such as: allowing faster players to move past, two guys stopped playing and helped me find a slightly errant ball when it rolled onto their adjacent fairway. All that I saw made their way around the course at a, "steady-paced ready-golf " style of play. When a storm rolled in and it forced everyone to stop play (it was really coming down for about 15 minutes), I found shelter under some trees where an elderly Japanese business man and his son and I commiserated in the gail. But I was loving every minute of it. My words are not flowing very well and I feel that my command of the English Language is failing me....I had hoped to share that I found this place utterly charming and an extreme joy to experience, but upon re-reading what I have typed out so far, I kinda feel like I am not able to find the words to describe how much joy I felt from coming here. (everytime I come back to the islands, someone has suggested that I give this place a try). Let's just say that I don't think that there are too many places like this left in the golf world, but I do know that Kahuku has a charm that is unique and special. So... If you find yourself on Oahu and you happen to like golf... then get your moekolohe-butt out here and soak in something that will be memorable and unique--as well as something to tell your golf buddies about back home on the mainland (or if you are local and have not tried this place, what the moekolohe are you waiting for?

I wish I could say it was great. The ocean background is beautiful but the course has no grass…read more Most of the greens had sprinklers going so you got wet or picked up your ball. Won't ever go back again.

They were running a special for $225/player (normally $275) with a 10-day advanced booking. They need a credit card to hold the reservation and you pay upon arrival. We had a 10:50 tee time and everything ran on time and check-in was smooth. Once checked-in, you'll present your receipt to the staffer who will give you a small bucket of balls. They took our clubs at the parking lot stand and placed the clubs on our cart. We grabbed a few clubs and walked over to the grass range, which was in decent shape. The course is great for all skill levels because it's pretty wide open and very well manicured. The rough is cut down pretty low so even if you miss the fairway, you still gotta shot at it. Playing the blues, the course is pretty long but manageable. The greens were in great shape and bunkers were great looking, although luckily I didn't have to play out of any of them. While it's a well maintained course, I thought the layout was kinda boring and predictable. Lots of good views and photo ops around the course, although the course has minimal ocean views. We had some vouchers from our hotel which we could use at the pro shop but not the snack bar. We ended up with a couple of bag tags, ball markers and a logo ball (gift set) which they engrave your name in the bag tag which is pretty cool for $20 for everything. The rest of the pro shop is pretty pricey though. Overall, glad we got to play it. I think the price point is what would keep me from playing again, but it's hard to beat when it's less than 5 minutes from our hotel. We got paired with a great couple, shout out Chuck and Cindy who were also visiting. It made for a memorable and fun day out on the course.

This is a review of the golf course restaurant…read more This is a wonderful lunch place even for the non-golfer like me! The staff is very friendly and helpful with menu selections. On the day I went, they didn't have French fries as an option that is listed on the menu. If I recall, that was the case several months ago when I went there. But not to be at all disappointed when I was given a really delicious mixed green salad with fresh strawberry slices and craisins with a very yummy salad dressing. It was the more nutritious choice, so even though it was my plan B, it'll be my plan A option next time! Back to my entree. I had the loco moco. It came with a generous hand-made burger with brown gravy and a scoop of brown/white rice. The sunny side egg was perfectly cooked. I had some of the fish sandwich too. It was just as delicious as the last 2 times I got it. The fish was a thick slice that was lightly egg battered. The brioch bun was so soft and tasty. I loved that there was tomato and lettuce on it. A deluxe fish sandwich! I really like it! They were setting up for a private event with cloth covered chairs. Maybe a good idea to look into that for a future event. The restaurant is set up with a few chairs, a side room that was set up with long tables with chairs, and there's a bar with several bar stools. I've not ever seen the bar empty.
