While most people have had a good experience with TJM, including myself when my father passed in 1987, this was not my experience when my mother passed in 2024. The funeral director we worked with said that the cremation could not be done until the insurance assignment had been verified. What he meant was, until payment had been received. The initial claim form TJM completed was inaccurate, as it did not show the cause of death to be an accident, although it was listed as an accident on the death certificate that they had. Had I not corrected that, it would have cost our family a good deal of money. The insurance company verified that it was assignable, and assignment forms were provided to TJM, yet it took 28 days to get my mother cremated, and only then after I paid the expenses myself in order to expedite her service. As if that wasn't bad enough, when she was finally laid to rest, I was told that we were due a $200 refund, which I had to ask about a week later before the credit was processed. But the worst was that the same day I paid for her services in full, TJM filed the claim with our insurance company, and insurance paid them for the services I already paid for. Getting this refunded from TJM was like pulling teeth, with multiple requests and finally a not-so-patient demand from me after nearly 3 weeks of waiting. The check was not mailed when stated, it was not mailed with a signature required as stated, and it seemed like this just was not a priority to them. Very poor business practices on their part. And the worst yet? When the credit finally was issued back to my credit card, the funeral director sent me an email with a copy of the receipt, and not one single word. No apology for the delay, no explanation, nothing. Losing your mother is one of the most difficult things a person can go through, but to be treated in this manner afterwards is inexcusable. Things can happen, things go wrong, but it's how you deal with it as a business that means the most. My family and myself were treated like we didn't matter, and I will not be able to recommend TJM to anyone in the future. read more

Wow what can I say. My husband and I were completely blown away by this place. Especially Myron. He made my father in laws funeral planning so seamless, and accommodated our every request. Planning the entire thing ourselves, we literally had no idea what to expect. The grounds are beautiful and you can tell they really care with the upkeep. I need to say that Turrentine Jackson Morrow did just a fantastic job last weekend during this very unsettling time. n Because of Covid 19 we were unsure that we could even have a service but because they were able to provide us with a location to gather it really gave us a great deal of comfort to have a small group to mourn the death of our beloved. They were first class all the way. The chapel was beautiful, there were sanitation stations at every turn, they were so very respectful that I cannot say enough kind words about them. How do you thank someone who comforted you during the hardest moment in life. I lost my mother, and had to call a funeral home for arrangements. I called Turrentine and they sent out our Angel, Curtis Proctor. He walked into my home and acknowledged me with the most sincere condolences. He was soft spoken and professional in a way that was very reassuring. The respect he gave my mother was so very comforting. The next day at the funeral home, Mr. Curtis Proctor was the same professional, caring man and so understanding when I wasnt thinking clearly. The entire staff was professional, respectful and caring which gave us confirmation we had made the right choice for Mom. Thank you Curtis Proctor for making this experience so easy and allowing us to have peace that Mom was handled with care, dignity, and compassion and for giving us that one last final time with her. Had a service with them for my mother Dorothy Milhorn on January 13, 2015. Had many issues with them. First off they had the obituary wrong several times. We had to called them at least 5 times to get it correct and posted correctly online on their website. We even had family calling us saying it was wrong. The day of the service the preacher was given the wrong information it was what they had written for the obituary they wrote the first time which was wrong. On the day of visitation her make up was wrong it was too dark and we had to ask them twice to redo it. Also the wrong flowers were delivered we ended up with someone else's arrangement.
