Alex cleaned the inside of my refrigerator (which I had not cleaned in about seven years) from top to bottom. She also removed all of the dirt and dust from my front door and security door. She cleaned my blinds and windows. She used her vacuum to remove the dust from my couch. She also removed the dust from lots of objects around the house, such as vacuum cleaners, travel bags, lamps, etc. Living in a dust-free house is priceless, and Alex's cleaning services represent a tremendous value. Let's start at the beginning- I placed a quote request online on a Saturday for a full-house deep clean- my husband and I were moving into a new home we are renting, and unfortunately the landlord did not clean the house once it was empty. Alejandro responded to my request the next day- on a Sunday! I was so impressed with the timely response, and with the reviews that had been posted so far, that I chose to book our cleaning with So Shiny- I was scheduled for the following Wednesday. Since I was having this done before we had our furniture delivered, I mentioned to Alejandro some of the specific things I wanted to make sure were cleaned- like the inside and outside of the cabinets, all the doors inside of the house that had marks on them, inside and outside of the kitchen appliances, etc. He assured me those things would be completed. When the cleaners arrived (two ladies), I was so excited- they seemed to understand what I wanted and were eager to get to work right away. I left the house to run an errand, and when I got back, they told me they were ready to leave. I did a quick run through of the house- the wood floors had been swept and mopped, and the carpet had been vacuumed, but other than that, it did not seem that anything had been done. The fireplace mantle was still dusty, my stairs had not been swept, my cabinets looked as dirty as before, the kitchen appliances did not appear to have been cleaned, and the kitchen countertops still had spots that were sticky and dusty. I asked if they had cleaned the countertops- they assured me they had (I doubt they had, but were trying to save face with me). I pointed out how unclean they were and showed them how dirty the appliances still were, so they started working on those things. I also pointed out the cabinets and the doors inside the house- the one girl acted like she understood and cleaned the spots off of one of the doors upstairs, but left the rest uncleaned. I swept my own stairs while the ladies were working on the kitchen cabinets. They took care of some of the specific items I pointed out, but were very clearly getting tired and wanting to leave. They were sweet ladies and I felt so bad having to point out what they didn't do, but the cleaning that I received was a basic fluff and buff- not the deep-clean I understood I would be receiving, and unfortunately not at all worth what I paid. After they left, I texted Alejandro about the situation. He was very apologetic and asked for any suggestions I had for the future, and did what he could to make it right. He redeemed a bit of my experience- but sadly, I cannot say I would ever recommend So Shiny to anyone else. I suppose I was expecting more from an approved medical cleaning company, as they state they are.

They came, did a professional assessment, quoted us reasonably and started the next week. I told her my focus points which were my bathrooms, kitchen, and dusting and wiping down my inside windows. She was transparent with me about one of my showers having mold in the caulking that was difficult to remove and I Understood. I think she did a good job overall but I wouldn't call this a deep cleaning in my opinion. I think if you really want a deep cleaning you need at least 2 people. I think I paid $175 and tipped her $40 as well and I do feel like it was a fair price for the cleaning that was done. I was really hoping baseboards, cabinets, and fridge doors would be wiped down. She did a good job in my bathrooms and oven was clean inside as well but not my microwave. Don't expect them to sweep or vacuumed under furniture tho.
