Years ago, this church was known as Family Church when Pastor Dave Ansell was leading. Back then, it truly felt like a family church in every sense of the word. Life took me in a different direction, and over time my faith drifted. Recently, I've been searching again, and that Sunday felt like it mattered. It felt like the day I was supposed to come back. We arrived excited, as a family, ready to worship together. As we walked in, I considered checking our kids in, but my younger children have never really been away from their mother and were not ready. Instead of forcing them, we made the decision to stay together as a family and attend service. That's when things immediately felt off. We were directed away from the main auditorium and told to go upstairs into a separate room to watch the service on a TV. It felt isolating and honestly like a punishment for having children. Worship is supposed to be about unity, not separation. Trying to make the best of it, we went back downstairs to enter the main auditorium. That's when we were stopped. My wife explained that our children are well-behaved and would not cause a disruption. An older gentleman then stepped forward and said, "We don't allow kids in here." We were turned away, in front of others, with our children standing there. It was embarrassing, disheartening, and honestly shocking. I couldn't help but think of Matthew 19:14, "Let the little children come to me... and do not hinder them." I also thought about the message every church promotes: "Come as you are" and "All are welcome." That is not what we experienced. We were redirected, restricted, and ultimately rejected. This church once felt like a place where families belonged. When it was Family Church, it truly lived up to that name. Since then, it has been rebranded multiple times and is now called Boundless Church. Ironically, the first thing we experienced were boundaries. This was a moment that mattered for me and my family. It could have been a turning point in reconnecting with faith and community. Instead, we left feeling like we did not belong. Very disappointing experience.

I loved being in the main hall because I felt the presence of God but it is no longer the same for me. Sadly my time here was great but now i must search for a new church.

Amazing for the whole family! I write this at the close of our 4th year participating in RHC's…read moresummer Vacation Bible School and am overwhelmed again with gratitude to be a part of such an incredible church where my kids (ages 8, 4, and 1) are known and loved by church staff and volunteers. My kiddos are taught how to love the Lord with a faithfulness to the Bible at a level of depth that is hard to match at many a church. My kids LOVE going to church, routinely ask deep questions about faith and bring up lessons and stories their teachers have told them, and sing songs or hymns they've learned in Sunday School. From AWANA, to garden club, to play and praise park days, family campouts, and more, we feel so supported as a family at this church. I am also a pretty safety conscious mom and RHC takes every measure to train volunteers with excellence and to keep our kiddos safe. We feel so supported as a family through various workshops provided throughout the year, a parenting resource library, and a Sunday school group for parents leading their young families...it's such a joy to grow alongside other like-minded parents in this sweet community. We feel like we have church family that we can be vulnerable with and that can walk alongside of us and point us back to the Lord through the ups and downs of life. RHC is large enough to have excellent and fun programming, yet small enough to know and be known. Other things that I love about this church is its multi-generationality (we have a healthy mix of seniors, families and kids, and college students/young adults. I'm so often encouraged by others further along in life checking in on me). Women's Bible study is a highlight! There are a lot of people here eager to grow. There are also many theology professors that attend here and regularly lead courses/workshops on everything from current topics effecting the church to daily living out our walks. This is a place that you are free to ask questions in and that equips you to grow. If you are looking for a church home, we can't wait to welcome you!
