Been attending Renew Church OC for about 6-7 months now and purposely waited to write this review to be fair and offer an honest review. Since our first Sunday, Renew has been welcoming, friendly, and caring. All the Pastors and staff have big hearts and truly care about everyone that visits. There are so many different ministries from Youth, College, Young Adult, Young Families, Global Missions, and classes ranging for sexual addiction to divorce care for kids. There's also a sports ministry that includes basketball, volleyball, and pickleball. I'm sure i i didn't list all the ministries since i'm still very new but Renew has so much to offer. They've been very caring and supportive to me and my family. We just had a beach baptism at Huntington Beach where my Dtr was baptized and it was perfect. We also recently have this new partnership with Hope Intl Univ where Renew offers accredited college and seminary classes that are transferable to local colleges. How many other churches offer classes and for credit? Renew likes to share we're a church for imperfect people but nobody's perfect on this planet. Thank the Lord for Renew Church!! I've been going to this church for almost two years now. I was trying to find a church that was welcoming and not over the top with the theatrics. I really enjoy the location itself, being the Brea Civic Center, as well as the Lead Pastor, Wilson. Overall just a great vibe of people and messaging. Renew church has since moved out of the Meridian Sports Complex and into the Curtis Theater located in the Brea Civic Center. This is a significant upgrade from their last place giving them AC, an outdoor courtyard, and a massive upgrade to the sound system. That being said, the people, not the building, make the church. And this is where Renew Church knocks it out of the park. The welcoming atmosphere, coffee, name tags, and friendly staff will make you feel welcome and see when you walk in. It lives up to its tagline "For Imperfect People Only". I've been attending every since February 2021 (during COVID) and it has only gotten better. Between getting lunch after Sunday service with the college group to going on retreats to Big Bear or Zion National Park, I don't regret it for one second. This church is incredible. I feel so at home here and although I am new to the community, I've always felt included and pursued by the community here. Pastor Wilson is a humble servant of Christ, and is not only a pastor but a friend to the people at our church. Renew embodies how a church is not a building but it's a group of people. Through getting lunch together, to doing outreaches in Fullerton, and more, this church actively creates opportunities to love others in the Fullerton area and beyond. I joined Renew Church in my first year at Cal State Fullerton, when I was searching for a solid community with sound doctrine. The leadership here is responsible and accessible, and the messages are great for new Christians and those with a mature faith. They are not afraid to tackle real-life topics and reach the community for Christ with humility and compassion. The congregation is growing steadily and includes a solid children's ministry, youth group, college group, and young adult/family groups. All ages are served here in a thoughtful way. I started coming out to Renew's small groups first because I was looking for a new college fellowship. My friend invited me out & when I started coming, I absolutely LOVED it so so much. The community was so amazing; everyone was incredibly open, vulnerable, mature, and very kind. I also learned a lot from the bible studies which is the main reason I continued to go! I was not getting fed at my old church but I stayed bc I was serving the youth group there and I didn't want to leave the high schoolers I had built relationships with. Later on, after a mission trip to Mexico I realized how important my faith & my relationship with God is so I decided to come to Renew. It was a hard decision to make bc I didn't want to leave my old church after making a commitment to serve the youth group there. But being at Renew has been sooooo rejuvenating and amazing for me. I can only speak for myself (even though I know many others with similar stories) but I love everything about Renew. The worship is AMAZING and the people are so nice and welcoming. From my previous experiences with church hopping, people would be cliquey & would go eat together with their friends after service, but Renew eats together as a group which is one thing I really loved. They try not to make it cliquey and so they post the location of where everyone is going to eat lunch in the Renew FB page or young adult FB page and everyone gets to know each other! I also love Pastor Wilson and his sermons. Wilson is incredibly intentional and approachable. I don't think I've ever listened to any of his sermons without getting teary-eyed. They are so relatable and I love the church's "goal" for everyone to be mission-minded. That has been my own experience with Renew and I feel like it's one of the best decisions I've made :) Renew is a place where imperfect people are loved, celebrated, and embraced. I used to go there once in a while when I lived in the apartments next door. It is a great place as long as you are either a student or Asian. They are totally unresponsive to the realities of the local homeless. I asked for help and/or resources for some locals as was treated like i asked them to eat a bug. Totally shallow and fake people. If your not one of the beautiful people do not bother hurtful and out of touch with the realities of less fortunate locals without rich mommies and daddies. read more

Back in January 2020, I found Renew and in this church, I found a home where I can belong. The people are friendly and welcoming. Simply my favorite! The sermons are encouraging, practical, and challenging. My small group is amazing and very supportive. We can have a blast together and also serve others together. We can chat about a funny reel we saw and we can pray together. I love that we can do life together through the ups and downs! The Renew Church community has provided a great amount of support and encouragement and LOVE!! And that's what I need and look for from my spiritual family! It's a warm, inviting environment, definitely geared towards young adults and young families - friendly, hip, welcoming. Location is in Fullerton, off the 57, at a local venue that is pretty central and easy to maneuver. The service runs about an hour 15 to an hour and a half - 10:30am-11:45/noon! Tried out this church today. People were very friendly and welcoming (thanks, Vicky!) but the music was deafening. We had to step out into the hallway, and even there it was about as loud as it should have ever been inside the room. Tone down the amplification, please; I don't want to lose my hearing by going to church. The preaching was decent, but we felt that the speaker tried too hard to be "hip" and relevant to the crowd, which, on the whole, was quite young and casual, not something that we feel is really appropriate in a church. It's better and more balanced to have older people as well as younger, and not just to cater to one age group. The preacher was using pop culture references like The Simpsons. Many people were also on their phones (and *not* on Bible apps, but Facebook, texting, etc.). We generally did not appreciate the preaching, even aside from the Calvinistic leaning, which we disagree with pretty strongly. Lastly, even aside from the particular message, we think it's better to have older and more experienced preachers. The guy up there today was not much older than I am, probably no older than 30. Preachers should generally have more life experience and maturity, if they're going to be teaching an entire congregation. read more

This church is so wow. I feel like I belong here. It is a great church. People here are super nice and loving. I would say Renew has a great authentic body of people. The service is great. I like how they approach the Bible every Sunday. I really like that they give out the passage in small group and we discuss it and the pastor talks about it on Sunday. It makes me think on how is the pastor going to approach this week's passage. I also really like that they set aside room for Jesus every Sunday (communion). I also like that they have so many events to grow spiritually with godly people. Overall, Renew church is my home church for awhile. read more

I found Renew through Yelp a little over a year ago. I was a little hesitant to try a church I found online....I feel the same about online dating..... Anyways, I decided to try it out. I felt very comfortable the first Sunday service I tried and was invited to try a small group that week. Because I felt so welcomed to the church service, I again thought I would just try the small group out. It was very unique, unlike any small group I have been a part of. I was comfortable. People were able to be vulnerable and trust one another quickly. I was surprised how safe I felt so soon. It is now one year later and I am very involved in Renew. I volunteer in the children's ministry on Sunday, attend Young Adult small group Tuesday, and feel like I have a family every moment of every day. I highly recommend trying it out. P.S.
