I attended Boundless Church on Palm Sunday (March 29th) with my wife and our four children, hoping to reconnect with my faith after years of feeling distant. Years ago, this church was known as Family Church when Pastor Dave Ansell was leading. Back then, it truly felt like a family church in every sense of the word. Life took me in a different direction, and over time my faith drifted. Recently, I've been searching again, and that Sunday felt like it mattered. It felt like the day I was supposed to come back. We arrived excited, as a family, ready to worship together. As we walked in, I considered checking our kids in, but my younger children have never really been away from their mother and were not ready. Instead of forcing them, we made the decision to stay together as a family and attend service. That's when things immediately felt off. We were directed away from the main auditorium and told to go upstairs into a separate room to watch the service on a TV. It felt isolating and honestly like a punishment for having children. Worship is supposed to be about unity, not separation. Trying to make the best of it, we went back downstairs to enter the main auditorium. That's when we were stopped. My wife explained that our children are well-behaved and would not cause a disruption. An older gentleman then stepped forward and said, "We don't allow kids in here." We were turned away, in front of others, with our children standing there. It was embarrassing, disheartening, and honestly shocking. I couldn't help but think of Matthew 19:14, "Let the little children come to me... and do not hinder them." I also thought about the message every church promotes: "Come as you are" and "All are welcome." That is not what we experienced. We were redirected, restricted, and ultimately rejected. This church once felt like a place where families belonged. When it was Family Church, it truly lived up to that name. Since then, it has been rebranded multiple times and is now called Boundless Church. Ironically, the first thing we experienced were boundaries. This was a moment that mattered for me and my family. It could have been a turning point in reconnecting with faith and community. Instead, we left feeling like we did not belong. Very disappointing experience. read more

I've gone to this church 14 years and have never missed an Easter service with my family. Today We made the effort to get our family ready, 3children and arrive at church on time, only to be told we could not enter the main auditorium because we had children with us. Instead, we were sent to a "family room" to watch the service on a TV. That is not the same thing as being in the sanctuary and frankly, if that's the experience, we could have stayed home. More importantly, this doesn't reflect the heart of God. Jesus welcomed children He did not turn them away or treat them as a disruption. Telling families they cannot enter the main service because they have children feels completely opposite to that. Families should not feel pushed aside or separated for showing up and trying to be present. If anything, children should be welcomed into the house of God, not redirected away from it. This policy needs to be seriously reconsidered. read more

I've been attending this church for over eight years. From the beginning, I got connected and involved in serving, and I built close relationships with the pastor and leaders--especially the director of the baby ministry. After taking a break for some time, I returned in 2023 with my partner and our first baby. We began reconnecting, and my partner even started serving. However, there were consistent comments from leaders questioning why I wouldn't put my daughter in class--even though she was only 2-3 months old and breastfeeding. I also didn't feel fully comfortable leaving her, based on my past experience serving in the baby ministry. At that time, the director, Lourie, often came across as rude and impatient, and I personally witnessed her being less attentive and caring with the children when parents weren't present. Yet during pickup, she would present things very differently, often emphasizing that even if babies were crying, it was important for parents to remain in service. When I became pregnant with my second child, I stepped away again and returned when he was about two months old. Once again, the comments continued--this time urging me to bring my son into class so others could hold him, and suggesting I switch to bottle feeding. Recently, we attended a service and put our daughter in class. We asked to be called if she cried for more than five minutes and provided our number, which they already had. About 15 minutes later, my partner went to check on her and could hear her crying from down the hall. When he asked how she was doing, he was told she was "fine," and that her behavior was due to us not bringing her regularly. They also claimed they didn't have our number, which was not true. This experience deeply hurt me. I've spent a significant part of my life at this church, yet it feels like care and attention are conditional--based on consistent attendance, involvement in groups, serving, tithing, and maintaining a positive appearance. Over time, I feel the church has changed, especially with rebranding and new leadership. While they say from the stage that they are there for everyone, that help is available, and that "all are welcome," my experience has felt very different. It often seems like unless you come already put together, they are unwilling to meet you in difficult or messy seasons. Many interactions have felt disingenuous, focused more on image and appearance than genuine care. I've raised concerns about these issues before, and while they created an upstairs room where parents can watch the service on a screen, it feels isolating and impractical--especially for those with strollers. It ends up feeling no different than watching from home. Each time I attend, I feel uncomfortable and unwelcome, which has been especially discouraging as a postpartum mother navigating anxiety and depression. I understand that sharing this may be difficult for some to hear, but my hope is simply that leadership will listen with open hearts and take steps toward meaningful change--especially within the children's ministry. Caring for children requires patience, compassion, and a genuine heart, and it feels like that has been lost over time. I've been at this church for about 6 months now and woah it has been life changing! Not only has it gotten me closer to God but it has strengthened my faith DRASTICALLY! Pastor Oscar is just amazing! I'm disappointed to say the least. I started coming here because it was an English based church and I was trying to help ease my husband into the process of going to church. I grew up Pentecostal and took him once and he hated it. I knew why but it would clearly fly over his head since he isn't spiritually ready for that. However when we started coming here initially I had my doubts and I should've listened to the Holy Spirit then but I was bent on getting my husband into church that I allowed myself to compromise on Dream City. There are just so many things wrong but it's all packaged so beautifully that it's easy to miss or ignore... unfortunately there is a clear emphasis on aesthetic and admin which contradicts scripture. For we are not called to please men but rather God, and also all the Glory, Honor and Praise belongs to the Lord, which sadly many people here seem to conflate. Just because someone works for the Lord, doesn't mean they are worthy of praise or adoration. In the end a broken, dirty, clean or new vessel, is still a vessel. The Lord is our focus not the people who serve. Secondly, the groups are such a let down. I went Through the process of actually making a few and both times I had 1-2 attendees. Eventually they stopped coming even if I live less than 5 minutes from the church itself. They said they would help me with getting attendance but when I told the person running it they just said "bummer, try again next time". Totally dismissing to aid me or even care for that matter. Not to mention I was paying for materials out of pocket and I dedicated long hours creating lessons, Bible studies and resource guides for those in the group. It was sad to see how poorly they were managing the sheep but the Lord sees everything. Also, I will mention that when I first started getting involved they had me attend a "first steps" meeting and when I went they used this thing called an Enneagram to figure out what ways you can serve the church. From past experience I knew that the Enneagram was invented by a Satanist and they used it to categorize people (similar to horoscopes). I didn't feel right about it and I asked them why they used it since its origins were demonic and they said "our intention is what matters". Which again is unbiblical because we're not called to believe in our own logic or thoughts but rather Gods word. Gods word says that we shall have nothing to do with divination, soothsaying, etc which this was based on. We're also told to stay away from evil works, cursed is the man who puts his trust in man, and our thoughts are not his through nor are his ways our ways. The Bible also says to remain vigilant and sober minded and that the devil can disguise himself as an angel of light. So I truly believe there is a lot of confusion, deception and pride at this church. All of which the Lord abhors. Not to mention they also celebrate pagan holidays like Christmas and Easter. The Lord convicted me time and time again about this church and I've felt heavy spiritual darkness there too. I occasionally watch online but I can't step back there again without some kind of warfare. There's definitely leviathan and jezebel spirits there. Take heed and armor up if you are sensitive in the spirit. read more

I really really tried to love this church but I dont think I will continue here any longer. The pastor does an amazing job and sermons are amazing. My issue is that the female director of the kids center is extremely rude and condescending. I had an issue today with my 20 month old freaking out and crying at the center. I'm very grateful that they even offer this service but i disagree with their rigidity and lack of communication amongst each other. I asked multiple times on separate occurrences if I could please have my 3 year old and 1.5 year old in the same room because the baby gets anxious. If she sees a familiar face, the transition to the center would be easier. I kept getting "no we cant" from multiple people which frustrated me so much..this occurred on separate days with me asking multiple people on separate days. So i stopped attending church for a while because of this issue. Then today the baby was freaking out again and I was stressed out and frustrated with the women that they kept telling me no about allowing my 2 girls to be in the same room together. I asked 2 girls who said no then finally the director named paula i believe who was so rude and condescending about the issue. I explained i felt that the rules were too rigid and that they should accommodate if they see my baby is distressed otherwise it keeps me from showing up. She basically blamed me for not showing up enough to church but also said we could have them in the same room next time. I could tell she was taking it personally even though I wasnt being rude about it. She kept saying, " Well you didnt talk to ME" in the most superior and condescending voice. When we finished talking, i walked a few steps to the bathroom and noticed the baby also had blood on her nose which she didnt have when i dropped her off.. I'm not sure if the baby had scratched herself or got hurt but I'm upset of how I was treated and spoken to and that my baby was hurt somehow with no explanation. Previously before this happened, i also had a similar issue with another director who monitors the middle school kids. On the website, it stated that it was 6th grade but they ended up placing her with the really small children instead. I was disappointed with that because my 12 year old wasn't learning anything and instead felt like a baby. She was only 3 months away from being a 7th grader and i explained that my child was mature enough to understand what the middle school students were learning. The director told me no that my daughter couldn't join the middle schoolers which i felt was unreasonable. So we stopped attending church again because my oldest child didnt enjoy being placed with small children. I think i, as the parent, know what's best for my children. I know what she is ready for and for the directors to be so rigid on these matters is what keeps me from showing up to this church. I never had these issues with my old church in chatsworth and it makes me miss them so much more. If i didnt have my kids, i would stay but the people working with kids and parents need work and make a big deal out of something very small. Its ok to make adjustments especially when its for the best interest of the kids. read more

If you are like a large number of church attendees these days who, if they'll be honest with themselves or are even aware of it, are much more interested in more of a glitzy, feel good "show biz" type entertainment experience that includes lighting, a band, a "talk show host" Pastor who is more interested in developing an "awesome" persona with an emphasis on "playing to the cheap seats" than in truly illuminating and inspiring attendees with an experience that fosters genuine spiritual growth and faith development, then this is the place for you. Self-appointed "Pastors"'need to focus and remember that they're just the tour guide here... God is supposed to be the star of the show! Entertainment's great and I get it.... Give the people what they want and whatever it is that will fill the seats. It doesn't need to be dull and boring... but it does require that it maintains some focus of the primary objective, which is helping the attendees in the development of their spiritual journey. It is, after all, still a form of "show biz", a traditional and viable vehicle going all the way back to the old "tent revivals"! And it does fill those collection plates, which too many Pastors make their primary objective! And if it fulfills those goals... what's the downside? The downside is that a church's "success" presents the false conclusion that the Ministerial staff is fulfilling their purpose based solely on attendance... which, in these cases, is quite the stretch. But even the biggest stars will tell you that one of the biggest keys to their success is HUMILITY! Pastors would do well to remember who they are, and more importantly, who they're NOT. My family has been going to this church for over 20 years. We have gone through many pastors who all have been amazing. Our new Pastor Oscar is recently promoted to head pastor. He started as one of the associated pastors. Of course in the beginning the change was difficult for me to adapt to his way of pastoring. Now Pastor Oscar, is incredible, he is relatable and very kind and I am very grateful to be back and it feels like I never left. I want to write this review because I don't see too many recent ones and I think it's helpful especially when you are looking around for a new church! I hold this church so close to my heart. I started going here about 8 years ago when I was 20 years old. I became a mom and now have a 4 year old who absolutely loves the kids classes and doesn't stop asking to go to church everyday. The building itself is beautiful but it's the people that are inside it that make it so special. I have met some of the best people in my life here. In the past two years that Pastor Oscar has been the lead pastor, I have never seen it flourish the way it has. Him and his wife have a big heart for everyone who comes into those doors and genuinely cares for his congregation. You can tell how someone is by their fruits and it's obvious God is working in his life to lead this church. I've been blessed enough for God to direct me to a place where I am supported, encouraged, and truly loved. There are so many groups that you can join to be connected. They have an awesome men's recovery program that helps people fight their addictions. A food and clothing distribution that helps the homeless. Me personally, am part of the youth team and serve on Sundays and I honestly learn so much about the Bible just from those teaching. I look forward to Sundays because as soon as I walk through the doors I feel God's peace and that's how it should be! Community and God's presence is what I think God intended for his church. I first tried Dream City Church with my husband and parents a couple months ago and from the first service and the worship, I felt the Holy Spirit in the room. I've attended a Foursquare church in Anaheim called The Rock for over ten years and it will always be a home, (still listen to Pastor Jerry's podcast every week. Stay fed friends!) but we live in Whittier and wanted to be able to connect with local Christians in our community. My husband and I just got married in June so we especially wanted to be able to make friends with other couples. Everyone is so welcoming and I've already started helping in different ministries because I know God wants me to be able to build here. If you're looking for a home church and feel God leading you to try Dream City Whittier, listen and don't hesitate. Today was a sad day for a friend who died tragically last week when he was hit by a Chrysler and my friend's mini van landed on top of that person's car but those people fled the scene. Service started at 11:30 but mourners started gathering at 11am. This place looked more like a place for a concert or a movie theater cause of their lighting but at the same time it felt comforting. The service coordinators I felt did a good job moving the service along and tending to the mourners. The parking lot in the back was another story. Their were too many other vehicles in the back i.e. church buses that should have been tucked away in the corner making more room for mourners to park. I guess it wasn't a square or rectangular lot but more of a triangular lot which made maneuvering a little bit of a hassle, otherwise it was a good service and the facility did it's job to accommodate. read more

This church is a joke just like the so called campus pastor who makes during services makes dumb jokes not realizing if he's ridiculing someone. Church is suppose to be a place to worship and feel safe, and welcomed. They say they welcome all and can help all with the groups they have. But the pastors themselves do not reach out to help when asked. I know quite a few people including myself who have tried to reach out to the senior pastor for advise and of course never no response. What a disappointment this place turned out to be. They may fool others by calling themselves pastors but they don't fool God. They should practice what they preach. read more

Looking for a new church home and had a nice visit today. The worship and preaching were engaging and well done. Everyone there seemed to have a love for each other! But as a first time guest by themself it was a bit difficult. I felt a little lost trying to find the sanctuary - I think I walked into the kids ministry entrance? I wanted to fill out a visitor card but there unfortunately wasn't one in the seat back in front of me. After service I went looking for a welcome center/area/table for visitors but couldn't find anything. I eventually asked someone there who pointed me to a woman with a basket. I was able to get a visitor card from her and fill it out, but she didn't try to have any conversation with me. Overall, it looks like they are doing great things as a church. I just hope they consider creating a space for new guests to stop by and have a conversation/ask questions about the church. As a solo new visitor, it was a bit overwhelming and hard to feel welcome in the space. read more
