I have a diesel Mercedes van that I use for work. I ran into a problem with it not being able to go over 5 mph. I had an electrical diagnosis done by my mechanic that I normally take my vehicles to. Per the diagnosis stated the vehicle was in limp mode, DEF count down so he replaced the NOX sensor. However, after barely making it home it went into limp mode again. I was told to take it to a diesel mechanic so I found Turner Diesel. I called them and they said they could work on it and would be able to fix it. I brought it to them for diagnosis they gave me an estimate of over $2000 to repair and replace the ECM. It didn't clear the light and was still in limp mode. They said they could fix it by replacing 4 corroded wires also repairing and replacing the adblue SCR DEF module which brought the estimate up significantly over $2000. They couldn't fix so they sent it to Mercedes and when they got it back the DTC was still not cleared and was still in limp mode. I was still not able to drive it. I ended up receiving an Invoice for $6000+. I asked for a courtesy discount since when I was going to have it towed from there and pay my invoice, they had had it more than 6 weeks (after telling me it would take a week at most to fix) and they agreed to the discount which brought it down to about $5200+. When my wife went pay she put the card through and I saw that they had not charged me what they quoted me with the discount and the girl who put it through said it was too late since the card already went through. she paid me the difference in cash. Had I not been standing there they would have got away with over charging me. Needless to say, I had to have it towed away, at my expense and I spent all that money and lost all that time without my work horse, and it remained unrepaired. DO NOT go to these people. They will take your money and won't fix your vehicle. I spoke to a mechanic who works in that area (not on diesel) and said they are too high priced and don't really know what they are doing. I took it back to Mercedes and they quoted me $8,604.56 to repair it and said all the Turner did to it was not necessary nor the solution to the problem. Read the UPDATES!!! Everything Turner Diesel did went WRONG. Installed turbo, stopped making boost after 150 miles. Exhaust weld broke, was improperly installed!! I was told by the new shop JB weld was part of the issue. JB weld on an exhaust pipes for a turbo???? Did not install the new turbo exhaust manifold that came with the BMI turbo properly, they did not tighten the bolts so this was leaking so bad it made my wife nauseous. Destroyed injector pump because they did not know how to properly adjust it! Humvee is surging now, never did this before turbo install. They installed a relay for the turbo gauges, they used some kind of sticky stuff to mount relay instead of bolting it down. ( see pics. Can't make this up! ) Next, starter and flywheel with ring gear installation, get Humvee back trans is leaking 1/2 quart every start up, fuel tank is leaking now as they also took that down to install starter. Starter not aligned properly, grinding now on start up. Was told $1800 but when I went to pick it up it was $3200. This list goes on, injectors and glow plugs installed was told $1600 was $3500. They had my Humvee for over 30 days to fix fuel, trans leaks, starter grinding and to adjust injection pump. During that 30 days the front brush guard was hit and bent and a center cap on my rim was broken. Me and George, I thought where friends, if he will do this to me just think what he will do to someone he does not know. Refuses to give me invoices for the work that was done! BEWARE!! DO NOT TAKE ANYTHING TO THIS SHOP!! So far I have a $2300 bill from another shop to fix everything Turner touched and it's still not right. Had to have the injection pump completely rebuilt because when they tried to adjust it they damaged it. It's back in the shop as I write this!! Looks like a fuel line is pinched above the fuel tank that Turner took down not once but twice!! I would leave 0 stars but that's not an option. Update as of 7-28-22. Turner installed the wrong lift pump. They installed a lift pump for a gas engine. You sure would think a diesel shop would know better.Another $1150 to fix this. ‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍ Update as of 4-3-23 Exhaust weld broke after only 500 miles. They just welded a flared end right onto the pipe, and then the bolting flange would not go over the weld so they ground off the weld. On the drivers side they hacked it together by taking the donut gasket off the gasket and just sticking the metal piece in the manifold. Then used a paper gasket with RTV silicone. See pics. UPDATE 4-26-23 I can't believe I have to do another update to this feedback. When he installed the new starter and new flywheel, he did not align them properly/shim the starter so that it lines up with the fly wheel, so now I need a new starter and a new flywheel AGAIN!! I was charged over $3000 for this because the transmission Has to come completely out now it Has to be done again. Unbelievable!!!!! Here we go! Another update. 9-24-23. Turner was to installed new glow plug. I said get Bosch, he said that's what I would use. So he puts 4 Bosch in the drivers side and 4 Chinese ones in the passenger side. The 4 chinese just failed. I went to Turner's diesel to have my manifold replaced. Was told he could complete this job in a few days. I advised them that I used the vehicle for work. And that I could bring it another day if he felt he wouldn't be able to complete the work in stated time of two days. Needless to say they kept my vehicle nearly 2 weeks the work wasn't done correctly. So I called they say bring it back for adjustments. I took it back & they destroyed the right caliber. They sat in the parking lot revving the engine and using the brake to hold a 3500 truck. The dually truck ripped the pad off and the rotor touched the ceramic caliber & cracked it. This guy tell me my brake didn't have any pad left. As if I didn't drive there and knew there wasn't any issues with the brake. He wanted me to pay him to fix damages his worker did. I refused & he wouldn't give me my vehicle keys. Long stroy short he called police on me. They came I explained the situation the flat bed service came & towed my vehicle to another shop. These people are no good stay away they lie cheat and won't fix you vehicle correctly. I'm out 5k dealing with them 2700 to fix a manifold that wasn't fix the 1300 for replacement of rotor brake pads & a caliber. read more

Avoid this establishment at all costs. I will cut this short and to the point. My best friend lost a turbo in his truck while doing a show in Cleveland. AAA took it to the closest place for repair unfortunately it was the dodge dealer. I started calling around for a reliable shop to replace the turbo. Found Turner Diesel performance and it was 19 miles west of the dealership. My friend arranged the tow and spoke with the service writer Jack. My friend needed the turbo installed so that he could get on the road to another show in St. Louis. Jack stated he would have it done on Monday the 9th. Turner towing attempted to pick up the truck 2 times and their trucks both broke down. The next morning at 9 a.m.; Jack called an outside company and towed the truck in. that day was 5/4/22. They only work 4 days there. I received the estimate and noticed the tow of 375.00 for 19 miles. I called another tow company and had them send me of the same tow, time, everything and his price was 75.00 flat. The estimate had the total of the turbo with a 150.00 mark up. I already checked on the turbo price. Jack said that a 62.00 freight charge would happen to get it there on the 9th. I agreed so the 9th arrives; Jack ordered the wrong turbo; the 10th arrives; another overnight; wrong turbo right actuator, 11th no better over night and now its the 12th. Wrong turbo but he ordered a separate actuator. Installed the turbo and actuator and my friend was able to leave on the 13th. He had a fully loaded trailer and was forced to speed excessively to make it to St. Louis.He did make it. In the meantime when Jack was having problems ordering the only turbo that fits that model; i sent him a dealer with the turbo complete overnight. 2700.00. I investigate further and find out that turner diesel is an authorized b-d installer. This is what the turbo was supposed to be as written on my estimate. As I search further down the road in cleveland 20 miles away is a b-d installer, and also stocks the turbos. Why was he going through this shipping mess? Yes 2700. in stock complete with actuator. I also spoke with the owner George and explained very nicely that Jack really needed some help finishing this job. He listened to what I had to say and said that he would get back with me. Never did. I waited a few hours; called back; Jack answered. I asked to speak with George and jack snapped at me and said that he is not going to put me through every time and said he would get the message to him and hung up once again. When my friend arrived Jack smiled at him and my friend had to pay for the truck to make the show. Original estimate 4220.00/ final bill 5,865.65. Jack had billed me for the turbo without the actuator 2947.00 from the estimate and then he adds another 1200 for the actuator, still billed 62.00 for shipping, stayed with the 375.00 tow and the labor was in line at 6.6hrs. 825.00. I sat down and sent an email stating the issues and they needed to adjust the astronomical bill that they for some reason thought that it was justified. Neither one of them answered my emails. Just crickets. I retired as a heavy equipment manager and stated that I have never witnessed anything like this disaster in my entire life. On top of that i had asked Jack which codes were on the truck; never got them. Asked jack about the warranty information on the tuck; he said that the turbo has been registered and the warranty is 1 yr/60,000 mile. Never received any paperwork whatsoever so have no idea what is the make of the turbo. The warranty is fishy already but never received anything. Well, Turner Diesel got their money but it doesn't stop there. I will have to update this in a few weeks because I can't disclose all of their surprises coming their way. In the meantime stay away!!!
