Chicken Gyro combo plate and a beef sambusa for $40
    Anthony J.

I came here for lunch at the Solana Beach Fiesta Del Sol. All I ordered was a combo plate and 1 sambusa for a total of $40 . The samosa tasted really good but the chicken and rice was very dry. There were other vendors that were also probably overcharging as well but $40 for ok food seems ridiculous. Also the prices aren't posted on the menu which seemed strange, the lady running the cashier only told me my total as I handed over my card.

Delicious gyro wrap and fries. Friendly staff! They move around so follow their schedule. I've caught them in downtown and near seaport.

    Rice, hummus, salad, etc.

We had a fabulous office lunch for 40 people catered in today by Zaid/Dave. Kabobs, rice, salad, humus, pita, lots of veggies, etc. with only 48 hour notice! He goes above and beyond our expectations! Excellent service and quality of food. Great communication and always on time which is extremely important for business luncheons. I will continue to use and highly recommend!

I ran into the Turkish Grill at the new Mission Valley Farmers Market on Saturday. I had a large chicken filled Turkish Samosa for $6.99. The samosa was good. However, I did feel that it was over breaded or thicker than it needed to be. The chicken inside was tasty and they put a good amount inside the samosa. I liked the Turkish seasonings they used. The sauces they drizzled onto the samosa were very tasty. I would of rather had them on the side, but I was unaware that they were going to drizzle it on top. Customer service was very friendly ad up beat. In addition the the Mission Valley Farmer's Market, you can also find them at the Hillcrest Farmer's Market on Sundays, Oceanside on Thursdays, and Little Italy on Wednesdays.

Delicious food! I had the lamb slices in pita with french fries. Add to that their special sauce. Loved it all!

I ordered the Falafel Wrap and the Lentil Soup, both vegan even though they are not clearly marked as such on the menu. They were both delicious and very well seasoned, not too much and not too little. We came early on a Friday, right before 5 pm, and there were plenty of tables available. The food arrived very quickly, the service was great, and the place was very clean with a calm atmosphere and soft background music. My soup came with a piece of bread, so I asked the server to confirm whether the bread was also vegan. She was kind enough to bring me the ingredients list so I could check for myself, and yes, it was vegan. I still recommend confirming each time in case the ingredients ever change. My husband, who is not vegan, also really enjoyed his food. I definitely recommend this place to vegans, and I will absolutely be coming back many more times.

It was not a busy night and maybe 4 tables were occupied including our four people table. We placed an order right as we got in at 7pm, including three drinks and four main dishes. Regretfully, it took a whole HOUR to receive our meals AND DRINKS. Why drinks were not brought up to us in between when the order was placed and meals served, is beyond me. And when food arrived, one of the items was wrong. My partner ordered chicken dish but got beef. We flagged this to our server (who was nowhere near to be found) and she seemed indifferent. After waiting for an hour for our food, we decided that we will just accept the what order this beef dish is because it was already 8pm and idea of having food at 9pm did not seem fun. Also it is worth mentioning that we ordered smoothies for our drinks. Server never asked us if there was any dietary restrictions and nowhere on the menu it was noted that fruit smoothies contain milk. Terrible times when you are lactose intolerant. Overall very poor experience.

It was so good I've recommended it to a bunch of people, so I decided to check out the original Kearny Mesa spot out of respect. In my head, the first location should be even better since that's where it started, but that wasn't the case at all and it ended up being pretty disappointing. I ordered online and it showed a 19 minute wait for just a drink, which felt long for around 6:30 in the morning. I placed it anyway, but when I got there the plaza was basically empty. It's in a quieter area near military and recruitment offices. My drink was already sitting at the pickup counter with my name on it, so I was in and out in seconds. There is some outdoor seating with music playing, which is nice, but I didn't stay long. I ordered the same matcha I got in Mission Valley because it was that memorable. The only difference was dairy milk instead of oat milk, but that shouldn't have changed it this much. The color was the first red flag. It was super light, almost pale green, instead of that bright vibrant green you expect from good matcha. You can usually tell quality just from that. The taste didn't match either. The Mission Valley one had a strong matcha flavor with a slight sweetness from the date syrup, and the knafeh cold foam pulled everything together. This one tasted weak and kind of flat. The cold foam was still good and tasted the same, but that's only a small part of the drink and not enough to save it. Now I'm honestly confused because I've been recommending this drink to people and if they came to this location first, their experience would be completely different. It just didn't live up to what I had before. I'll probably go back to the Mission Valley spot to see if that version is actually the standard, but this one left me pretty let down.

The downside of this place was being seated on the right side of the restaurant near the carry out section. This was the pit of despair. I noticed that most of the staff goes to the other end first, and as a result 4 tables got seated after us and all of them had food on their table before we managed to flag one of the staff. It was definitely busy in there but he replied that he was simply going in order, but apparently order or left side to right side instead of arrival. I recommend trying to get seated on the side w the stained glass windows for better service. Other than that, the experience overall was pleasant.
