I've been on a fortnightly schedule for over a year now, and they consistently miss their scheduled mows. Every time I reach out to them to find out why, it's a new excuse: invoices not paid (which were never sent), property obstructions (which I was never contacted about), and lies about not having services scheduled (despite them being in writing). It's been more stressful dealing with their inconsistency, rudeness, and unprofessionalism than managing my own lawn. I never bother to write reviews, much less negative ones, because I respect the work that others do and want to support local businesses. My property is 90x110 and they gave me an excellent price for a cleanup. I asked when they could do it and they said right away. They cleaned up my property wonderfully. It hasn't looked this good in years. They spent a lot of time in my yard. Well worth the money that I signed a monthly Lawn maintenance contract the very next day. They have been doing an excellent job since mid April 2020. I've recommended them to my neighbors when they asked who does your yard. I am glad I found them. I highly recommend them.

Dishonest, Inconsistent, and Not Worth Hiring…read more I usually only leave positive reviews, but after years of giving John McAvoy Landscaping chances, I feel it's important to share my experience. The first two summers were just average, but this year has been extremely disappointing. * The lawn was constantly cut unevenly, and I had to call every week asking them to lower the mower deck. * Despite being told weeds would be taken care of, they were done inconsistently (some weeks partially, some not at all) and eventually ignored completely. * Most recently, the crew didn't even attempt the weeds along the sidewalk -- they just skipped that side of the house altogether. After reviewing my home's camera footage, it was clear very little work was being done. When I finally confronted the issue, I was told they "don't do weeds" and only mow -- even though the service structure was different in previous years and this was never communicated upfront. The lack of honesty, poor communication, and overall shotty work make this the worst landscaping experience I've had. Unreliable, inconsistent, and not worth hiring.
