For almost 7 years running we have had Hufnagel trim our hill of overgrown trees, limbs and branches. Mike and his people come in prepared and do the work in an expert manner. The quality of work is just what we expect each time. We highly recommend Hufnagel Tree Service for any and all tree work. 5 Stars - Trustworthy, Fast & Affordable Tree Service! I had a tree emergency when a huge branch broke off, destroyed part of my fence, and fell into my neighbor's yard. Total nightmare! I called Hufnagel Tree Service, and within 10 minutes, Mike--the owner--was at my house assessing the damage. By 10am the next morning, Mike and his crew were back and fully equipped to handle the job. They worked quickly, professionally, and left everything spotless. The response time was incredible, but what really blew me away was how affordable the service was for an emergency call like this. It's such a relief to find a local business you can trust, especially in stressful situations. Mike is a licensed expert and certified arborist, and it shows in every part of the process. Friendly, reliable, and knowledgeable. I can't recommend Hufnagel Tree Service enough. They've definitely earned my business for life. If you're looking for fast, honest, high-quality tree work--this is the company to call. Thank you again to Mike and the amazing crew! read more

I needed work done on some trees for a property I was managing. I was visiting, unfamiliar with the area, and was shopping blind on a Saturday while calling tree contractors with reasonably good reviews. So I was not surprised to find myself leaving messages on voicemail and with messaging services. But I was surprised to get a return call from Mike Hufnagel while I was still reaching out to other tree service companies. And, I was even more surprised when he said he could drop by in a few minutes to take a look at my project. Personable and professional Mike gave me an estimate that was in line with tree work I've had done on other properties. He said about two weeks before he could get to the job, which was fine, but would he send me pictures of the finished job because I was leaving town in a few days. No problem, he said, and we shook hands on the deal. Imagine my further surprise - delight really - when on Monday, the day after we agreed to terms, Mike shows up with his crew to say he had an opening in his schedule. Gotta love working with the owner of the company, and who hustles. Mike and his crew made quick and thorough work of the job, took all the trimmings with them and cleaned the site as if they had never been there. One last item: Safety. Mike clearly respects the inherent dangers of his profession. He and his men come outfitted with every manner of protection for themselves, capping my impression of a company, and an owner, that can be trusted. It's not likely that I'll be calling anyone else for tree service in the future. read more

Mike and his team are awesome. They are knowledgable and professional. The lawn areas are always cleaned up better then they were before they arrived. We have be using o Tree Service for many years and highly recommend. read more

I recently used Hufnagel Tree Service and had an excellent experience. We just moved to Tinton Falls and wanted to get 4 trees and a low lying branch removed along with the stump grinding. I called so many companies and no one returned my calls or no showed our appointment. I called Hufnagel Tree Service and immediately received a call back from Tyler. He was professional, friendly and prompt. We scheduled an appointment for a quote within a couple of days. The day of our appointment Tyler called to confirm he was on his way and provided a reasonable work for the work we requested. Tyler set great expectations on timing of when the work would be done and they were able to do the work earlier than anticipated. When I got home from work I couldn't believe how great it all came out. They left my property in pristine condition and it was exactly what I was expecting. We met the owner Mike and he was so nice too. If you need tree work done, do yourself a favor and use Hufnagel. I highly recommend them. read more

The crew came out today and trimmed the trees between us and our neighbors and did a phenomenal job. They went up right along the fence line to the top of the trees. Living in our house for 18 years, we have had the same service done by other companies and they just cut back some, leaving me feeling they wanted to come back sooner. They did a nice job cleaning up as well. I also wanted to say Mike was great to work with and was very responsive. I would highly recommend! read more

Mike and his team came to look at and prune some of our trees in distress after such a wet Spring. They were prompt, courteous, and thorough. Put our mind at ease regarding our trees. Highly recommend! read more

Thank you so much! After reading comments from other tree cutting companies, such as... gas lines being cut into OR homes being sliced into.... I was skeptical about choosing a company for my home. Hufnagel Tree service company was professional from the initial phone call to waving goodbye. The owner was on time for appraisal and the entire crew for the day of working (early actually, ready to go!). Everyone was friendly, knowledgeable, worked well together, and did an outstanding and thorough job! WOW actually, I'm very happy and THANKFUL!!! read more

We used Huffnagel Tree Service a few times and were satisfied until last spring (2021). The estimate we were quoted was NOT what we paid when the job was done - it was way over the "verbal" estimate of $2,200. It was part our fault we never got anything in writing prior to the job being done but as repeat customers we trusted them. Shocked when the job was done and ended up paying over $3,000. The stakes (if you would call them that) they used to stake our trees were something they found in the woods - pieces of a log (looked awful & unprofessional), they hammered them into the ground so far that we needed to use a chainsaw to remove them. I asked Mike Huffnagel for an itemized paid receipt and as of today (May 2022) I never received one. Unfortunately, they will never get our business again and I would recommend customers to look for another tree service that is honest and not take advantage of a customer. Or get it in writing or you will get ripped off! read more

I have called this company 5 times leaving voice messages from August through today, and have left requests via their text message option as well, and I have yet to receive a call back. read more

I have recommended to several neighbors who also need tree removal. It was refreshing not to feel ripped off. It was wonderful to receive great service. 5 stars all the way, read more

I'm new to the area so came into the hunt for a tree service cold. Awesome work for a more than fair price--actually a bit lower than I was even expecting, and certainly lower than quotes I got from others in the area. Mike is friendly, knows what he's talking about. He and his crew did a great job for me, with exceptional clean up afterwards. Nothing but thumbs up; no complaints. read more

They did a tree for me in January. I was very happy with the service and the value. I thought I found my tree guy. So within minutes of learning my other tree went down I texted them right away. Shocked that price went from $250 to $600. Needless to say, no longer my tree guy. Very disappointing. read more

Michael and his workers, were very proficient in what they set out to do. He removed a nice size tree from the front of my house..He also did all the grinding work to the stump of the tree. Some minor work too, cut tree overhang that was on top of my house roof. I will definitely recommend Michael and his co-workers. I have to say that I liked the work they did, but , most of all it was nice to see them work and NOT CHECKING THEIR CELL PHONES EVERY 2 MINUTES! Price was reasonable! Thank you, Respectfully, Mary Ellen Connelly/Hazlet read more

Mike and his team always fo a great job for a fair price. They have been taking care of our trees for maintenance and toppled trees for many years. The team is professional in its execution and clean up. They are uniformed and helmeted as well. read more

We hired this company to cut down two trees and prune 6 cherry trees. They showed up when we were not home and began to prune trees. They butchered our beautiful 30 year old cherry trees. They took all the foliage and large branches off the tree up 15 feet. They don't even look like cherry trees anymore. We have top foliage and nothing else. Thank God I got home after 3 trees were done or all would be lost. I've lost all my privacy into my neighbors yard. I have cried for 3 days, our beautiful trees were butchered. read more

We just had the pleasure of doing business with Mike and his team! We have a large oak tree in our backyard that needed to be trimmed. We had called a different company that we had used in the past, got a run around, no call backs, etc, so we wanted to get some quotes from other tree services. Hufnagel's owner Mike promptly replied, came over and assessed our situation, really listened to what we wanted, gave honest opinions and delivered what was promised! His crew was fantastic: Skilled and efficient, they were respectful of our property, and left it cleaner than when they arrived! You would never guess how much work was done by how clean the yard was when they left. It was not cheap, but I have used cheap in the past, and got what I paid for. I'm happy to pay a little more for a professional job well done! read more

After waiting for more then six weeks for another company who keep saying they were coming out to do the job, we decided to go with someone else. From the first phone call to set up an appointment for a estimate Hufnagel was a very professional business to deal with. Ed came out within 48 hrs, and gave a estimate. We accepted and set up a date and time for the two day job to commence. Mike and his crew did a excellent job in tree removal, pruning and stump grinding. The price quote was very fair, they arrived on time, and did a great clean up. All of his crew, were very professional and friendly. Would highly recommend Hufnagel to other people. Art G. read more

Called and the owner responded very promptly, within half hour! Scheduled a visit for an estimate the following day. I hired him and he and his crew did all the work the day after! I was very impressed. He showed up on time and was very flexible as I asked him to do some additional work on the appointed day . He gave me on the spot estimates, did the additional work and was happy to do it. Great customer service and his work was excellent - cleaned up well. His prices were reasonable and quite competitive. I was delighted with this company and can recommend them highly. read more

Called to get an estimate for 2 trees cut down and stumps grinded. Mike came and told me he would have to take down part of my neighbors fence and the estimate was for $3200.00. I then called another company for an estimate. They came and said they didn't need to take down the fence and their estimate was for $900.00. They came back and did a great job. Wouldn't call Hufnagel again. read more

BEWARE! Would give negative stars if possible. Wanted over double than other tree service companies like Brimmer, Brunner, etc. Told him that and he got really nasty and aggressive...said "then go with them!". Don't need the attitude or your business! read more
