I would do a Google review however I don't have Google not do I want it. aside from the work they do, they're nice people, respectful, trustworthy, reasonably priced, and so forth. My first comment is "Jose Velarde and his team are simply fantastic"…read more We had an addition put onto our house and several huge trees had to be removed to accommodate the addition. The largest required the root ball to be dug down over 10 feet which did a tremendous amount of damage to the backyard. Additionally, during the excavation and construction the backyard suffered more damage and allowed crab grass and other weeds to grow everywhere. We considered trying to repair the lawn, regrade and reseed it, but that looked sort of hopeless; so we decided to sod not only the backyard but also the front and sides as they looked pretty bad as well. 3 contractors came to the house, measured the lawn and came with bids including the amount of sod, top soil, lime and fertilizer. Jose's bid was by far the best. The most total area, most sod, and top soil. When the work started and until the work was completed Jose took an everyday personal interest that the work was being done in a professional way, and it was! He told us how often to water, what to look for if a sprinkler head didn't fully cover an area and more, MUCH more. We now have a growing beautiful new lawn with sod from Reid's sod farm in Freehold and we couldn't be happier. I trusted Jose with the work and he and his crew outperformed at every level and detail. From the very beginning, Joe was incredibly easy to work with, knowledgeable, and most importantly, honest. When he came out for the estimate, he brought several turf options for us to compare. Since we have a dog, one of my biggest concerns was cleanliness -- especially how easy it would be to clean and whether pet waste would become a problem over time. Joe recommended a specific turf product that he felt would work best for our situation and assured us we wouldn't have issues. He was absolutely right. The turf was installed last August, and now that we're into May, it still looks fantastic and has been extremely easy to maintain. No odors, no mess, and no issues at all. The installation itself took two days, and the crew was excellent throughout the entire process. Everyone was friendly, respectful, hardworking, and they left the property spotless when the job was done. There are a lot of companies in Queens offering this type of work, but I truly can't recommend Joe enough. Our daughter has been able to fully enjoy the yard with her friends, and it's completely changed how we use our outdoor space. We're incredibly grateful to Joe and his team and would highly recommend them to anyone considering turf installation.
