Unprofessional, unsanitary, unsafe, unacceptable. The two guys who showed up from InteCare to…read moretransport my mom, in pain with a broken/repaired hip, from skilled nursing to the orthopedist were wholly unprofessional. Their English was poor, and they spoke to each other in Vietnamese. Never mind uniforms, these guys couldn't even be bothered to wear t-shirts displaying the name of the company. They wore jeans and sweatshirts. They looked and behaved like just a couple guys hired to move a couch, not an injured patient. The transport vehicle was a beat up old white van, lacking any kind of signage indicating it was a professional medical transport. It looked shabby. The gurney was likewise dilapidated. I followed closely, watching as the van coughed out black smoke from the exhaust. My poor mom later reported to me that the ride was horrible. The movers were sloppy and careless from start to finish. They lacked skill in properly handling a patient. The medical professionals at the doctor's office were as appalled as I was. The x-ray tech was annoyed with these buffoons as they clumsily fumbled around the room trying to transfer my mom from the gurney to the table, and she admonished them for their ineptitude. I didn't select this company myself. The transport was arranged by the skilled nursing facility. I was required to pay $350 over the phone in advance for this awful experience. I tried to go to the company's website, but the address is inactive. I don't know if this outfit is licensed or bonded. I will try to report them to the Better Business Bureau and any other organization that has oversight of such medical services. As horrible as the service was, it was completed, so I probably don't have any recourse for a refund or disputed charge with my bank. All I can say is that my mom did get to and from her appointment alive. But traumatized.

I decided I want to prevent this from happening to another family. The driver, Steven, picked up my mom from a skilled nursing facility (in HB) and transported her to an assisted living home (in Garden Grove). He pulled into a high school parking lot and groped her under her shirt. A police report was filed but misdemeanors are too small to pursue for our overwhelmed police force. Steven was interviewed with a Vietnamese translator and denied anything happened. The police have his touch DNA on a shirt we submitted for evidence--so watch out Steven! Needless to say ALWAYS follow in a separate car whenever your loved one is being transported; or use an ambulance.

At 87, my mom experienced a devastating event that left her in relentless, excruciating pain for…read moretwo months, delirious and unable to do anything but be moved from her bed to a wheelchair. Riding in a normal car was out of the question so when her medical provider told us she needed to be in Irvine (12 miles away) by 6 a.m. on a specified date I had a job to do: I had to find a way to get her there. I won't tell you about the places I contacted that a) didn't respond b) couldn't handle such an early pick-up or c) were already booked. Instead I'll tell you about T&M Assisted Transportation Inc., a place I found on Yelp and was a bit leery of given how few reviews they had from people with hearty yelp profiles. Here's what happened: * I left a message on the 800# at night * I received a call back within 10 minutes. * I was quoted a price of $89 for round trip service, $110 if either leg occurs on a weekend. * I was asked to text the specific details of my request to a different phone number (non-800#) * I did, and received back immediate confirmation of my now scheduled ride. Call me paranoid, but I remained nervous about T&M not showing up. There was a lot riding on me getting Mom there and unlike some other services I've used, they requested no advance credit card payment. Still, they'd been so responsive that I crossed my fingers and said a little prayer. Voila. In the pitch black morning (5:10 a.m.) I received a text from the driver. She was outside and ready to transport us. T&M's van isn't fancy but it is fine. The driver safely secured my Mom's wheelchair and delivered her and her caregiver safely, and on time, to the hospital. (I met them there in a separate car). So now, T&M Assisted Transportation has another excellent review, this time from a yelper with a robust profile and that, to me, indicates that you can and should trust them. They are very responsive and reliable and won't let you down in your time of need. Some other stuff: * The second leg of my Mom's "round trip" was to a different address in a different city and not scheduled until days after the first trip. My experience scheduling this leg of the journey was responded to just as quickly and, though I couldn't get my ideal choice of times on such short notice, we were able to agree on an acceptable time. * Payment can be made by personal check once the rider has been delivered to their destination. * Serving all of Orange County and Los Angeles County and possibly more, just ask. * Operating 24/7, 365 days per year. * T&M's web site lists other services they provide. Based on my experience, I'd not hesitate to try them for whatever services they might offer. * Thank you, Monserrat, for your warmth and responsiveness to my initial contact and each additional contact. It is rare when people respond so quickly then follow through so professionally and it did not go unrecognized. You can count on T&M Assisted Transportation.

It is unfortunate, however, that anyone's family member had to be transported by this moron. While I was driving northbound on Harbor Boulevard at Union in Fullerton, traffic was merging into one lane. This douche bag comes speeding up from the right and tries to cram his van with less than 2 feet between the vehicle in front of me and the front end of my car. Traffic was only moving at about 10 to 15 mph but instead of relinquishing, he continued to force his van into my lane and at one point got within a couple of inches of the side of my vehicle. In order to avoid being hit, I had to move my vehicle more towards the center of the roadway because this idiot was not giving up. Finally, when traffic stopped and there was no place for him to go he had to continue further up the right lane and ended up forcing his vehicle in front of some other poor person because he needed to get over. I immediately found the number to shuttlemed and called them to let them know about this driver's road demeanor. While I was waiting to speak to someone he ultimately pulled into an office location at 1400 North Harbor Blvd. while I was on phone I managed to snap a couple of shots of the driver, his van, his license plate, and his vehicle ID number. He got out of his van and I told him that I thought he drove like crap and that I was getting one of his supervisors on the phone. You can see in the photo that I added that he was all thumbs up about it and couldn't care less. It was at this point I was completely shocked. He opened up the rear van doors and I could see that inside he was transporting someone in a wheelchair!!! It was at about this time the supervisor finally got on the phone and I explained the situation to him. He seemed as though he cared, however, he did seem a bit nonchalant about the whole event. He assured me that they would be looking into this incident and would be speaking with the driver about it. At the end of that call I did not get a good feeling that anything would happen. Prior to writing my review I read the other review left by someone else where it discussed the driver running a red light. It's apparent that shuttlemed is only interested in taking someone's money and trying to get someone from point A to point B whether it's safely or not. Unfortunately, on Yelp you have to click at least one star. If it was at all possible this company would get a -100 star review from me. IF YOU VALUE THE LIFE OF YOUR LOVED ONES YOU WILL NOT LET shuttlemed TRANSPORT THEM ANYWHERE!!!
