The second time I called (dead battery - also a victim of the heat), they were NOT pleasant or kind and I was told maybe they could make it out in a few hours. So I went with someone else, and I'm glad I did. So Allways is very hit-or-miss. Sometimes they are good and kind and sometimes they are rude and unhelpful. I have no clue what the difference was between the first time and the second time I called. I'm willing to give them more chances since the first time was so good. But honestly, if the second experience had been my first time with them, I would never call them again. With a 25 year old car, sometimes I will need towing. I know this, and I am willing to pay for it. But when you're spending well over $100 for a tow, you kinda expect a wee bit of politeness. They are ABSOLUTELY NOT 24 hour towing, either, depending on who you talk to. The first time, they asked if I wanted to pay the emergency tow charge or wait until rates dropped at 9:00 am. Since I knew my car would take a week to repair, I was willing to wait for the rates to drop to the daytime rate. The second time, I was totally willing to pay the night time tow charge, and was told point-blank they did not tow before 10:00 am, and they MIGHT be able to get to my place around 10:30. So, when you call, you're taking your chances on whether you get a polite person or a rude person. 9/28/23 - OK, cracked CV boot, going to try them for a 3rd time - let's see how it goes this time.

0/10 experience with Andrew B…read more I would strongly recommend getting a price in writing BEFORE allowing this company to come out, because my experience was extremely frustrating and felt like a bait-and-switch. I called specifically to ask how much the service would cost. Andrew B would not give me a price. I asked multiple times because I wanted to know the cost before agreeing to anything. Each time, he interrupted me and told me he was only five minutes away and that "we'll cut you a deal." He then said he was already on the way and needed my address and phone number. I made it very clear that I wanted to know the price before agreeing to the service. I never agreed to a $125 service call. When he arrived, I actually had my key and he was able to unlock the vehicle within approx 6 seconds. I simply could not turn the key. After looking at it, he attempted to charge me $125. I told him I had never agreed to that price and that I was not going to pay $125 when I had repeatedly asked for the price beforehand and was never given one. I offered $30 for the trip out. He countered with $90, and we continued negotiating. My friend ultimately paid $60 while I spoke with a supervisor by phone. After discussing the situation, I received a 50% refund. My issue isn't simply the amount of money. It's the fact that I repeatedly asked for the price before the service and was never given one. Instead, the technician came out, the price was presented afterward, and I was put in the position of negotiating a charge I had never agreed to. I am specifically disappointed with Andrew B handling of the situation. Customers should be given a clear price before a service is performed, especially when they specifically ask for one along with never even agreeing. Do not let anyone pressure you into paying a price you never agreed to.
