So, there I was, suddenly taking over the family business and along with that, inheriting a commercial building, that suffice to say, was left in a world of hurt. Among the many things that needed to be addressed was having the locks changed. After a brief search and a few quotes, I came across Noam and Ami. These 2 kind of work as a tag team, quite the efficient one at that. What may not be one's area of expertise, will certainly be the other's. They coordinate with one another to determine who is better suited for each particular job. Well, after providing details and photos of the job I needed done, I was given a quote between $350-$400 to re-key 7 door locks. At the high end, this would amount to $57.14 per lock in an area that reports list a cost range of $49.07 to $111.05 per lock. That's a fraction of the cost of some of the other quotes I received. I asked how soon it could be done and Ami informed me that he could meet me within a half hour. I was shocked by the expedition, especially considering the cold 37° weather that burdened us that day. Ami arrived on time, and before long after giving him the tour of the project, I left Ami the keys and went home. Four hours later, I returned and Ami had re-keyed all the locks I'd requested (7), and even through in an 8th door lock that I missed informing Ami before starting the project. Ami competed the entire task for only $395, which not only amounted to $49.38 per lock, but was also in accordance with his earlier quote. There was, however, one lock in particular that Ami re-keyed on a door that had a damaged panic bar on the other side of it. This resulted in the key not functioning properly on it. Ami informed me that the cost of replacing the panic bar could run $700 and up, but stated that he knew a guy that could fix it, and that if there's any way to save having to replace the panic bar, he'll find it. Ami made a call and shortly thereafter, Noam showed up. Noam gave me a thorough briefing on the condition of the panic bar, what was wrong with it and how he could fix it. Within about half an hour to 45 minutes, Noam had the key functioning properly on the door with the once damaged panic bar good as new. And he only charged $85 to do it. Excellent tag-in, Ami. What more can you ask for? All the work was sound and I was very much impressed. I highly recommend Ami and/or Noam for your rekeying/locksmith needs. read more
