The quality of care is consistently high, and the entire practice is both professional and patient-centered. The nurse practitioners -- Brian Mohler, Steffani Citak, and Lynn Hunt -- are attentive, knowledgeable, and thorough. They listen carefully, take concerns seriously, and provide clear guidance and follow-up. The clinical and administrative team is responsive, organized, and consistently professional. Scheduling is straightforward, communication is timely, and follow-up care is easy to manage. I also greatly appreciate the telehealth option. It is efficient, well-run, and genuinely useful, making access to care much easier when an in-person visit isn't necessary. I recently called to speak with Dr. Tunkle about a treatment for COVID that she would need to order for me. I called three times and told the person who answered the phone each time that it was very important that the order was taken care of as soon as possible. I was told the messages were in her bucket (inbox?). I never received a call from her and I will definitely be leaving her practice. Dr. Tunkle is very pleasant and easy to talk to. Compared to all of the doctors I have gone to in my life, I would rate her as average. My advice is to only focus on one thing with her. She seems to forget things. For example, I need a vaccination, there was an issue with a test result that she needs to reorder and I am having back pain. Without fail I always seem to leave with only 1 of those things taken care of. Then I either have to go back or I have to call her office to take care of the rest. I've learned that, in this town, a doctor who treats their Medicare patients with respect and dignity is very, very rare. But Dr. Tunkle is a cut above the rest. I go to her for every little thing, and I know her time with each patient is limited. Nonetheless, she's exceptionally patient, explains things and never makes me feel insignificant. My only complaint is that her office (like most) will call you with any test results. If no significant problems were discovered, you're left with no answers. When I called to make an appointment the staff member I spoke with was short and spoke like she was doing me a favor by answering the phone. She was a little rude and gave me a bad feeling about going in the way she spoke to me. I thought maybe she was having an off day and gave the office the benefit of the doubt. When I arrived for my 8:45 appointment on January 29th, 2019 I was checking in with a nice woman and then a different staff member came up behind her and wanted verify I was there for my "female checkup". I said yes, a little confused because I had made the appointment for that service and then she proceeded to tell me they could not preform that without a physical as well. I said I was there for the "female checkup" and she said since they're not a GYN they have to preform the physical. I asked if there was a pricing difference because I was paying out of pocket. This woman said she didn't know and left to go check. A couple minutes later she comes back into view and without acknowledging me whatsoever she says to the nice woman checking me in "go ahead and check her in. They'll figure it out back there. Keep it as it is." And then the nice lady checks me in. I'm thinking to myself, why wasn't this addressed when I made my appointment? Are you going to tell me the pricing?When making an appointment they go through all these steps to verify who I am and what I'm coming in for, they don't check prerequisites for services? I came to the office to check up on something potentially serious. I felt that the staff acted like I didn't matter and they were shuffling me through. I should've read the vibe of the lady on the appointment phone call and knew that this office wasn't looking out for their patients. I'm not a person to leave a bad review but I felt that the community should know what kind of attitude and service they will receive at this office. So after I sat there for a moment upset and unsure of what was even going to happen with this appointment I got up and told another woman (the two women I originally delt with weren't at the front at this point) I had to leave and would not be taking my appointment. Dr Ashely Tunkle is one of the best doctors I've ever had. She's been my general practitioner since 2005, for 10 years. She is very down to earth, modern, very mindful and educated (as all doctors should be). I've been to her every year and sometimes several times per year when surprise medial issues arise as they sometimes do. My general check ups have always gone smooth. When I've needed a specialist, she's had great referrals. When I've called the morning-of waking up to a sore throat or alarming aches n pains, her office staff and assistant Jennifer have always treated me with respect and compassion, getting me in to see Dr Tunkle ASAP. I've always felt comfortable in her office, in her examination room and in her presence. Her staff and assistant have great follow-up. Billing has consistently run smooth. I trust and confide in Dr Tunkle 100% and because of my encouragement, 2 of my friends have gladly started going to her as their primary care physician. Dr Tunkle recently switched to Millennium Physician Group from NCH, which is fine, as she's located in the same building off Goodlette Rd in Central Naples. So disappointed with Dr Tunkle. From the staff, her PA, to the billing and the Dr herself. Expect to be treated rudely by her staff. You will be made to feel that they are doing you a HUGE favor. When you call to make an appointment there is a very limited window 8:30 to 3:30 with an hour for lunch. You will be met with heaving and sighing as you try to schedule something. When you arrive (you better be early) you will be made to wait at least 15 minutes after your appointment time. Be aware that If you are at all late for your appointment you will not be seen (remember they are doing you a favor even though you are paying for her services). Had to see her PA Last time because my daughter was sick and they would only squeeze her in the following day with the PA. I must be used to a different level of service. My former doctors were generally able to squeeze sick people in same day when you call first thing in the morning not end of day the next day. Her PA Jennifer? was a joke. Examination was less than a minute and we were told she was fine. Cut to me at the emergency room 24 hrs later with a massive ear infection for my child. The final insult for this office is CHECK YOUR BILL! If doctor Tunkle mentions something during your visit or asks you a question you will be charged for it. So if you have a heart condition and have a cardiologist and she asks you medical history and you say you have a heart condition. Guess what, you will be charged a couple hundred dollars for a heart consult on top of your regular doctor visit. I would never see a Family practitioner for a heart appointment when I've had two heart surgeries. Just because I answer medical history questions does not a consultation make. read more
