The shop has a large selection of backpacks, luggage, and important travel goods. It's a great place to grab an outlet converter or something else you'll surely need in a trip. Bag and Baggage also carries some really high quality leather portfolios for note taking, wallets, and other goods. Besides items in stock, Bag and Baggage also does custom luggage name tags. They were able to change the names on three pieces of luggage in a pretty fast fashion. The work looks great and will definitely last. The shop was also considerate enough to put the old tags in a ziploc bag for us to potentially reuse or keep. The workers at Bag and Baggage are also super sweet. They've helped my family out so many times and done such great custom work. They were also very helpful when we forgot a bag in the store and kept it until we could pick it up.

I am a huge supporter or "Buy Local" until crap experiences like this happen from closed minded retailers who refuse to be creative with their vendors in order to provide top-notch service to their customers. When there aren't tons of other choices, local retailers used to get by with this crap, but today that's just not the case. WARNING... if you happen to purchase a bag that turns out to be a real dud on the first trip you take it on, you can kiss your money goodbye, in my case $550.00, because the stated 30-day return policy is null and void if the bag travels even as a carry-on on a single trip. I didn't want to return it, I just wanted to exchange it for a bag that met my needs better of the same value. Unfortunately, I was met with no willingness to get creative such as exchanging the bag and charging me $50.00 to take it back. That way they could sell it to someone looking for a discount. The bag still looks brand new. Instead, I now will no longer do business at Bag & Baggage, I'm sharing my negative experience with the masses in hopes to save others from the same bad experience, and possibly encourage positive change from this retailer. Part of this refusal to provide great customer service is backed by the vendor, in this case, Briggs & Riley. The makers of tough bags, but customer service that begs for a serious uplift.

Marissa was attentive, patient, accommodating, polite, friendly, easy to talk to, and so incredibly knowledgeable. She asked me tons of questions to truly get a feel for what I needed out of a suitcase and guided me in the exact right direction. I also love that this is a local KC business (which is actually celebrating its 40th year anniversary this weekend)!! The Overland Park location has everything you could ever need as a hardcore traveler, either for work or for pleasure. There are lots of newer "upscale" luggage retailers online, but I hate that i can't actually feel/see/test their products before sinking 400+ dollars into them and this store completely negated that issue for me. They offer the same quality of luggage, at about the same prices, but you can actually get a feel for what you're buying before you invest. Away and Nomatic LOOK nice, but how can you tell if they actually are? After buying from Bag and Baggage, I know 100% without a doubt that i bought a quality piece of luggage that will last, and even if something does go wrong, the store offers all sorts of repair services and other ways to make sure you are taken care of as well as your luggage. Seriously people, this store is AMAZING. Please, if you're in the KC area, consider shopping locally with them. This is my first stop if I want a new pair of jeans or a purse for a special outing. The home decor is always changing with new items coming in daily, I have found lots of nice items at great prices. It's a consignment shop and they are pretty picky with what they accept and when....which is good! And I'm always surprised how much I have in my account from my consignments! You can always cash out or use the money for your purchases! It's really a great place to shop!!!!

I've personally met the owner and I can see why her staff are the way that they are. Rude, off-putting, never greet you when you come in the door etc. The ONLY great things about this store are the hidden gems, overall prices and $1 rack. I come back each year hoping for a good experience and leave with the same impression but I always find something good off the $1 rack. Thankfully that hasn't changed!
