This planner did not even try to find out who the members of the grooms family were. Because I chose a suite next to my sons room, my room faced where the weddding was to be. The rest of my family who did not want to pay what I did for the suite were as far away from the wedding as possible. At the wedding ceremony, the wedding planner told my family not to sit in the front row. So my sons Grandma was forced to sit in the back. The wedding planner was not there for the bride on the day of the wedding. Wi fi was out so the bride could not print out her vows she wrote. Wedding planner disappeared. At 2 different events I was told I could not go into the dinner event and party event because it was private even after I explained I was the mother of the groom. Times for events changed and there was no coordination with the wedding planner to let our family know what was going on. I was the one running around the hotel trying to pull people together. The groom and the groomsmen were not ready for photos because no one bothered to tell them. The final straw was at the at the wedding dinner. The wedding planner had zero control. When people wanted to stand up and speak, the DJ's just kept playing music During the day it was extremely hot and windy and you would expect her to be dressed for running around the hotel to make sure all the finishing touches were in place. You would not expect her to be wearing the same thing for the event! She was dressed inappropriately for the wedding and dinner event. I would never recommend this company to anyone having a beach wedding at the "The Beach" or "Cabanas Hotel". If I was the one that picked them I would have demanded a refund. This was awful. The Beach Hotel and Ziggy's Bar did a great job with all the decor and made this very special for my son and daughter....I would only make one suggesting they get a real dance floor and not whatever it is they called a dance floor. We did make a reservation, although the space was surprisingly empty at 7pm. We do know we came as the season is winding down, but for how good this food is, this place should always be packed. Our waitress was delightful - attentive, helped to explain every dish and the dishes all came out quickly but nothing felt rushed. The vibe is very jungle chic with open air seating, slightly covered by large leaf structures. Lots of candles and mood lighting. The menu offered quite the diverse selection of food options with a focus on traditional but elevated Mexican flavors. We started with some signature cocktails - my husband the mustachio whiskey drink and I had the wildfire. Both were perfectly mixed with great flavors. I will note the wildfire was more tart than spiced and did come with a fun flame element (sadly no pic). Also of note, the passionfruit that is used in this drink is a local fruit that is far more tart than other passionfruit you may have experienced. If you like a tart refreshing drink, this is your pick. We shared many dishes - the first was the pork rind with street corn dip. WOW. The pork rind seasoning was absolutely delicious and the serving size of street corn was epic. So rich, so delicious. We also shared the fried avocado - truly, the local avocados are heaven sent and the pumpkin seed purée was perfectly developed and spiced. Next up, larger dishes included the corn ravioli - this was so rich, and swimming in delicious truffle flavor. The raviolis were huge and there were 6 of them. The foam and nest elements while very pretty were also equally delicious. Not something that I often say when it comes to foam on plates. Finally, we had the shrimp main - I cannot put into words how amazing this dish was. The sauce was spicy, garlicky, and clearly developed over many hours. You could taste the time put into this. The shrimp were so tender the heads and tails just fell off. It comes with a side of bread and you will want to soak up every drop of this sauce with the toasted bread. I was in the process of waiting for more, but Jonhy followed up to make sure I did not have any questions. I really appreciated the proactiveness and also loved his pictures. We agreed to use him and my brother-in-law and fiance did too and decided to also use him for their engagement photos, since they were going to be in Cancun with us. Couple of days before, he followed-up with us via email and went over the schedule and where to meet. He was 15 minutes early and he even scheduled out 30 minutes prior, so he can scope out the resort for the best location for pictures. Again, proactive and professional! During pictures, not only did he make us feel comfortable, he made us laugh, including my 3 and 1 year old boys! He made sure our hair, hands, clothes, and smiles were all in position. I appreciated his attention to details. He was patient with us and guided us to make sure our photos did not come out awkward. He really took his time and make sure we got a variety of shots. We were so excited to see the Photos/Videos to come. I had added a Photo Booth for the reception but it was unfortunately forgotten by the team. Of course that's a bummer but, what're ya gonna do. I waited to ask for an ETA (July 22), estimate was ~2m, and about a refund on the photo booth. Was told they were being worked on and Photo booth refund was incoming. We got our first teaser video 9/2, almost 4 months later. He posted some of our photos to Facebook 9/3 and we got our edited gallery 9/4. When we did finally get the rest (full video/unedited photos) our Ceremony was not in it. After another email it was added. We eventually got our full order November 24th, nearly 6 months later. The photos are beautiful (the video is alright) and worth the wait but some updates would have gone a long way. Being a bride not sure you're ever going to get your full order is a terrible feeling. The pricing is super fair. just be fully prepared to wait. We are nearing a year and I still have not received a refund for the forgotten photo booth. Ivan has stopped answering my emails.
