First off, my husband and I don't consider ourselves photogenic, so when I started looking for photographers for our wedding, I didn't want them to make us do a lot of poses, which would makes us feel even more uncomfortable. Amber Kelley Photography caught my attention because they captured what I was looking for, which was the use of natural lighting and capturing the moments in a genuine way. My husband and I wanted to do our engagement photos at Pedernales Falls State Park but it would require hiking and climbing up and down rocks. When we told Amber and Zack that was where we would like to our engagement photos, they were as enthusiastic and up for the adventure as we were. During our engagement shoot, we had such a great time with Amber and Zack. It was like we were hiking with friends just enjoying the day and capturing the moments. The engagement photos came out wonderful. They were so beautiful and Amber and Zack actually got them to us early, which was great because I was able to use them for our save-the-dates. As it got closer to our wedding, Amber and Zack checked in with us to confirm times and details, and I was always able to get ahold of them with questions. On the big day, it was awesome having Amber in the bridal suite and Zack in the groom suite to capture us both getting ready and spending time with friends and family before the wedding. Amber was so patient with me. I was dealing with a roller coaster of emotions before the wedding. I had a videographer as well at my wedding and Amber and Zack worked so well with him during the ceremony and reception. During the ceremony, I loved how Amber and Zack were able to catch different angles of the ceremony. After the ceremony, we had family and wedding party photos. Amber and Zack did great coordinating this. We were able to finish right on time as the cocktail hour was ending leading into dinner. During the reception, Amber and Zack were on top of capturing everyone dancing, which was important to us because we love dancing, and were able to even sneak in photos of my husband and I by the fire. At the end of the night, we had sparklers during our send off and some special request photos that we wanted with sparklers. Amber and Zack did great capturing them all! I truly can't say enough great things about Amber and Zack. They are so creative, talented, patient and accommodating. My fiancée and I are not photo people, so it took us a lot of deliberation to decide if we should hire a photographer in the first place. We finally came to the conclusion that no one remembers anything from the wedding day except what is memorialized in photographs. If we had a video made, chances are we would never watch it, but photos? We would most definitely look back through those. We didn't know much about photography, but we spent hours and hours doing research on both general wedding photography and photographers in the area. After all of our research, we only elected to request an interview with Amber and one other photographer. They were fun, professional, and well prepared. After looking through some of the photos that they brought to the meeting, we were able to get a good feel for both her excellent photo technique and editing abilities. My fiancée and I simply had no idea what to expect from a scheduled on-site photo shoot. The engagement shoot went swimmingly, better than we could have ever hoped, and we ended up having a lot of fun and getting some great photos taken. We used Amber Kelley Photography for our engagement, bridals and wedding photos. I found them because I had seen a friend form work's wedding photos and I loved the candid shots. My husband does not like having his photo taken and is very impatient with pictures so I knew whatever photographer we chose had their work cut out for them. Our Engagement session was first and the Summer and her assistant made my husband and I feel at ease and we were even having fun and laughing by then end of the session. They even let us bring our dogs in towards the end and we got a great "family" photo with our dogs that is now blown up and hanging in our living room. My Bridals were next and I was super nervous because it was going to be just me and I didn't want it to be obvious that I was nervous in the photos. Katy was my photographer and she made me feel comfortable from the moment she stepped into the bridal cottage and saw me in my dress. She had great vision and we were able to move furniture around and the photos were amazing. It was very hard to keep them from my Husband for the 6 weeks leading up to the wedding. On our wedding day we had Zack and Summer and they did am amazing job coordinating our large family for the posed shots and also getting a lot of great candid shots which were my favorite. I still find myself two months later browsing through the 700 plus photos finding amazing pictures that I didn't see the first time around. Amber and Zack were very professional and always responded quickly to my emails even though I know they are constantly travelling so that's got to be hard. Their team was amazing to work with and when we are ready to schedule family photos, I will definitely go to them first. They are a family business and are great at what they do; it takes a special person to get my husband to come out of his shell and they mastered that in our first photo shoot so I knew from then on that we were in great hands. One of the most important and difficult wedding decision to make, aside from choosing the venue, is choosing your photographer. The reason is simple, your pictures are going to be your most vivid recollection of those precious and wonderful moments. You cannot afford to make a mistake when choosing your photographer. That is why I started an exhaustive search to find the right photographers, and that's when I met Amber and Zack. What a wonderful and cute couple. I really felt comfortable when talking to them, they are very professional and take the time to listen to what you want, while giving you some recommendations of what to do to get the best shots. I would recommend that you show them what style of pictures you want for your wedding (I showed them my Pinterest collection), and they will tell you exactly how, what and where to take those shots. I would definitely recommend that you go with the two photographers package. The main reason is that Amber and Zack are married, so they know very well how to work with each other and how to take the best shots. This is a small detail that people don't notice, but one that will make a huge difference during your big day. Amber and Zack will guide you through the photoshoot process, so that your pictures look very natural, not artificial. And when they don't tell you anything, don't worry, they are taking pictures while you're not looking and capturing all the emotions of that moment! My experience with Amber Kelley Photography was far surpassed what I could have ever imagined. It's not easy finding the "perfect" photographer and you probably never will. But, I can say that I believe I have found the closest people to it! My fiancé and I had our engagement photo session with Amber Photography last week in Austin and I can honestly say we have created an ever-lasting relationship with them. If you don't live in Austin Texas but have an address in the United States of America it is worth the drive to use Amber Kelly Photography! Or just make it simple and fly her to see you. My co-worker referred me to Amber for a head shot for my business card and social media sites. Amber answered my call, heard my situation (needed asap) and literally said "I can do it tomorrow" even though she had a full day the next day. She charged an extremely fair price and her editing was spectacular. In the past, the photographers I have used would over edit the photos which made them look fake. Amber did a great job at editing the photos; adding backgrounds and adjusting lighting. I was so impressed that I started referring her to everyone that mentioned wedding, baby shower, school photos or any other occasion that required a photographer. I recently started my own business called Line Cutterz. Before we launched on Kickstarter, I needed photos for the campaign so of course I asked Amber to take some pics. She gave me a fair price and we met at Lake Pflugerville. I had some challenging shots for her to take when in my kayak and on the beach with people in the background. She was able to capture the most amazing pictures that I have even seen. She captured the story that I was trying to tell in one photo. Our great experience with Amber Kelley Photography started long before our engagement shoot with them! My fiance and I originally hired them to shoot our wedding due to the fact that we loved their portfolio and that they were graciously willing to work within our budget. Six months out, we decided to put our money into a house instead and just get married by the court. We were very happy with this decision, but were worried about having to walk away from a lot of deposits we had already put down. Even though our venue ended up keeping $3,000 that we had put into it for being 3 days past their six month cancellation policy, Amber Kelley Photography didn't just walk away with our deposit, in which they had every right to do according to our contact. They agreed to let us do an engagement shoot in exchange for the money we had put down, at no additional charge. Very generous of them! We are so happy they gave us the opportunity to still work with them, as our shoot went better than we could have even hoped. I am very camera shy and always feel awkward or uncomfortable when my picture is being taken. Not the case this time! Amber and Zack are amazing! We commissioned them to do our engagements and our wedding in December. From the first meeting we had with them my fiancée and I both left feeling so excited to work with them. They are incredibly personable, kind, patient, and hilarious. My fiancé and I had no idea what we were doing and they were great at putting us into the right positions and catching the natural moments. Amber was very personable from the moment I contacted her over the phone to photograph our really intimate six-person wedding. We were on a tight budget, and because we picked a weekday, she gave us a good price, which was awesome. We also liked that she'd worked at Chapel Dulcinea in Austin before, our venue of choice, so she knew the best places to explore with us with her camera. We love how well the pictures turned out - she did both photojournalistic ones as well as portraits, and they all impressed us. On the day, she was fun to have around, she wasn't pushy, she was open to suggestions, and she was an all-around lovely person. She had come to our house for a consultation, and we picked her just for her good-natured personality, on top of her portfolio. I love how she captured the raw and rustic Texas landscape in the background while showcasing just how happy we were that day. She also came back with around 30 pictures for us to share with friends and family within three days of the wedding. We used Amber Kelley Photography for our engagement pictures recently and already have them booked for the bridals and the wedding. Amber and Zach were so great! They met with me a few times prior to booking to discuss all my desires and answer all my questions and then to meet again to answer all my parents questions! The most amazing, positive, and cutest photographer couple in the world - I can't imagine our wedding day without having Amber and Zack there to crack jokes, give us awesome advice on how to take pictures, and share their experiences and stories with us.
