From the sounds of the waves to the Flintstone-like gym equipment, Tulum Jungle Gym provides a great experience. This spot met all expectations from the videos seen online and is even better if you have some good pals with you to share the experience. You have your traditional gym equipment like dumbbells, squat rack, and barbells. You also have unique equipment like a basket to pull a friend up through a row exercise. The staff members are very friendly and helpful with any questions.

I don't know what the previous review for the reception was about but the guys were cool. They were quick, informative and efficient. Overall atmosphere at the gym was great. Came for two days and met a lot of different people. Its a little touristy place that a lot of people came just for pictures, but overall they respect your workout and are willing to wait until you're done.

Such a cool experience. I've been following this gym for a while on Instagram so when we booked our trip to Tulum I knew I had to make a trip here. It's not just for shoe, you actually get a really good workout and the view of the beach is amazing. If your in the area I definitely would stop in!

I really cant say enough about this gym! It is so cool that you dont need a shirt or shoes! The equipment is clean (just a little sand) working out on the beach is motivating and relaxing. Weight to yoga you will find everything you need here. If you stay at Alaya eco hotel you dont have to pay to work out here. Don't forget your super sweet Tank top men and women sizes available!

Seriously an amazing concept and spot to enjoy a nice workout beachfront. Very cool concept with so much detail. For those of us that love a good photo/video opp, this is it. Come comfortable in swimwear get a workout in and hit the pool or beach... Definitely a must visit while in tulum if you are a fitness freak like myself.

Wow. What a awesome experience. Even if you don't workout you should come here, it may inspire you to start! Everything reminded me of the flinstones - we spent hours here! it's right on the beach, what a experience!

The worker coming with a stick to attack me and my girlfriend. Then he came with a machete from the side back gate.

Tulum Jungle Gym has a very big problem and possibly lawsuit coming. I was attacked with a Machete by one of there workers who flipped out and had to be held back by other employees. This man who is seen in the picture was harassing my girlfriend trying to talk to her and she politely told him to stop asking her questions. She called me over and he went away. Then during closing he called her rude and I told him to not talk to her. We went back and forth exchanging words and opinions, next thing I know the worker comes with a stick which is shown on the picture. I didn't step away from him but the worker stopped him. 2 mins later he comes running with a large machete saying I'm going to kill you. I ran from the danger and he was chasing me on the sand. Luckily I'm fit and able to outrun him. He then had people calm him down, then he had people follow us to our hotel. We were and still feel like we are in danger. I already went to the police and I am very upset that the staff defended him by saying you guys were exchanging words, I told them it's never right to get a knife and try to kill a customer. They refused to give me his name, however I have everything on video and people recorded him with the machete. HE KEPT SCREAMING F AMERICANS in Spanish. He called my girlfriend a B word and is very disrespectful, and racist.

Found this playground on Instagram and flew to Tulum Mexico from Austin Texas to give it a try! Why can't we have one of these in Austin? I promise to work out everyday! I love how this place is super green. Like no plastic water bottles here homies! Drink your water out of a bamboo cup and store your belongings in the little complimentary bamboo locker while you're at it! We took a cab from our hotel in Riviera Maya (Hotel Unico)$40 to Tulum and got dropped off in front of the hotel that hosts this gym. (They get free day passes) we walked thru the lobby and down to paradise. Greeted by a friendly buff group who gave us the run down and got us ready to sweat! You can choose to do their daily circuit workout or do your own thing. There is also a nice pad.. (wooden floor) for yoga and stretching. Lots of fun friendly people.. locals and the vacationers... this place is well taken care of and they are constantly cleaning and sweeping up. They typically have a gym dog there names Tripod. He wasn't there when I went.. I almost docked a star for that ;) If you're a fitness enthusiast, this is a must stop while in Tulum. $25 per person for a day pass. They provide water towels and lockers. Have fun!

This was a neat gym right next to the beach. Stays open until 5. However the only down side is that they recently changed locations so we didn't really get to use all the amenities because they where still being installed. The guy at the front was really nice and helpful. All the weights are made out of wood or concrete. This locations makes for awesome insta worthy pics!

Great time !

Outstanding workout in Tulum. We came with 8 people for an 0830 workout and the staff was very accommodating and put us through an outstanding workout . Amazing beach location and very unique experience . Definitely recommend.

The gym is on Satellite street, but yelp has it on the Main Street…read more In general the gym is a good overall option. BUT definitely theres room to improve. The day pass is about $17, or $250 pesos. Plus is that they do accept credit cards. The monthly pass is $950 pesos which is about $50 a month so if you're going to come at least 3 times you should just get the month pass. The gym is 3 levels. Level 1 is bikes plus bathrooms, 2 is mainly treadmills, 3 is weight lifting. The gym needs to pump up the AC! Way too warm in here. And with the humidity in the area you need it to run a long distance. When they gym was brand new I think it was maintained a bit better but there's a layer of dirt on all the machines. Please wipe them off. They also have in house personal trainers that you can work with but you pay the trainers directly. Front desk reception staff was nice and gave me the WiFi code when I asked for it. But this is something that should be posted and available to guests. Please post it somewhere!

One is smiling, nice and trying to assist and the other one, her name is Monica I would not employ even in a funeral home. She is totally not helpful, ignores requests. The equipment is good and in a different variety but I would suggest the owner: 1. Keep the all AC units on during the whole day. Even the 4 units are not sufficient to the size of the place. 2. Have a recipient who knows some English, friendly and customer service oriented. This girl is not doing any good to your business.

Whenever I stay in Playa and not in an all inclusive (which I quite prefer...all inclusives are not…read moremy thing, especially in this town with so many great places to go to), then I'll go to this gym. I have been going there for two years now during my stays and have always been treated absolutely great. They have a great team of staff. The gym itself has all the machines one needs to do a full workout. It is a bit tight in some places, but I've never struggled with that. In my opinion, this place rocks and I know I am not alone with that opinion, as the place is very well attended. When you go, don't forget to try one of their before or after workout drinks they make there. I can only recommend this place!! Well done, your My Gym of choice in Playa, hands down!!

The Gym is in the same area as Evolve (just 2 blocks away) it is more expensive for a month I think…read moreit was around 75$ for The Gym which I think is outrageous for Mexico, but sigh welcome to 2020- what isn't insane at this point, and around $45 for Evolve. At the Gym I know its cheaper for locals to visit so if you have a Mexican friend or contact, see if they can get the membership for you. There's no pool, jacuzzi, steam room or sauna. Lockers are included and during the covid error they give you a free towel when your first join and thats it - no towel service. There are showers and a changing area. If you're debating between here and Evolve...and you want to live....come here. I joined for a month during the CoVid era and this was the only gym I thought wouldn't kill me. The crossfit gyms, though cheap in comparison to states, were not airy enough for me and at the Evolve gyms no one followed the mask rules. The main Evolve gym on 5th just felt like one big petri dish of coronavirus - the way it is designed (just one big open space) and the fake that ppl didn't even fake wearing their mask, ugh and it was hot after walking up maybe 7 steps to get to the main area....I may not be in Olympic shape but Im not sure they have proper ventilation or strong enough AC, at The Gym I didn't sweat just from walking or around. Other than that both checked my temperature upon entering the facilities and had hand sanitizer on deck. One more perk of The Gym, is that they close every.single.day from 12 - 2 to do a deep cleaning. Not sure if Evolve does that as well but its nice to know they are trying to keep ppl virus free. The smoothie bar is currently closed. The Gym has all the machines you can think of and it wasn't that crowded when I went in the mornings. They still have fitness classes which they limit the number of participants, but I still wouldn't recommend it - they close the door to the fitness room and don't require you to wear a mask when in class...can you say corona?! Yet, if you are in the other part of the gym the open area - you have to keep the mask on over your nose and mouth even if you are on the treadmill. I've seen one person with their nose out and one wanna be cosmetically enhanced influencer with her mask as a chin strap but other than that, over 30 days ppl wanted to live and wear their mask correctly over their nose and mouth. There's a bike rack out front across the street and the area seems super safe and just to help out the males if you're looking for a local fit boo this is the place, there was always more woman than men in the gym everytime I went. See ya there!

I contacted them through Facebook and they came back with $10 for the drop in. I was disappointed they were out of T-shirts, but I plan to come back anyway so not a big deal. The box is conveniently located and has a really cool inside/outside feel to it. Again, can't say enough about what a great guy Milo is and why I will come back to train there again.

Habanero Crossfit is exactly what you would expect from a Crossfit box in Mexico. I emailed them…read morevia facebook (because their website email doesn't work), and the owner responded that the cost for a drop is was $39 per day. I wrote back and basically said, thanks but no thanks. They came back a few times over email and we agreed on $20, which is totally reasonable. But, when I arrived, it magically ended up costing me 100 pesos per day. So whatever. Milo was awesome as a coach. If it weren't for him, I wouldn't have gone back a second day. He gave me a great WOD that kicked my ass and then worked with me on my technique for muscle-ups. He was super frienly and really excited about the sport of CF. Exactly what you want in a coach. The equipment is ok. It's nice that the gym partially outside. I'd give this place a solid 3.5 stars. The equipment is a bit old and the pricing structure for non-mexicans is insulting. But, one coach made up for it. Because it is the only box in Cozumel, I'd go back again for a few more drop ins.

A 4 because the young skinny guy manager is an amazing person and has can turn it into a 4 or 5…read morestar gym. Most staff are amazing especially the pretty women and hot guys. One lady (35-40s) , an older lady (40s) and an older man who runs the nutrition section which you have to do a bank transfer for a bottle of electrolytes and won't even make a smoothie after like 6pm, don't seem to care about people, or their job. The main young hot manager guy is epic. He is going places in life. As a former club manager, runway model for DNA, natural bodybuilding champion maker (Venice Beach's Muscle Mania) , and over-achiever (learning disabled diagnosed at 16 but got a 3.67GPA at NYU's prestigious DPD) So I know talent when I see it. I gave my new style training, nutrition and natty supps business plan to a buddy back in 2005, with the same loving, caring demeanor, friendly go above and beyond because you care attitude and he is now a millionaire in Scottsdale, AZ and even told my brother he owes me his life when he ran into him back at our hometown. That's just an example of how this one Manager can make that place POP and Make money hand over fist. 1. The nutrition section is a GOLD MINE. You cant have a guy who doesn't want to make protein smoothies there and only accepts bank transfers. It's a hassle and people especially serious bodybuilders, and professional Athletes do not have time for all that. It also shows gives the impression that this smoothie guy does not care about the customer. So I would rather spend money downstairs at the heath food store with the women there who care about me and smile and help me out than ruin my good mood I need for hardcore training talking to a guy being rude on purpose while I try my best to stay polite as long as I can. 2. Selling Top Tier Supplements up there will bring in at least 200k a year net. The Supplement Smoothie Section is a mess. I was trying to be nice to try and read the list of mushed up tiny hard to read lettering and help this old guy make some money but his attitude and set up was so bad it was a huge turn off. I bought an electrolyte bottle eventually which took me 15 mins because he intentionally kept trying to give me a hard time pointing to the wrong bottles on purpose. 3. The machines are awesome for a starter top tier in the making gym. - Next thing to do is add in some Artificial Grass (soccer or football style) with High Quality Sleds. - Some sports style training equipment like tied or weighted soccer balls, or ask gym goers what sport equipment they would want and you're golden. That stuff is also very inexpensive especially if you refurbish it yourself. You can make it look better than store bought with your own style. 4. The elevator is broken a lot, and there are no signs to tell you where to go. That is a huge way to lose customers especially when there is a club next door. 5. Locker rooms are awesome 6. No Professional looking personal trainers. 7. No personal training section for VIP members that bought training. 8. No certified nutritionist 9. TRX area is a mess. And no one is there cause no one knows how to use that stuff. You need a trainer there at all times. That is an invention from an ex-navy seals, you will get nothing out of it if there is no one there to teach you how to use the equipment. 10. Get some gigantic men and women trainers. Does not matter what certification they have, even the best certification is not that much better than the others. The ONLY certification that is worth its weight in GOLD is called the NSCA. NASM is garbage, I skimmed the book in a week and passed the test. It is a commercial gym money making certification agreement to make money off of naive unassuming new trainers. ACSM = garbage. It's for training maybe an 80 yr old. They are all garbage except the NSCA and a professional athlete you meet in the gym who directs you to the right training manuals and methods. For that you have to be lucky and have humility. 11. This gym has HUGE potential. Their skinny but enthusiastic manager is someone who given full responsibility could turn that gym into something special. 12. It doesn't help when there is no signage to tell you how to actually get to the gym when you are in the mall. 13. The young slim manager was the only reason I did not cancel and go to the nearby gym. Once that kid gets huge and knows equipment, invests in TVs, an actual money machine supplement juice bar (get some young fast customer service oriented kids, keep the old guy for back management to be respectful to his age and long service. And you will make hand over fist with the right fruits, proteins, creations, glutamines, aminos, vitamin drink shots, on the table ready to go and buy fast. on the fly. Card in, card out, shot of vitamin energy or protein mass concoction, get some pros to walk around. That place changes. Heck that mall changes. Pros in Mexico to come in once a month is worth the cost.
