I am in complete shocked that a company would turn a patient away who could not see due to a billing error. My husband who is a patient of Dr. Tosi was turned away today due to billing issues. My husband was recently approved for Medicare and he also has BCBS. BCBS and Medicare are kicking claims back and forth to each other, I have spent countless hours on the phone trying to get this corrected. My husband has adquate coverage with no copay so this is a problem with both insurance companies going back and forth. Today he had an appointment and was turned away, My husband cannot see at all and really needed this appointment since he has been hospitalized for the last 3 months and has not had any eye treatments. I explained to the rude lady on the phone by the name of Candice that we have coverage and soon the issue should be taken care of please don't turn a patient away who cannot see. She didn't care and refused to offer or show any compassion. I will get the situation corrected eventually but I refuse to come back to this clinic, which is really heartbreaking because we Love Dr. Tosi but Candice left a bad taste. I had a detached retina in my right eye that occurred suddenly in July 2022. It was diagnosed late on a Wednesday afternoon in July 2022. I was scheduled for emergency surgery a day and a half later for the following Friday morning. The surgeon didn't play around. He was very professional and concerned with my vision. On the morning of the surgery, the staff was awesome. Everyone was friendly, kind and courteous. I will always appreciate the effort and concern they showed to me. I have been back several times for follow up check ups and a preventive "tack welding" of my other eye to prevent it from having the same detachment occurring with it as with the other eye. The staff has always been professional and courteous to me. Sure, there are many people in the waiting room to be seen and you have to wait for several minutes. But there are a lot of people (mostly older) that have issues with their eyes so of course you'll have to wait. Some days the wait is shorter, other days the wait is longer but you do get seen. My experience has always been positive. I still have vision in my right eye because of TRA. I will keep going to them. read more

The physician I saw treated me well, took time to explain my condition, and helped me set up my future care at a facility closer to my home.

We were from out of state. My husband had trouble with his vision in one eye only. An ER doctor told him to see an ophthalmologist. We spoke to an ophthalmologist in Muskogee. They told us to go to Tulsa retinal Consultants. I am so happy we went there. They worked him in that day and did laser surgery to repair 2 tears in the retina. All of the staff was friendly and seemed genuinely caring. Dr Hromas was excellent. He explained everything so we could understand. We could not have gotten better care anywhere else. read more

I ended up cancelling my appointment, because of the flippant way they schedule and how they treat you on the phone....If this front end treatment is any indicator of the doctors and their employees, then I want no part of it. Now, I have read reviews and most are negative...I am not surprised. If I have to go to Oklahoma City to be seen, so be it....but I have no plans to be any part of this horrible treatment. I worked for a surgeon's office for 20 years and we never treated people this way. Beware of this office and the way they treat people. read more

I took my 97 year old father in to appointment with Dr. Finley at the Bartlesville location on Tuesday. Dad is close to blind and hard of hearing. We had previously been going to Dr. Parschauer at the Tulsa location for injections but since we live closer to Bartlesville we visited this location. I have never been treated with such disrespect and rudeness as we encountered at this facility. Dr. Finley was arrogant and would not address our concern and would not even discuss anything with us. His only comment was to make another appointment in 8 weeks ! His nurse, Angie was the best part of the whole experience and she tried to explain why Finley was so abrupt and would not talk to us. She said it was because he did not have time to do anything but inject. This was the most unprofessional Facility , from discussing billing issues with elderly patients in the waiting room in the presence of everyone to having a technician call out to us from his desk , while we waited in hallway instead of coming out to get us. Most of the patients here were elderly and it makes me sad that they are treated with such rudeness and so little compassion. read more

My annual retina checkup began promptly at 8:00 am as scheduled, and all was completed before 8:45 am, with minimal waiting and good physical spacing in waiting areas. All professional staff that I encountered during my visit were very kind and respectful, and my questions were answered to my satisfaction. The facility was quite clean, including restrooms, and everyone wore masks as directed. While I was not concerned about coming, I was at ease with this excellent team I had on this day, and feel that my eyes have had a thorough evaluation. read more

Run as fast as you can from this place. Go anywhere else. First you wait two hours just to be seen... go back dilate eyes... wait another 30 min... go in for pressure test... wait another hour to see doctor. Over booked and nothing but a gigantic cattle call in the lobby. Massive. Oh and if you leave after all the testing (for medical reason) they won't allow you to schedule a simple physician consult to discuss the three hours you WERE there. Seriously. They say you MUST come in and DO IT ALL OVER again. If question the horrible staff, it's too bad so sad. No exceptions. And getting an answer back takes the will of God. Monopoly and they know it. Don't care. Administrator contact goes straight to VM and you never hear back from her. Then you're dismissed. True story. Not that I'd EVER set foot in that facility again. Make the drive to Edmond/ Okc/ Stillwater/Dallas. Worth every hour spent!!! read more

First they have moved to 2424 E 21st Street. My daughter had a detached retina last year which they fixed by laser. This was a one year check up. They are in a new location. It is nice. It is big. They have a system, but it's still slow. We checked in, waited, had a vision check and dilation. Then we moved to a different waiting room and waited and waited (that's why they call it a waiting room). Then they took scans and we returned to the waiting room. After a while we saw the doctor who did a complete exam. Appointment time 2:30 pm. Departure was 4:30 pm. The two times I have been there they are extremely busy. Minus a star for the waiting. The doctor and staff were 4 star. read more

We had an appointment for my 91 year old father who was in a wheel a Chair, hard of hearing and has difficulty understanding. They refused to let me go back with him. The waiting room was full of people even though they told you not to get to your appointment early and we didn't. My father refused to go back alone so we did not get service. read more

The medical care we received was good, however the wait times are completely unacceptable. Every visit takes hours of waiting for what amounts to about 5 minutes with a tech and just 5-10 minutes with the doctor. read more

The doctors are all amazing. The one part that bothers me is the same with everyone else is the length of wait. I was informed on my first appointment that it would take anywhere from 2-3 hours for each appointment. They have a lot of patients, and now with all the extra precautions for covid, it seems to take a little longer. I am fortunate that sometimes I am able to be seen in Bartlesville. You still have to wait, just not quite as long. Love all the doctors!! read more

Love the Doctor I have gone to and the Techs are great to deal with, Today though, not only my health privacy was violated but was screamed at by what I call their mask nazi. Each Time I have come to this office, A woman named Donna Ritter, mean nasty rude arrogant, and with out any concern for proper treatment of a client screamed at me when I was trying to breath. There is no pandemic, there is no mandate and the building people as well as the techs and doctors took masks off at different times. There were at least 70 people in the waiting area, and one lady said she had waited over an hour and her father had just gone in, I had been there over a half hour, and the Mask nazi starts walking around, demanding people put there mask on, one older lady had fallen asleep with out her mask. There is no flue there is not pandemic. I will not pay for walking out after being treated so rudely, they should not over book like this. My time is as important as theirs, and many of the other patients complained about the DONNA RITTER AS WELL. I will not comply and tell some uneducated rude hall monitor my medical history at the entrance to the elevator. So a violation of my privacay and not the way to treat a patient. Again love the Doctor and Techs, but not worth it to be treated with so much distane and disrespect. I have complained to the staff at the desk, the techs and the Doctor about this horrible person each time and today was the last straw. read more

If I could give 0 stars I would. I had surgery to correct a macular hole. Dr. Kyle Piwonka did the surgery. Before surgery I asked what the prognosis was and all he told me was 90% success rate. He DID NOT tell me any risks. He did say that my eye sight may take 6 months to a year to get back my full vision. During surgery when peeling the membrane he tore the under layer of my macular and used laser to repair that. A 30 to 40 minute surgery turned into an hour and 38 minute surgery. From a small vision problem turned into almost total blindness in that eye. Follow up appointments when my eye was not getting any better he finally said when I straight out asked him is this as good as it is going to get he said yes. He did not say he regretted that the surgery was not more of a success or anything. The next appointment he came in and asked if my vision was any better and I said no. After his exam I asked him why would he ask me if my vision was any better when he said before that it was as good as it is going to get. He said he did not say that and I said yes he did and he said no he didn't. My next question was what happened during surgery that made me in the 10% unsuccessful group. He said he didn't know what I meant and when I told him he said it was a 90% success rate so why was I in the 10% group. He said I was being disrespectful and got very defensive. My daughter said no she isn't being disrespectful she just asked you a question and you don't want to answer it. He then said it was successful because he did close the hole. I said you call this a success when I can't see and before the surgery I could. He said yes he closed the hole. I since got a second opinion and was told the the first surgery was done with over aggressive peeling and it could have be avoided. Turn and run if you are referred to this practice. read more

I think Drs are good but the waiting is ridiculous. Every time I come, which is every few weeks, we have to wait over an hour just to get called and then 15-20 minutes in between tests. What should take an hour is always 3-4 hours - REALLY!!! read more

On June 3rd, I had a follow up appointment scheduled for a retinal aneursym. On June 2nd, I received a call to remind me of my appointment. The next thing out of the receptionist, she wanted to know if I was aware of a $185 balance. I said, "yes", I just received the statement in the mail the day before. I told her that I would pay $50 on account when I came in for my appointment. She asked that I hold on for a second and then came back on the line to inform me that I needed to pay $92.00. I explained to her that I am retired now and on a set income and I can pay only $50. She then told me that since I couldn't pay $92, that she had to cancel my appointment, so she did just that. What I would like to know, are you doctors aware that your staff (billing department) are taking into their own hands to cancel follow up appointments? I have worked in healthcare for over 40 years and worked in a doctor's office 19 of them and we never refused any type of payment. I just don't understand why an office staff member can make that decision. My eyes are a very important part of my healthcare and I am glad to know that someone in this office is playing with other people's life! If the billing department would have checked, they would have known that I have met my deductible on my secondary insurance and that MC and my insurance would have paid for the follow up appointment.
