At first, I was hesitant due to being out of town and it being a last-minute job. However, I am so glad I called! I was told to stop in so that she could see the dress and asses what work needed to be done. From time I walked in she was nothing but accommodating. I left the dress with her at 11:40 for alterations and she called me by 2:00 telling me they were complete. The work was top notch completed by a wonderful seamstress. I would highly recommend this business.

If I could give Julie's ten stars, I totally would…read more I haven't had much dry cleaning done here, but that's because I don't own many things that are dry cleanable. The dry cleaning I *have* had done has been impeccable, though, with them trying more than once to remove stains at no extra charge. They are even accommodating with my quirks of asking for no wire hangers or plastic coverings on my cleaning (I bring my own plastic hangers - save the planet, man!). What truly makes Julie's a superstar in my book is the alterations. I've had several items altered here - pants hemmed and waists taken in, and even a few more "unique" projects like adding ruffle trim to the bottom of a dress that had stains that refused to come out, and altering a fancy little girl's dress for Christmas. Ria, the owner, is always up for the challenge, and they do incredible work. I always know when I pick up my items that you would have no idea they'd been altered at all. They're that good! Always friendly, and willing to accommodate rush jobs if necessary, even at their busiest times of the year. They are easily accessible, in the same building as the Wawa at Frankford and Linden, and walkable from my house. I am super picky about alterations, and I won't go anywhere else! Go, you won't be disappointed!

I was told everything would be ready for pick-up on Saturday (as stated on the receipt) so I stopped in yesterday. The clothes are needed for work on Monday morning. When I handed the cashier my receipt, I was informed that my blouses were ready, but not my pants. I was not happy with this. The owner, Ria, approached me and said she didn't have my pants and asked when I needed them. I explained I work in Center City and wouldn't have time to come by before work on Monday. She said she could meet me at the dry cleaners today (Sunday) and provide the pants. My understanding is they don't dry clean dress slacks on premise. She took down my phone number and said she'd call me. Yesterday evening I got a phone call from Ria saying she had 4 pairs of pants ready and was willing to drop them off to me at my doorstep. I didn't know what to say. She drove from her home to get me my pants and hand them to me. The customer service blew me away. Ria said I would get a text message indicating when I could pick up the remaining pairs of pants. I'm sure you could imagine how displeased I could've been walking away from this business, but Ria was quick to turn a negative experience around and make sure I was a happy client. I can't thank Ria and Julie's enough for their dedication to their customers.

This place returned my ~$200 suit jacket to me damaged after alterations had already begun. When I…read moredropped off the suit jacket (which was brand new and right out of the packaging) and the tailor pinned the jacket up, apparently there was no damage. Now, after the suit jacket had been in the tailor's possession for five days, the tailor suddenly noticed damage to the lower left sleeve of the suit jacket AFTER beginning to alter its length. Tailor denies all responsibility, refuses to offer any sort of compensation, and says that she cannot repair the jacket. She also did not finish the semi-done alterations, but I at least got refunded for that. When I asked the tailor what could have caused this damage, I got different answers after I kept pointing out that her offered explanations were not possible (e.g., something along the lines of "an in-store anti-theft tag being ripped might have caused it"--except I bought the suit jacket online, and the regular tags were attached to the label at the top of the inside of the suit jacket in the back, not anywhere near the sleeve). I understand that accidents happen and that it may be impossible to determine with certainty when the damage occurred. But the situation was handled poorly. Essentially, the damage was not identified until after the alterations had already begun, leaving me with a damaged, altered jacket that I can no longer return--yet no responsibility or solution was offered beyond refunding the unfinished alteration.

I brought my custom made wedding tux to them a couple of days after my wedding. Dropped the tux off…read moreon 9/11, I called special attention to the collar of my custom shirt due to some stains. The woman at the desk acknowledged the stain and put a sticker on it and said they'd take care of it. I went to pick it up a few days later and found my white shirt to have what looked like a grease stain on it. Again, the woman at the front desk was super sweet and apologized and said they'd take care of it. Few days later, my wife went to pick it up. Same stains still existed on the shirt. Never received a phone call stating they couldn't remove the stains or anything. Told my wife to come back in a few days and said they would again, take care of it. I went to pick up my shirt on 9/26. Once again, the stains were still there. This time I was met with a gentleman. He was rude and more or less said they couldn't do anything. I explained that the shirt in which they ruined, was worn once under my vest and was over $200 custom made for my wedding. He was more or less getting nasty with me even though their machine ruined the shirt. He asked if I wanted them to use a chemical clean to try and remove the stain, in which case I said just fix my shirt. Went to pick it up today. 13 days later, stain was not removed. Throughout this whole process, not a single phone call, not a message. Nothing. They ruined my shirt that I only wore ONCE during my wedding and had custom made with embroidery on it. I understand accidents happen but ruining someone's clothes and taking no responsibility for it is a business I refuse to ever give my business to again. For something so sentimental and expensive, the lack of care and communication is unacceptable. I would not recommend this cleaner if you value your clothing or expect basic professionalism.

After the original fitting, I was told that I would receive a phone call from the seamstress. However, 3 weeks later, that call still hadn't come so I phoned them only to be told that the original fitting had to be redone and that NO work had been done in the three weeks it had been sitting in the shop. Thank God I checked. I brought my niece back and was told a two week pickup date. Upon "attempted" pickup, I was told that I was incorrect and, according to the seamstress, I was supposed to wait on her phone call to pick up the dress. Now 5+ weeks after the original visit. I informed her that I would be picking up the dress on the next business day, Monday. Upon actual receipt of the dress, the crinoline has jagged scissor cuts all around. The actual hem is majorly crooked and the dress was taken in WAY too much so as now it just barely fits. I dropped it off to another seamstress last night who was visible shocked that I had paid someone $65.00 for this.
