I don't know what I'd do without Tubbys. I am quite the picky eater due to poor appetite and have been burnt out on the typical fast food choices. Today, I tried a Taco sub for the first time in a long time and wow, how could I have forgotten how amazing it is?? I can't even being to describe it. Personally, the salsa, cheese and chips stand out the most for me but you can still taste everything at once. The ingredients are super fresh. I've been a big fan of processed food believe it or not and I can tell this is fresh and this is the only place I can eat a footlong sub and NOT BE SICK AFTER!!!! Idk what's in the other food but I have never gotten sick here. No matter how much or what I chose to eat I also want to add that I've been coming here since nov 22 and yet I'm still in disbelief that their subs are that good. I don't like subs. I have been a fan of Tubby's Subs, since I first went to the old location in Ann Arbor at the northwest corner of S. State and E. William Streets, right across from the University of Michigan's main campus. Back in those days in the late 1980s, you order a 16" super-sized sub, a side order of fried breaded mushrooms, and large drink for around $7.00. Ironically, you couldn't move afterwards, but it was the next best thing to heaven on earth. My friend from England, first told me about Tubby's in 1988. So every time he comes to visit his family here in the USA, we always set aside a day and visit a Tubby's Sub shop in the Metro Detroit area. Sadly, the location in Ann Arbor has long since closed, but the last two times, we have visited the one located on M-153 (Ford Road) in Westland. As always, we weren't disappointed. Tubby's, has always been a level above the competition, especially when it comes to the level of service, and quality that you won't find at Subway. Believe me when I tell you there is no comparison between the two; hence, Tubby's wins hands down. How is that possible? Easy! Tubby's has it's own sauce that's out of this world. Likewise, they will cook it fresh for you on the spot. So if you want a change of pace from burgers, or mediocre subs offered at other locations, then by all means stop in at this location and enjoy yourself. read more

My family and I have been coming to this Tubby's for some time, but I don't think I will be going back soon. My experience the other day wasn't what I expected. During this unknown time i believe restaurant safety is top priority. The workers who made my sandwich and worked the drive thru did not have a mask or gloves on. When I came home with my sandwich I noticed that it had bad lettuce on it and the bread was not the best either. I hope Tubby's is able to keep up with the current world situation and go back to making great sandwiches! read more

I'm guessing this place is under new management because my recent visit here was great. You wouldn't expect such quality from a fast food sandwich shop, but quality it has! The subs tasted fresh and were loaded with toppings; more so than any other Tubby's I've been to. The staff was very friendly and even threw in various cups of dressing so we could sample them, at no charge. Lately it seems like everyone wants to itemize a 2oz dressing cup. The wife and I were out running errands and stopped off at this place, because it was handy. Instead of going through the drive through, we decided to go inside and place our to go order to avoid waiting in the car. The dining room was bigger than the Dearborn location on Michigan avenue; so, it can accommodate more people inside. They seem to have updated their tables and chairs and have their old ones on sale in the dining room which is kind of odd; since, I have never seen a restaurant do that before. Otherwise, the dining room was clean. The staff was friendly and helpful. The gentleman at the counter was able to make suggestions to make my sandwich better which actually fit my tastes; so, that was a plus. My wife ordered fries and the steak and cheese sub. She found the sub to be juicy and flavorful. I ordered a grilled chicken and cheddar sub with breaded mushrooms as a side. My sub too was juicy and flavorful. Even though we hadn't taken up the option of having extra meat put on our subs, both subs were more full of meat and toppings than what the Michigan Ave. location gave us; so, we kind of like this location better even though the Michigan Ave. location is closer to where we live. The breaded mushrooms were pretty much your average breaded, fried white button mushrooms. This location advertised that they delivered and catered; so, you get more options for how to enjoy your subs with them than to just dine in or take out. So, overall, this is one of the better Tubby's locations in terms of what you get on your sandwich, the advice you can get on how to make you sandwich better and how you get your sandwich. read more

I know two things, good food and performing the French arts with women in the bedroom and each bite of a Tubby's Submarine is like a sensual kiss of a beautiful womens.......and I am a hungry boy who desires taste passion. I am very passionate about Tubby's and their delicious subs. One can not go wrong with the Steak and Cheese. I love it when the warm meat juices mixes with the cold crisp lettuce and yummy tomato, it's something else. The dressing they use is the perfect addition to the whole crafted sandwich. You have the freshness of the veggies and the umami of the succulent beef and when you throw in that tangy dressing, you feel lost in a dreamy sea of tastiness. I am also a fan of the Tubby's Famous. There's a mystery meat to me on that sub called Cotto Salami. Not sure what it is, but I love it. It's like a soft salami with peppercorns in it and it's awesome AF! The Tubby's Italian is also good, but the Tubby's famous will fuck you up, it's so good. The fries are meh, okay, but nothing to write home about, but the breaded mushrooms - those things are ah-mazing. Sometimes I'll throw a couple on a cheesesteak. It's the right thing to do. Delish, top notch. ESKETIT!!!! The surprise of the year here is the Taco Sub. I love it ever so much. It's got crumbled corn chips, salsa, hamburger, and great flavor/texture. It's like Tubby's is playing a fun game with my mouth and I'm Kelly F'N Wells. I enjoy every minute of eating it. Sometimes when I eat a 12" sub from a place that rhymes with Rubjay, I'll be like "Good God, how many more bites until I am done eating." The taco sub at Tubby's is like a Luke Bryan song and I don't want the night to end every time I eat it. Italian Sausage Sub is also epic. I enjoy the service here 100% and the prices are well damn worth it. I know one yelper got salty because of the way he was greeted, but I think he was just being petty. This place could be the most God awful place on earth. The restaurant was dirty with old equipment kind of just laying all over the kitchen. There was a large dried up spot of mustard on the service counter and dirty tables every where. I have had Tubby's before and enjoy their sandwiches but the crew working on this Sunday lunch had no pride in what they were doing or what they were serving. The sandwich left me feeling a bit nauseous and that was before I even had to sit and watch the Lions. Avoid this place at all costs. read more

When I walked inside there was a terrible odor.... looked around and the place was filthy dirty...I still placed an order and while I was waiting 2 others walked in and I could tell they were smelling the same gross smell....they left....I then cancelled my order and they did give me my money back.....for those of you who drive thru at this location beware that the inside of this place is disgusting! The woman working here last night (just past 9:00 pm on 9/14) was EXTREMELY rude and short while taking our order and money, and I have a feeling this isn't a one off isolated incident with her. These workers are the face of your fast food business and not the type of people you want working anywhere near a live customer. Unfortunately, because of her I could never return to that location and I have come here many times. As well as being rude during the whole ordering process she just hands the food out the window while looking the other way into the kitchen and without a " Thank you for coming to Tubby's!" or "Have a great day, *smiling*!" closes the window and walks away. If we had more time we would have spoken to what looked like the manager at the front counter but unfortunately we were in a rush. Went here for lunch with my 2 boys and had a great experience. The staff was very enthusiastic and the cashier even made my kids laugh (I can hardly even do that). Regardless of the service, this place had amazing subs! I've had some okay experiences at different tubbys but these subs were better than any I've had.
