This location is always pretty solid. I've never had a "bad" experience here. Food is greasy and quickly made. 4 stars

Had a poor experience before, but decided to give this place another shot. The woman I spoke with had a tone when I walked in the shop and asked me to go to my vehicle to call and place and order. This is understandable, but she didn't need to be rude. So, I end up ordering a cheeseburger sub with no mustard, onion, or tomato (basically just wanted lettuce, pickle, and ketchup). Well, I get home and open up this sloppy mustard covered mess. I was only able to eat two bites and just threw the rest out. I am not picky and would have even been content if there was a just a little, but come on. Don't be rude and then mess my meal up. Won't be back.

    Buffalo chicken sub.

Sticking with a four star rating... but I just wanted to add some comments. First of all, the main reason why I give four stars, is that the place is pretty expensive. It's definitely (way, way, way, way, way, way, way, way,WAY) better than Subway, but it's at least a few bucks more expensive per sub -- the sacrifice you make for quality, I guess. The steak subs are very good (even if they happen to get a little bit TOO soggy), and I also really like the buffalo chicken sub and chicken fajita sub -- the sauce on the buffalo chicken sub actually has enough spice to make my nose run a little bit, and I'm pretty tolerable to heat. Basically, I love Tubby's. Support local business and eat here. Not just BECAUSE it's a made-in-Michigan company, but because Subway's awful in comparison.

Nasty. They use cheap cold cuts. Not a regular tubbys taste. Even the bread was gross. No cottage fries, etc

Dreadful. Just bought a 12" steak and pepper. The meat was rubbery and gristly. Absolutely inedible and disgusting.

I wanted to believe this place had turned a corner after being featured on Bar Rescue, but what I…read moreobserved afterward made it clear that whatever changes were made did not stick. Responsible alcohol service did not appear to be a priority. It was common to see visibly intoxicated patrons continue to be served, sometimes to the point where their condition was hard to ignore, and then leave without any meaningful intervention. That alone raises serious concerns about community safety. Operationally, there seemed to be very little oversight. Staff were regularly left to close the bar without an owner or manager present, despite the volume of cash moving through the business. Inventory tracking appeared inconsistent, with many items rung in under vague or generic categories rather than clearly documented. From a customer perspective, it felt chaotic and loosely managed. There also seemed to be a culture of excessive comping of drinks and blurred boundaries between ownership and patrons, which created an unprofessional atmosphere. Instead of structure and accountability, the environment felt improvised. What ultimately changed my perception permanently was how a legitimate health issue was handled. When I was unable to come in due to a serious medical situation and communicated that honestly, the response escalated quickly and aggressively rather than being handled with professionalism. That experience alone made it clear that people are disposable here. If you're looking for a bar that prioritizes responsible service, professionalism, and consistent management standards, I would think carefully before choosing this one. The optics may look improved from television, but the underlying culture did not appear to change.

I want to love this place, but I can only like it. The food is too hit and miss for me to "not be…read moreable to wait" until my next visit. I'll eat here, but not as often as i would if they polished up their menu/execution. The chicken dishes, all of them, are terrible. They advertise "tender chicken cut into slices," but if you look at any of the pics on here, it's all the same - tiny, little chicken bits, dry and overcooked. The more obscure dishes are the way to go. They fail hard on the basics, but hit home runs on their more unheard of menu items. If you've never heard of something, but it sounds good - that's what you should order here. Chicken lemon rice: 3/10 Not enough chicken, lemon tastes artificial and weird, soup is bland. I've had better CLR at most any coney island. Chicken Gyro: 3/10 Chicken was dry, the orzo was dry and overcooked, tziki sauce was thick and lacked flavor. Plenty of chicken... I would have rather had less chicken, cooked better. I haven't seen their chicken kabob, but it seems like this place uses the thick part of their breast for the kabobs, and uses the scraps bits for all of their other dishes. Grape Leaves: 7/10 Good flavor, good sauce... wish the CLR soup tasted as good as the sauce from the grape leaves. Stifado: 9/10 Excellent dish. Good amount of beef, great flavor, nice stew. This is the dish that I would come back for. Bread basket: Bread: 4/10 - they serve the bread ice cold. Olive oil: 9/10 - excellent flavor, super light, nice lemon zest Service: 8.5/10 - good job. They had one guy for all 8 or so tables, but did he did a good job covering them. The busser/assistant did a good job at keeping our waters and bread full, but he tries to carry too much, and it causes a big distraction (glasses clunking, nearly falling over, re-stacking)... sometimes two trips is better than one... He also says "of course" (pet peeve) when someone says "thank you." Perhaps I'm weird, but I find that terribly dismissive, and off-putting.

Everything we ate from the salad and its dressing to the mussels and the gyro were both fresh and delicious. The mussels didn't seem to be debearded but they were fresh and delicious. The gyro doesn't naturally come with feta but they brought a large side of it! And there was one server and the host who managed to provide quality service even with 6 tables coming in at the same time.

While we were waiting for our food (which only took a few minutes!), Alberto brought us drinks to try, went to each table that was eating to make sure they were enjoying everything, informed us about all the specials throughout the week, and answered any questions we had. He overheard us talking about the chicharron and threw one in our bag too so we could try! This is the best, most authentic Mexican I've had in all of Michigan! The inside is small, but very clean and welcoming. Even if you're not from the area, I would say it's worth the drive! I cannot recommend this place enough. Make sure to stop by and support them!

We ordered it for lunch at work one day, and we were all impressed by the authentic Mexican tacos, and the portion sizes, which were very generous. The homemade salsas were really good, too. That was my first experience. I told my family about it, and we placed an order on a Saturday afternoon. My son picked it up, and came back with a couple of free items; a few churros, which were absolutely delicious, and a guava Agua Fresca, which was one the the best tasting drinks I have ever had. The man who takes the orders and runs the register is very friendly and kind. We have ordered from Dos Locos Burritos four times now, and the food has been consistently good, and freshly prepared every time. The burritos are HUGE, and filled with delicious ingredients. All of the meats we have tried have been very tasty. We have ordered the Mexican style tacos, burritos (regular and Locos Style), chimis, quesadillas, horchata, Agua Fresca, and chips and salsa. Everything has been delicious. The interior is small with a few tables, but it's really clean and nicely kept. There is a stainless steel cooled serving unit with salsas in it to the left of the register in the front that has soufflé cups with lids that you can fill with salsa for your order. The prices are mid-range, but I don't mind spending $15.00 on a burrito when that burrito is huge, and filled with high-quality, freshly prepared ingredients. The amount of food you get is absolutely worth the price you pay. I highly recommend Dos Locos Burritos!
