I worked with John De Angelis to buy my condo in Brighton, being one of several areas in and around…read moreBoston that I explored with him. I met John through a couple of colleagues who spoke very highly of him and recommended I should reach him to get my property search started with his help. I couldn't have been happier that I did. John is indeed a consummate professional and one of the most hard-working and honest individuals I've ever met. He never failed to show me how he had my best interest at heart and was extremely responsive, attentive to my needs and generous with his time. He made himself available throughout the day (and night) via phone, text or email, answering every question I had, and accompanying me to tour properties during the months before making my first offer on a condo in Harvard Square. On that occasion, we unfortunately got outbid despite having made a strong offer, although understandably as there were eight other parties bidding simultaneously, as we learnt at the time. And well, it all worked out for the best because shortly after, John negotiated what turned out to be a superb deal on a 2-bedroom condo that was not even on the market and off-MLS, therefore allowing us to bypass any competing buyers and bidding wars. So, after months of expert coaching, advising, strenuous search and property showings, we had an accepted offer! Let's be clear, no path to success is ever smooth or easy, and the process of buying a property isn't any different. In fact, on a different note, the loan officer I chose and his team at Bank of America who miscalculated my DTI, had to restructure the loan at the last minute, which essentially meant a larger down payment to bring to closing, but I guess this will be a story to tell on a different review. Thankfully though, at my side there was John who is a problem-solving machine and I lost count of how many times he saved the day. To make a long story short, when I think of real estate, John is the one person that comes to mind and I highly recommend him to anyone out there in need of his real estate expertise. He knows the market and you can trust that he will help you as he helped me make the best and probably the most important investment of my life.

Stop making fruitless calls to brokers who blow you off, don't call you back, don't listen to your needs, or don't show up for scheduled showings. Call John. This guy knows how to treat people right. I moved in a VERY short period of time from Texas to Boston (two weeks, to be exact), so I did not have time to do an extensive search or waste time on places that weren't viable. I also was unable to preview some of the properties because I was out of town. I cannot express in words how helpful it was to have someone who was responsive, honest, and so hardworking in my corner to help me nail down an apartment (that was pet-friendly at that). John is amazing and I will sing his praises to anyone who will listen. I can sleep easy tonight knowing that I have a place to call home, all thanks to John De Angelis!

The website is so much more straight forward and scam-less then all the others; it's so simple it seems to good to be true... but it is that good. Tyler and his crew really are the good guys. I emailed the main address provided on the website and Tyler responded within minutes and we were chatting about the process by the end of the day. He had my roommates and I list out all of our 'must haves' and second tier priorities, preferred location, and budget. We set up a time to look at a list of places and by the next week we secured an apartment. He drove us around to each of the apartments and made sure to point out the positive and negative aspects of each place that we might not have noticed. He wasn't persistent about securing an apartment or pushing us into a place that wouldn't fit our needs. He was excellent about presenting our options, laying out the process and telling us exactly how everything would go. I would recommend Rent Source to my family, friends and coworkers.

We wasted 6 hours of driving time getting to the tour to be treated with no grace or compassion.

I spent the past year searching for my first home, and Chris Taylor was enormously helpful,…read moreextremely responsive and endlessly patient throughout the process. First off, don't let the length of my search deter you, as that was my fault with my ever-changing parameters. Nevertheless, Chris stood patiently by my side as we bounced around from neighborhood to neighborhood (Allston, Brighton, Brookline, JP, Dorchester, Cambridge, Somerville, Medford). He also was very accommodating to my work schedule and would meet with me as late as 8pm in some instances. He walked me through every step of the home-buying process, and also had every resource that I needed along the way. All in all, Chris was just a pleasure to work with and I'd definitely work with him again in the future as soon as I pay off this mortgage. I should note, at some point, Chris had to take a week or so off, but in the interim, set me up with his colleague, Xavier, to continue showings. Chris still somehow managed to answer emails while he was on vacation.

I had first called Ed a few years ago when I was thinking about selling me place. He gave me good advice, was always happy to speak with me, always responded in a timely manner, and I decided not to sell my place. So when I did decide to finally sell my place, I called Ed and he still responded in a timely manner and was happy to meet with me. He was one of three realtors I met with and he came in with the best action plan on how to sell my place. The entire process was quick, incredibly efficient and best of all, took very little work on my part. He has very good knowledge of the market, the area, and is a problem solver. On top of it all, he is a darn nice person and very easy to work with! I could not have asked for a less stressful and positive real estate experience and Ed is a very big factor in that.

This has included three properties: two investment units and most recently a house I renovated, as planned, and live in. Vanguard has served as my rental agent on the investment units since 2007 when I decided they could do it faster, find better quality tenants, and for a higher rent then I was getting on my own. While Matt Bless is my primary contact, Howard and the others I have dealt with in both the Brighton and Brookline offices have continually provided me with the knowledge and service I demand. If you are looking for honesty, responsiveness, knowledge of the area and buying process then working with this team will be a sound investment as it has been for me. May 29, 2012: Closed another deal with Vanguard last month. Working on one or two right now that should come to fruition and close over summer. Continue to appreciate the great service I get from Matt, Howard and rental agents. The rental team at both locations found me real solid tenants for September as they have done for the last five years. Some at highest rental rates in 4 years. Could not be more pleased with personal and professional service. Thanks so much!!

You can tell she really knows what she's doing, especially when things get competitive. When it was time to submit my offer, she helped me put together something strong and smart without making me feel like I was stretching too far, and she handled a lot behind the scenes that really made a difference. Overall, the brokerage was just as impressive. Buying in the North End is no joke and I was competing with multiple offers, so having a team that knew how to move quickly and effectively was huge. From the start, they made the process feel organized and manageable, which took a lot of stress off my shoulders. What stood out the most about Ally was how easy she was to work with. She's down to earth, straightforward, and at the same time extremely professional. I always felt like she had my best interests in mind and never once felt pressured into anything. The entire experience felt smooth and well handled from beginning to end. I ended up getting the home I wanted in the North End even with multiple offers on the table, which really speaks for itself. I would definitely recommend this brokerage, and especially Ally, to anyone looking to buy.
