Absolutely disappointed with the lack of response and professionalism when that used to be priority. I understand hardships and things happen, but whatever is going on- absolutely no response or customer service is unfair and not right for all of the customers trying to get their wine all while also trying to enjoy the place again. Three varieties were available for sampling at the show, a Red Duet, Syrah and a Petite Sirah. The Red Duet, a 50-50 blend of Cabernet and Syrah, was my personal favorite with a very nice aroma, smooth texture and an equally smooth taste. Mr. John Monnich , the founder of Silkwood Wines was very helpful in explaining the qualities of his award winning wines exuberantly informing us that his Syrah is the ONLY western wine served on Japan Airlines. Was about to drive on... But I decided to call and Farmer John was more than accommodating! It's a farm meets vineyard meets winery. Anyways, we called and Farmer John came and opened the gate for our two cars. We came in and parked next to the barn. He gave us the choice of tasting inside or outside - we chose outside. After the 15 minutes he needed to get ready, he rolled out with all the glasses and bottles required for a tasting for 5 adults. Most of the wines are fruit forward but we all really enjoyed that about them. They well blended. John also explained that he's not pressured to put out wines that he doesn't feel meet his standard. This is a passion for him. Great conversations followed. The kids all played around the grounds and even went to go meet the farm animals! We all bought 2 bottles (or more) each to cover our tasting. It was great enjoying this time and the conversations surrounded by green grass and a wonderful farm setting. Definitely will be coming back!

The front doors are practically majestic. No appointment necessary, but there is not an actual tasting room, so they do not do tastings in house. All are welcome to peruse the wine list (see pic) & purchase bottles for home. Prices are beyond reasonable; $9 or 10 bucks a bottle, w the most expensive being $16. $120 is the average for a case, & if you buy a case there is a 10% discount. The Cabernet & the Pinot Noir have the largest following, & it is the Pinot Noir that is my personal choice. California is blessed w grapes, & we are lucky to have such easy access to so many quality wines. Unlike the majority of the country (& the world for that matter), we're part of that privileged few that have the luxury of drinking locally, instead of having to fly or order our wine from great & far. But, sold out:( you pay for everything and the. Bring to your server and they put it all on a charcuterie board and bring to your table. I really enjoyed their Chardonnay on this rather hot day.
