Had TSR Concrete Coating perform coating on driveway, walkway and 2 porches 2021. When we started having issues, we were told that they had ceased operations in AZ. I obtained a lawyer and received a letter for Jeff Gear, CEO of TSR stating that they could not assume the liability for work performed by a separate and unrelated company. On 4/10/2026, TSR has obtained License Number ROC 365029 as business entity name - TSR Concrete Coatings LLC based in Lena, IL dba Cardinal Concrete Coatings. They have also stopped responding to my requests to repair or refund for the services that were performed. read more

TSR installed our coating on our patio. I called for service for some "lifetime warranty" but they said the lifetime warranty was null and void since they no longer had a service department in our area. And they couldn't offer any recommendation as to who could service it and that we were just out of luck and there was nothing they could do for us. So much for the lifetime warranty. So now I have areas that have chipped off and are dull and I can't do anything about it. read more

They said that the floor must be dry which I understood but unfortunately we had very bad weather and temperatures were going to be around zero. two stars because the coating looks good, hopefully it holds up. Didn't get 5 stars because the sloppiness of their work. They got coating on my pillars and house, didn't tape anything up. Someone did come out a few weeks later to look at it and promised to paint the affected areas. We have been out of our garage since 6/23/25. Don't want to move everything back in more than once. So we are paying storage. Initial install had problems. Sharp spikey protrusions in many places. Correction to install made it worse. Now there are more than 200 in our 27 x27 garage floor. Next correction scheduled for 9/12/25. We would have preferred a much sooner correction but the 'repair' crews are too busy! We were also concerned about what they call verticals-the concrete block sidewalls about 9 inches high. Two correction crews said they weren't aware of the verticals needing attention, even though initial inspection confirmed, floor and verticals were a problem. Terrible! I gave them $729.00 as a down payment in the summer of 2021 To do my garage floor. I had an appointment for August. Then I had water damage to my garage that ended up being a total tear down. With the tear down I had to replace the foundation. I called them but because I didn't give them enough notice they wouldn't refund my money. You have to cancel or reschedule before 6 weeks of your appointment. I kept calling them with updates of the progress which, by the way just was completed summer of 2024. They still won't refund my money!!! WARNING! DO NOT USE. I had my newly poured garage slabs coated last year and, since installation, large pieces of the coating have simply detached from the area where the coating meets the driveway concrete. I am talking about chunks in the 3"*7" range. I've been trying to get a call back to schedule warranty work for months, finally reached someone at TSR today who informed me that the location in my town has closed and therefore my warranty is void. There appears to be another location in Denver, about an hours drive to my home, but apparently it's easier for them to wipe my warranty off the books than to send a guy down. TERRIBLE quality - customer service even worse! In August of 2023, we hired TSR to apply a basement floor in our 1.5 year old home. The 1st time they came to our home to begin the project, we had 4 guys in our basement with hand held grinders removing the original concrete sealant on our basement floor. Well - 10+ hours and a thick layer of concrete dust covering our home later, our floor had hundreds of gouge marks from hand grinding. Supervisor (Ethan) came out - "Yes, this should never have been done with hand grinders. The team should have used the large floor grinder. I am confident we can fix this". Attempt two, result - "we cannot remove all the marks in the floor caused by the hand grinders". TSR sent their repair crew (lead by Gary) who told us that it would not be possible to remove/hide all the gouge/grind marks. After 3 failed attempts to install/repair/reapply the basement floor, TSR refunded our deposit and offered to remove their product in December of 2023 because they were unable to fix their gouge/grind marks on our basement floor. We reached out to several companies to assess the damage to our floors. Several companies would not guarantee their work due to the damage TSR caused, even after their product had been removed. We found two companies confident they could repair the damage. Not only did TSR cause damage to our basement floor, they blew our GFI (which they should not have even been plugged into) and damaged our walls - leaving holes in the drywall. We had to hire an electrician to repair the GFI and drywall/painters to repair the walls. Josh, the manager, told us to forward the bills and they would pay directly. After two weeks, the vendors called to inform us they had not received payment. We paid the vendors ourselves because we did not want our local vendors to not receive payment. We had our attorney send a letter in an attempt to resolve this issue outside of court. CEO Jeff Gear stated in a response that TSR would reimburse us for the electrical and drywall damage only, not for the additional costs we incurred to repair the floor. I wish we would have known how terrible this company was - we could have saved months of inconvenience and frustration. Luckily, we have photos and videos of our floor throughout the 5 month ordeal. We contracted with TSR Concrete Coatings in Arizona where they also were doing business in addition to Illinois. When the workers were finished with our patio and garage, I questioned whether the finish was how it was supposed to be as it had a very smeary, dull appearance. I contacted our sales rep and could not get through only to learn that they were no longer doing business in Arizona. We hired TSR based on their lifetime warranty on the polyaspartic coating, for which we paid a premium a few years ago. I understand prices have come down more recently. TSR handed off their Arizona warranty issues to Cardinal Concrete Coatings who told us TSR would need to approve our warranty claim. WHAT?! That's like asking a convicted criminal to sentence himself! So we overpaid and have no lifetime guarantee and no recourse except writing this review. BUYER BEWARE!!! read more

I came across a white TSR Concrete Coatings pickup truck this morning at the South Naperville/Rt. 59 Costco gas station (11/16/2022). One of the two TSR workers in the truck was filling a portable gas canister with a lit cigarette in his hand. The Costco attendant politely asked him to put it out and the TSR worker responded with a smug, abrasive attitude. I think people's genuine selves appear when they think no one else is looking and in this case it reflects poorly on the company. If you're looking for a coating contractor that values safety and isn't a liability to your home/work site, I would look elsewhere. read more

They cut expansion joints into our floor which had previously had all the joints filled due to it being a puppy area. They didn't ask or tell us they were going to do it, they just cut huge troughs in our floor. I called our sales rep who offered to come out in 2 days to fill them. Sales rep was a no show and after calling the company FOUR times, I was finally told that the rep was told he could not fill the joints. He of course has never bothered to inform us or communicate with us at all. I finally spoke to the service manager after my FOUR calls to the company and he informed me that they would not fill the joints and we had to do it ourselves even though the floor had no joints when they came to do the coating. Now we have to hire a contractor to come and fill the joints at our expense and the look of the floor is totally spoiled. Terrible company to try to resolve any issues. Signed a contract on 9/3/20. On the evening of 9/7/2020 I was notified I needed a new roof on my house per my ins. I called and left a vm then after not hearing back I called again and spoke with Jessica. She informed me since it was 4 days and not 3 days per the contract I would not get my deposit back. I asked to speak with her boss. After a few days of not hearing back I called again and Jessica informed me her boss said he would not call me and I would not get my deposit back. She left him a note I wanted to speak with him again. Once again I heard nothing back then received his cell number. I just got my garage resurfaced and it is just amazing. A couple neighbors even came by to check it out. The quality of the work was top notch. I'm going to go back and get the front stoop coated as well. The only negative was that they said they were going to show up between 7 and 9 and they showed up a bit after 9 because they started another installation before mine. It's no big deal because I'm stuck at home with the whole pandemic thing but it would have been great to get a phone call letting me know. Salesperson was knowledgeable & helpful & answered our questions. Job was scheduled for August 23, 2022. The installer, Tyler arrived at 7:30, looked over the work, commented it was bigger & more involved than he thought. He had help coming, but they were rookies & one had only been on the job for a week. We taped and covered 2 main entrances to a 70'X50' playroom for children with plastic as instructed to do but left the bottom loose until they got into the area and were ready to begin. I told them I would tape the rest down once they had started. Tyler said I didn't need to do it because he would have his men take care of it. I left the area thinking it was going to be done, until I looked up into the room cameras in my office and saw the area engulfed in a cloud of gray dust. We were shocked. I quickly went to check on why it had not been taped down & was told "I don't know it's my first week on the job." The damage had been done every piece of furniture, toy, game tables, shelves, books, pillows, tables, rugs, movie equipment, iPads, and water dispensers were covered. They took no more care even after bringing it to their attention, except for the worker who took a leaf blower and tried to blow dust off the floor and tops of things. Making it worse. Upon completion I was asked to look at the floor, it looked great, but I told them I was extremely dissatisfied with their negligence and disregard for what they told me they would do. They argued with me and called their boss when I refused to pay them until it was cleaned. The boss called & assured me that they would make sure it was resolved. While on the phone with him, the men were beating the furniture & tables with a dry rag; again, doing nothing that was actual cleaning. I told them to stop, it was being taken care of through their boss Josh. Josh asked me to send pictures, which I did. This was on Tuesday; we had an Open House scheduled for Friday. The next day after some insistence I got a few text messages from Josh saying they could send a couple of men on Friday to help me clean, but refused to send anyone to see the damage that was done. Given our timetable we had to begin the cleaning process. Once we began cleaning, we discovered so much debris left behind in the playroom & the worksite. We spent the next 36 hours cleaning surface dust, mopping, purifying the air, and vacuuming up speckled pieces. On Thursday I called the company to speak to someone higher up or for an email address to send something to them. I was told they do not give out that information; someone would call me. Later, the owner Jeff Gear called me. I told him the entire story & asked for $500 for all the extra work & trouble their carelessness caused. He refused that saying he could, but he would take away the floor's warranty if he did. He suggested $250 since I probably already had a cleaning crew to do it anyway. He told me it was unheard of a CEO of a multimillion dollar company, to make a call to a customer. His final offer of $350 was withdrawn when I told him he did not understanding or care what a huge problem they had created, but if I called him back and apologized for suggesting he did not care he might considered it. They created and yet refuse to acknowledge in any real way their negligence. Any apology should come from them. Mr. Gear was dismissive and arrogant. This company is unwilling to resolve customer issues fairly. I do not recommend them based on my conversations with the Jeff Gear the owner, and their lack of responsibility for problems they created. Customers are not valued by them. Once they have their money they move on & communication stops! I do not expect a resolution to this, nor do I even care at this point. I do want them to know that we consider their multimillion dollar company extremely poor in customer service. I would never recommend them to anyone for that exact reason. read more

The surface was so pitted after 31 years, I didn't think they would be able to do it. FAST FORWARD to 2023. last year our house was struck by lightening and it was a total loss. It took 10 months to rebuild. My beautiful garage floor looked like utter crap. 10 months of everything dragged over it and dropped on it. I called TRS to come out and see if they could help. Unbelievably they have a "repair" that they do for their customers. For a very nominal fee they redid my floor!!! IT'S PERFECT!!! Not just some gloss applied. They resurfaced the bad areas and did an extremely complete and thorough job, it looks brand new, it is brand new!! I know a lot of companies apply these floors but for a company to give their customers this kind of service means the world to me. They have my heartfelt thanks! read more

The job was scheduled three months out (their preference not ours). Two weeks later the home we'd given up on ever finding became available and we tried to cancel and at least get a portion of our $800 deposit back but this company ghosted us. Best one day resurfacing you'll find. They did our garage floor (in exceptionally poor condition) and our front entry way (also in poor condition) and they look great! They guarantee no cracks, chipping, and no fading and the surfaces are also antibacterial. They arrived at 8am and it was all completed by 3pm, including exceptional clean-up. VERY REASONABLY PRICED and they truly exceeded our expectations. Highly recommend them! read more

I disagree with Michael. In less than 1 year I have cracks. Patio looks great except for the cracks. Would not recommend. Customer service is not very friendly. Sent pictures emailed it took 3 weeks to get back to me . Was told it would cost 150 t0 200 to fix the cracks. Still waiting to hear back on that. read more
