At my first consultation with Dr. Oh, she strongly recommended that I space the grafts out by a year instead of getting them at once, and explained the procedure and my options clearly. Gum grafts are no one's idea of a good time, but she and her staff made the process as easy as it could be. I was incredibly grateful afterward that she had steered me to doing one side at a time (it's helpful to have one side of your mouth available to chew, after all!). Recovery went well, the before-and-after pictures show a dramatic improvement, and at my last cleaning my hygienist kept commenting on how good the graft looked ("so clean!" she said). Oh, and everything was cheaper than it would've been at the other place, too. I'll be heading back next year for the second graft, knowing I'm in good hands! Dr Bernstein is a godsend. I had a TERRIBLE experience in LA with placement of two veneers. It…read moreresulted in gum disease, discomfort, and poor aesthetics. It all came to a head when I was 8 months pregnant and one of them chipped. This time around I did my research and went with the best of the best for cosmetics. From the first time I met with Dr. Bernstein, I knew I was in the right place. There was no stress or anxiety -- I knew what was happening every step of the way. He immediately identified the error that resulted in the gum disease and referred me out for gum surgery before veneer replacement. Everything went great, I often get compliments on my teeth, and people are shocked when I tell them they are veneers because they look so natural. This was over 10 years ago. On Monday of this week, I suddenly had a small tooth chip from behind one of my veneers when I was eating. I was terrified that I was going to have to replace them and it unearthed the anxiety from the first time in LA. But no need to fear, Dr. Bernstein got me in straightaway to take a look. I assumed he would do an assessment and have me come back to get it fixed. Not so. He told me it would just take a little bonding, and proceeded to do it right then and there, free of charge. We had a great chat and caught up, then I was on my way. Again, the original placement was over 10 years ago and yet saw me no issue and with my charge! The office staff is all incredible, the space is gorgeous, the skill is expert, and the customer service is phenomenal. Could not recommend more -- and this coming from someone who went through a mediocre dentist the first time around. Don't hesitate to work with Dr. Bernstein and his team!!

Years ago, I had some pretty bad experience with a dentist that made me anxious and nervous towards anything dental related. From the beginning, Dr. Gasper took the time to clearly explain my treatment options, answer my questions, and discuss costs, so I could make informed decisions without feeling pressured. Throughout the process, I felt that she truly cared about my overall health and long-term well-being and genuinely has her patients' best interest in mind. It was also clear that she takes great pride in her work, high standard of care, and is committed to doing things the right way to ensure the best possible outcome for the patient. After each treatment, she personally followed up by text to see how I was doing, which really stood out. The post surgery recovery was basically painless (didn't even need the prescribed pain medication), which is another indication of her competence and skills. I also appreciated the coordination with my general dentist to develop a comprehensive long-term treatment plan. The office staff is amazing - always organized, responsive, and on top of everything. I'm very thankful for the professionalism, attentiveness, and exceptional quality of care I received. This experience restored my confidence that there are doctors you can trust.

I had a horrible medical malpractice experience with Dr. Malboubi. I was referred to him and he…read moreperformed multiple incorrect gum graft procedures on my gums without my consent. When I identified that he performed 2 incorrect procedures on me, he denied responsibility, (incorrectly) blamed the referral paperwork, refused to apologize, and told me repeatedly that "I got free services from him and should be happy". During one of my follow-ups, he also performed a frenectomy (tongue tie release) without telling me or asking my permission. I would not recommend anyone go to him.

In…read moreparticular, (Malboubi DDS) extracted my tooth #19 in February 2022 and stated that a bone graft would be placed to prepare the site for a future implant. Within days, the graft failed. I contacted his office because a white, sand-like material was coming out of the extraction site. When I returned for evaluation, I was told not to worry. Dr. Malboubi billed my insurance and also charged me approximately $400 out of pocket, above allowable fees. Over time, the bone in that area appeared extremely narrow and deficient--consistent with a failed or ineffective bone graft. Three months later, I consulted another periodontist who confirmed that the site was not suitable for an implant and required corrective surgery. That remediation procedure was more painful, more complex, and cost me an additional ~$2,000. I requested reimbursement for the failed graft and provided Dr. Malboubi with the records from the corrective surgery, as he requested. After reviewing them, he refused any refund, stating that he "did not guarantee a good result." Additionally, Dr. Malboubi billed both my primary and secondary dental insurance for the same procedure without informing the secondary insurer that the primary had already paid. I am posting this review years later because I spent a long time trying to resolve this matter directly with Dr. Malboubi, without success. I have had four bone grafts performed by two other dentists over the years, and none of them failed. The only bone graft failure I experienced was the one performed by Malboubi DDS.

I was referred here for gum recession by my dentist and I had Delta Dental insurance. Dr. Kwan looked at my gums for what seemed like mere minutes. He said that I didn't need treatment but didn't offer any other helpful suggestions or reasons. The worse thing was that him and his office were so eager for money that they didn't even ask for my insurance even though my insurance would have covered my exam fully. They wanted my money immediately. I was billed 100 dollars which I paid out of pocket simply because they did not want to spend time dealing with my insurance paperwork. Of course they didn't discuss any of this before I committed to the 100 dollar exam that lasted five minutes or less. Five years later, I told my dentist this week to refer me to a new peridontist and this other office actually used my insurance which meant that I didn't have to pay anything for my exam, got a real exam that lasted almost an hour instead of minutes, and got suggestions and a treatment plan where the financial aspects were actually worked out to my advantage! Stay away unless you want to deal with someone who seems to care more about money and fast money instead of caring for your gum health!
