Because of this reason, there is no regulation on the products the shop uses. If you are used to milk tea from popular boba tea franchises like Tapioca Lounge, Sharetea, Gongcha, Tiger Sugar, and even Kung Fu Tea, then I am sorry to say...the milk tea at Hey Boba and similar privately owned boba tea shops taste "diluted" and sometimes "powdery."
