I had seen a neurosurgeon, neurologist, pain specialist, and had physical therapy and various treatments without ever getting much relief.Mary treated me with both acupuncture and massage and gentle movement of my neck. Her treatments are very gentle and she is careful not to cause any pain. I have gotten amazing results from the treatment. The amount of pain and headaches are greatly decreased. I have definitely gained range of motion in my neck. The amount of relaxation that I can feel in my neck and upper back after a treatment is really wonderful.Mary always talks with me about my overall health and asks if there are any other areas that need treatment. She has helped me with lower back issues and knee issues when things have come up. But I mainly see her on a regular basis for neck and upper back discomfort. My visits are always comforting and helpful.

The surgery alleviated the bone spur impingements, but it was Mary's gentle massage that brought me back to functional physical and mental health. I learned firsthand how debilitating constant severe pain can be. I also had a condition called drop foot where I simply could no longer walk without assistance, but my weekly sessions including acupuncture and massage brought me back to full functional walking, eventually hiking, and now biking again, skills that I once thought I had lost forever. I highly recommend Mary to anyone who has experienced physical trauma but also to anyone who simply wants to experience more joy in life. I used to think of massage as pure luxury, but now I understand that it is truly a life-affirming therapeutic necessity.

The atmosphere is so peaceful and I almost felt my stress slipping away the second I got in the room, then the actual massage started and all the tension I had immediately started to fade. My back was super messed up and it took a few visits but she fixed me in the end and I have to say I def won't be seeing anyone else after that! TBH I almost didn't want to leave this review because I'd rather keep her as my own little secret, but I realized that was selfish of me. See Kaitlin and let her fix you, just don't take up TOO much of her time because I need her magic touch as well, okay?

Dan and Mariana Watson bring their considerable combined training and experience to the table to…read moredeliver a unique and luxurious therapeutic experience. I was gifted a session with them by a friend who was intrigued by the idea of a four-handed massage. At first I was a bit distracted trying to track whose hands were doing what, but I gave that up soon enough and surrendered to the duet. These two are well attuned, so that even when working asynchronously--e.g. one doing trigger points on my neck/shoulders, the other, Swedish on my legs--their energies blend. The quality of their individual and combined touch is informed by caring, intuitive knowing, and skill. Which meant I could relax. As an energy-sensitive former bodywork practitioner, quality of touch is my sine qua non. Bonus #1: Dan and Mariana work from their beautiful home in a wooded cul-de-sac. Their beautifully appointed healing room is the most spacious I've ever seen, and their table has all the comforts--including double-thick upholstery on the face cradle so that one's cheek or brow isn't pressing painfully into the wooden base. I had a hard time peeling myself off that 20- square-foot piece of heaven at the end. Bonus #2: They take the time beforehand to interview their clients about health issues, touch preferences, expectations, and goals for the session. Afterwards, they took additional time with me to talk about their evolution over the years as students of the healing arts. Finally, some days later they followed up with a warm email of appreciation, making additional health-related suggestions and attaching several pages of illustrated trigger point work I could practice at home. Wow. Talk about going the extra mile. So yes, I highly recommend The Massage Duo. In fact, I'm gifting a session back to the friend who gifted me.

The salt room was incredibly helpful for my sinuses, and my breathing felt noticeably clearer after the session.
