She knew I had insurance but tried to convince me using fear like somehow using my insurance was bad. Insurance is MENT to be used. Also, giving out my private information about my benefits in front of the lobby? RUDE and UNPROFESSIONAL Then when I got into the chair I was told they wanted "special" x-rays that the regular dentist doesn't do. Over the phone I was told my dentist x-rays were fine. No mention of "special" xrays. I agreed because with her poor note taking skills, that shes very proud, (if they were any good she wouldnt have repeatedly tried to push me to pay in cash after i made it clear over the phone i was looking for a dr in network) forgot to write down where I asked her to pull my x-rays from my dentist that I took a couple months back. The front desk woman tried to gaslight me like I never said to pull my x-rays from my dentist and we never had that conversation over the phone. Strike 2. Unfortunately my dentist office was closed for lunch so I agreed to the x-rays. They looked the same. Legit nothing different. Then comes the periodontist. Friendly man except for the dismissiveness. Told me I had no gum recession and that the bleeding would stop if I switched from an Oral B electric to a Sonicare. He only acknowledged that I had a bleeding problem in one spot. The problem is my ENTIRE mouth bleeds when I wake up in the morning. My gums hurt! He ignored that too. I repeatedly said this and that i spit out blood in the mornings but was dismissed. Gaslite and hustled by the front desk girl and a dismissive attitude from the Dr. Won't be back and will be looking for a second opinion. Both my dentist(using the same one for 8 years) and maxillofacial surgeon who went to HARVARD (used the same doctor for 5 years) both told me I have gum recession and to see a periodontist about that and the bleeding. Weird to be dismissed when my 2 primary doctors who've known me for years said I need to see a periodontist. Oh and another uneasy feeling? The gentlemen that came after me clearly stated that he felt he was being hustled every time he was there. Plus I had to cancel the first appointment because my dog was sick and then the front desk girl told me there's a $50 cancelation policy if it's past 24 hours prior to the appointment but since it was my first time I was "okay". Then 6 days prior to my appointment today I get a text saying if I don't confirm at least 48hours prior to my appointment that's also subject to a cancelation fee! WHAT?! You all aren't hurting for business expecting $175 cash because you all know too well that insurance will negotiate that down to like $90. Then hustling for "special" x-rays. Way to make it clear that it's all about money from the first contact. Even signing the paperwork if your insurance doesn't pay up within 30 days you have to cover it. I've never signed anything like that!! Here's to praying they even process my claim on time when I know all they want is cash. I got the feeling I was being hustled and then the man after I walked in said he felt that way every time and stormed out, yeah not a good look! Over all a super uncomfortable experience. I'm worried they wont even try to bill my insurance. I cant sleep because of it and now I need a second opinion with someone who will take my problem seriously. I wasn't going to post to yelp but the owners reply on Google motivated me to copy and paste my review here to futher warn people of this unacceptable behavoir. The response to my review on google was manipulative and dismissive. The owner held zero accountability for anything I said here.

With each visit, the overall bedside manner felt less personal and more rushed. There seemed to be little concern about explaining treatment plans or helping elevate concerns I had. What ultimately concerned me most was the treatment planning. After seeking several second opinions, I was told by other dentists that some of the recommended treatment recommendations, including crowns, were aggressive and unnecessary. That raised serious red flags for me. I also began to feel uncomfortable with the front office staff. There was noticeable pressure to agree to additional services, and when I asked questions or declined treatment, the response sometimes felt dismissive. Because of these experiences, I decided it was best to switch providers. I hope they can refocus on consistency, patient communication, and more conservative treatment recommendations in the future.

I was taken back after sitting just a couple of minutes by Angel the awesome tech. I love the technology of this office. They do digital X-rays and photos. Super easy no pain no stress, and super quick. I saw Dr Kaplan today. She is so nice and I got a great report today. My hygienist was Chelsea. I hadn't had an appointment with her in like a year. I guess I was scheduled with a different hygienist. She is so great! She is very detailed and personable. We caught up on what we have both been up to this last year, during my treatment. I just love the personalized care. I do have new info that they are using a new and improved fluoride treatment. It is water soluble. And it only has to stay on for 15 minutes to be effective. That means you only have to wait 15 minutes before you eat or drink anything. They have two flavors right now mint or watermelon. The watermelon flavor is light and sweet. I like it. They gave me sunglasses to wear during the exam so the bright light they use to see doesn't blind me. Lol. I was able to book my next 3 appointments while sitting in the comfy chair. I received a tooth brushing kit, perfect for travel or work. Check out was super quick. This office is professional, friendly and efficient. Team work in action. The hours are also important to me. They are able to get me in, late afternoon after school hours. So perfect! This office is right between my school and my house so it's perfect for me. There is always plenty of parking. There are spots right outside the door or right across. I like to pop over to Trader Joe's and dollar tree when I'm over here. I highly recommend. Check them out.

I can no longer recommend Ascend Dental Studio in Henderson. They seem to have let go of the best…read morepeople who made the place worthwhile. The professional, kind, and truly caring staff--including Dr. Matt, Tracey, and the hygienist--are gone, and the quality has suffered dramatically as a result. I recently went in for a routine cleaning. During the procedure, I was told I had to wear the black plastic protective glasses, or I wasn't welcome there and should leave. When I explained to Dr. Timothy Luong that I'm severely claustrophobic and have a history of panic attacks from previous life-threatening surgeries, he showed zero empathy. He didn't listen to my concerns at all--he simply insisted on the glasses and, when I couldn't comply due to my medical condition, asked me to leave immediately. This complete lack of compassion and accommodation for a legitimate health issue was shocking and unacceptable. No effort was made to discuss alternatives or understand my situation. I felt dismissed and disrespected as a patient. I will never step foot in Ascend Dental again and strongly advise others to think twice before choosing this practice. All business at first (not a criticism) but she warmed up after a while. Great sense of humor! She didn't waste a motion. Part mechanic, part machinist, part artist, she did it all! Except for the bit reserved for the doctor. And, as for the Doc, very professional and caring. He understood and accommodated my hearing loss by speaking loudly and clearly. Dr. Ju personally administered the anesthesia injections. He was careful, patient, and, importantly, precise. Sometimes the injection pain comes from forcing in the medication too fast. He did not. And, he seemed to know exactly where the targeted nerve is. My numbness was only where it needed to be, no more. So, because the anesthesia was so precise, the drilling was painless. And, there was a lot of drilling! I really got my money's worth of doctor-time. Dr. Ju and his assistant were focused and concerned about my experience. I appreciated that!
