NIPSCO said that I needed an electrician to reattach the wire as it was not their responsibility to do such work. Enter Chris and Kurt - what a team! They work very well together and assessed my problem and gave me two estimates. They suggested to me that I go with option one and gave me a 1 year guarantee that if that didn't hold, they'd come back and provide option 2 and give me credit for what I already paid. They were very knowledgeable and friendly and answered all my questions. I'm very satisfied with the work they did and think their pricing was quite reasonable. I'm very glad to recommend them and kudos to the company for having these 2 guys working for them!

Although I have not hired yet just beware I have had several companies quote and they are the only…read moreones that charge a cost to come out to quote a project. That kind of tells me they will be overpriced. They did not tell me of they charge until they were out. I paid it but it seems a little weird. I will update when I see the quote, but right now for that it will be a 1 star. Adding on to this in response to peyton email. Thank you for your response and for refunding the $69 dispatch fee. I do want to clarify that I had no issue at all with your technician. He was very professional, and my review was not intended as a criticism of him or the service he provided while at my home. My concern was with the dispatch fee. Whether it was mentioned during the scheduling call or not, my underlying point was that I have had several contractors come to my home to quote work and have not encountered a separate dispatch fee simply to provide an estimate. As I stated, I also intended to revisit my review after the process was complete. Based on the professionalism of your technician and the fact that I felt your quote was reasonable, I would have given your company a much higher rating. That is why I find the decision to simply decline the work somewhat surprising. Rather than discussing my concern and allowing the overall experience to play out, you have chosen not to even consider moving forward with the project. From a customer's perspective, declining work because someone questioned a fee and expressed an opinion about it does not come across as particularly professional. I appreciate the refund, but I wanted to make sure my position was clear. My concern was never with your technician or the quality of his interaction with me. In fact, his professionalism and your reasonable quote had left me with a much more positive impression of your company before receiving this response.

Duane and what I think is his son came out the next morning for me on very short notice. The service was efficient and professional ,however, as with all electricians was pricey. Service call was 65, and as a journeyman its 76/hr plus the apprentice is like 50 something, so figure about 130/hr with both of them there. If you have to call an electrician, these two guys are where it's at. Also, no credit cards accepted, cash or check only. I didn't know that before hand but Duane let me drop it off later that day to his shop in Crown Point.

Later, another electrician correctly diagnosed the problem to be on the pole and nipsco came and fixed. Then, they never sent a bill. Made sense to me, probably embarrassed. Nope. Funny thing, they never checked but I rent the place. Anyway, I have a mid 700 credit score. I pay my bills on time. And will pay this one. But now I'm inspired to share my story and hopefully save anyone else from dealing with them.

So, we didn't start breakfast because of what he said. I called him back at 11:am asking where he is because we didn't want to be eating when he showed up. David said go ahead and eat. So glad we did he showed up around 1:30 fixed the problem charged 80.00. I asked about adding power for the garage. Quoted me 400.00 and will be back by the end of this week, I asked him if he wanted to make an appointment write it down. He said no I'll remember it. We waited for the rest of the week and he didn't show up at all. I ran pipes to the other side of the garage and everything that he instructed me to do. We were having a heater installed and he told me exactly where to put it basically so it's easier for him to do the wiring, so it was nice and close to the junction box, I had everything set up for him. He didn't show up that week didn't call the next Monday I had it all set up ready to do everything myself, but Monday he texted me and said Hey mike nothing else. He calls said he will be out. When he showed up, I showed him everything I set up. In the middle of working in the garage he is on the phone with a lady, she is dropping the "F Bomb" every few seconds. After he gets off the phone I asked " is that your wife?" No just his office partner. He went in to switch on the power and I hear a Big Poof and smell burning wires. I tell him about it looked but didn't touch anything. He's done I pay him, and he tells me I have to go out and buy the cover plate to cover the exposed wires. I bought the cover and as soon as I get to the box. Poof it happens again. I call Dave back up and he said he is with a customer right now I will call you right back (fri 4:22) No call Saturday no call So we go chasing after him again we call. I'll be out Sunday 8:am I get up at 7am waiting waiting gets to 8:30 still a no show. He went to his girlfriend's house in Chicago and stayed overnight. We live in Indiana. This is the 3rd set up and no show. Asked him to bring receipts for his last 2 visits. Didn't bring them. I gave him all my info for the receipt. Said he would have his office email it to us on Monday. Didn't happen. we had to call them to get it again. My wife looked up the brick and mortar of their location. It ended up being a Mexican restaurant. His website is off. He had my wife resend all the information that we already sent for the receipt again. She asked him to text him when it's done. I just went downstairs and looked at his work in the fuse panel, and I need your opinion. Does this look like a used fuse to you that he installed and charged me for?
