This year, I wanted to ask a few questions about my taxes before moving forward, so I asked if I could schedule a brief meeting. Dan immediately told me, "No, that's not how I operate." It wasn't just the answer that bothered me--it was the way he said it. He came across as abrupt and rude, making me feel like my questions weren't welcome. As a client, I think it's reasonable to want to understand my tax situation and ask a few questions before having my return prepared. I was essentially told that if I wanted him to do my taxes, I needed to simply drop off my paperwork and that was it. There are many tax professionals who not only do quality work but also take the time to communicate with their clients and answer questions. Because of my experience with Dan's attitude and lack of customer service, I won't be returning, and I can't recommend Sutherland Tax Services.
