Save yourself the grief and deal with a company that communicates accurately and effectively. Stay…read moreaway from them! I had a perfect credit score ruined by their terrible practices. I was a HELOC customer and they charge an annual fee. Well looking at the statement it appears the annual fee is charged to the line of credit. Nope, they bill it individually but they include it as a line item on your statement. So when I paid $40 over my minimum it didn't cover the $65 fee. The following month exactly 30 days later my auto payment hit again and paid the remaining $20. This scumbag company reported me 30+days late to the credit bureau and collections for essentially money that was paid to them that day. I never got a call, a letter, or an email saying I was late. There was no notification on my dashboard when I signed in every month. But the made sure to smear me on the exact 30th day late on $20 despite being paid that day. It took days to get an answer and I had to spend a few hours sorting through statements piecing it together myself because nobody could tell me why and no management would return my call. Despite no late payments in 3+ years with them they couldn't remove the late mark as a courtesy. The basically said it was my fault and they don't owe any phone calls, or email, or notifications you are late. I got one call it was from the collections dept 1 month later. I returned the call immediately and he said he had no idea why he was contacting me and to disregard. That's the only call I ever got. Now I'm preparing to get a loan to start a business and I run a credit checo and find I was reported 60 day late to TransUnion. So now I'm disputing it. This company ruined my 10yr record of over 1k payments on time. Perfect credit screwed by this circus of a bank. I paid 2k extra the month before and an extra regular payment but it ment nothing. All I needed was to know I was past due and I would of paid them no problem. I'm now trying to figure out how to take them to small claims or anything to return the favor. I have an appointment with a consumer rights attorney next week. Save yourself the heartache and stress and avoid this place all together.

I know it might not sound too exciting to review a bank, but here we go…read more.. First, I have had a home mortgage with them and a Home Equity line of credit for over 10 years. Their interest rates are always some of the lowest available and anything that can save me money is a plus in my book. Their online banking is easy to navigate and I feel very secure using it. The physical bank itself is very nice. A brand new, modern and brightly lit facility in a great location just east of Avon Commons and just west of Mitchell's ice cream - right in between shopping and snacking! The teller's I interacted with were friendly and I never had to wait for service. If you need a home loan or line of credit - Third Federal should be on your short list.

To say I am disgusted with Bank of England and their staff would be a gross understatement!…read more The process was TERRIBLE! The first red flag should have been when Ryan told me he didn't have time to pick up the phone and to just send an email. I should have RUN AND NEVER LOOKED BACK! A Mortgage is a big purchase and a long process. Asking the agent to take a few minutes to go over the process with you when you start is a pretty reasonable request. Basically telling a customer you don't have time for them is rotten customer service, and it only got worse from there. I would have never stayed with this company if I had it to do over. I would have went right to Bank of America where I have all of my accounts, but I was led to believe there were only 2 banks that offered the "special teacher financing" I was supposedly getting. In the end my rate wasn't anything special. The process was slow, the staff was rude. I tried to call the office but the NUMBER TO THE BRANCH WAS OUT OF SERVICE. This should have been another big red flag. Unfortunately we were right at the end of the process so I didn't pull the plug because I didn't want to start over with another bank. The underwriter dragged her feet. Then claimed to be missing documents that I had already sent, and I had the email trail on them. They kept pushing back the closing date. Finally, on the closing date they started changing the documents at the last minute. We sat there in the attorney's office for 3 hours waiting for the new documents. When they came the monthly payments were nearly $100 more than the agreed amount. I let it go because at that point I just wanted to close and be done with it, but I felt scammed. I was willing to let all this go and write it off to everyone being under Covid stress, but now to add insult to injury they immediately sold my mortgage to another company. I have never heard of this company and their online reviews are beyond terrible. I made 1 payment, supposed it is BOEs responsibility to transfer that payment to the new bank. I am sure chaos will ensue. I have zero fair in BOE and their staff. RUN RUN RUN! My take away from this experience is to stick with your home bank that you know no matter what type of special loan program a company supposedly has. Total disaster!
