The structure was purchased in 1903 by the Shearith Israel congregation and was used as a synagogue for over 50 years--known to the local Jewish community as the Tenth Street Shul. The building was sold to artist Wolfgang Pogzeba in 1958 and was used as his studio until 1973 when it became part of the new Auraria campus. It is the oldest religious structure in Denver and retains many of its original features. It has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places since 1969 and was the first building listed as a Denver historic site. The building has been lightly remodeled to serve as today's Emmanuel Gallery. It is part of the College of Arts & Media and is managed by the University of Colorado Denver. This mission of the gallery is to "enhance the understanding and experience of the visual arts" via exhibits, lectures, and events. Exhibits range from student and faculty work to presentations by local, regional, national, and international artists. This is a small, but high-quality gallery space and exhibits are always interesting and well-curated. The stone building with its Romanesque and Gothic influences is an unexpected surprise in the middle of the modern college campus. It is a fine spot for quiet reflection and contemplation.

It has more recently operated as the Saint Paul Lutheran Community of Faith, but the declining congregation was faced with an insuperable $1M+ repair bill after a recent engineering evaluation and made the difficult decision to give up the building which has now been deconsecrated. A nonprofit group was quickly formed to raise the funds needed to maintain the building as a performance venue. The sanctuary boasts exceptional acoustics and has been used for concerts for many years. The loss of this space would have been devastating for the arts community, so its last minute rescue is exceptionally good news. The new management organization will also make the sanctuary and other spaces available for both arts performances and community events including weddings and corporate meetings with spaces suitable for a range from small events to workshops to large conferences. The sanctuary/concert hall seats 400. State-of-the-art audio recording and video streaming are available. There are a variety of other spaces within the complex. I have been to many concerts here and can attest to its excellence as a performance space. This building is a major Denver landmark and I am thrilled to see such a terrific adaptive reuse in progress.

The parking leaves a lot to be desired for.....it's an epic cluster of a show. Like playing the roulette, you never know where one end's up. There is no lot (it's repurposed for food trucks) and no sign's to help direct folks to where the entrance is (FYI it's Tracks). I attended the RiNo Holiday Bazaar. I purchased a Groupon for unlimited mimosas during the 11a-2p Brunch Hours. Included was GA admission, sipping glass (which was always full) and a BOGO Breweries Passbook. There were so many wonderful vendors selling jewelry, clothing, candles and soap, just to list a few. The layout was a a bit messy to wonder through but for the most part, it was manageable. The bar tenders were amazing to keep up with the crowds and our never ending need to quench our thirsts. One of the best parts to the RiNo event was the acapella group Reunited, sharing holiday cheer with great tunes! Yes, there are restrooms. Yes, there are tables to sit and enjoy the yummies. Yes, it is dog friendly (well behaved service furries only). BTW, Native Roots Wellness was in hand with CBD products but they wouldn't sell to visitors...weird?????

My husband passed in January and I contacted them within a few weeks to start making arrangements. They were just making the transition to the new business so there were a few no contact issues, but totally understand given the circumstances. As the event grew closer, I had some facilities concerns and they addressed every single one. Again, starting a new business. I worked with Honey and Spencer on the planning and on the day, Spencer was there the whole time. They were nothing short of spectacular. Spencer was 110% on top of everything and was absolutely critical to the success of our event! The food was exceptional and the bar/ wait staff/servers were a well-oiled machine. The venue itself is a little rustic and rugged looking, but hey - that's why we went with it - it reminded me of my husband and I'd like to think he would've approved. My sincerest thanks to everyone at Roots! It was an awful thing to have to plan and execute, but they were absolutely wonderful in every way.

We just attended the "Dining in the dark, Taste of India" experience in Broomfield (2nd event at…read more8:30pm on 2/8). It was absolutely terrible! The event started an hour late, the food was basic and served in very small portions. The appetizer was supposed to be Samosas but very closely resembled a beef empanadas. Whatever they were, they were good. But, along the lines of Indian culture, aren't cows considered to be sacred animals? I'm almost certain that beef isn't part of traditional Indian diets. Maybe next time, serve lamb, chicken curry, etc.? All of the courses were small, cheap, and plain. To add insult to injury, we ordered a vodka soda (Tito's), and a domestic draft beer for which we paid $16. Other friends got a baseline Pinot Noir for $15/glass. The venue only offered one option per type of wine, and they charged $8 for domestic draft beer. These drink prices rivaled what is often charged at big sporting events in Denver?! They were overpriced and the service was subpar. This event was far from meeting expectations for the price. The atmosphere was beyond sad. It was set up in an open, sterile room, riddled with random vines and cheesy string lights. We expected an immersive experience rich with culture and good food. Instead, we listened to loud, obnoxious rap music at such high volume that it drowned out any opportunity for meaningful, interesting conversation. This event was put on by novice event planners, not professionals! Where is the culture?! Indian music, perhaps???? And, they don't tell you but on top of tipping for expensive drinks, and paying for the overpriced food, there is a mandatory $10/pp gratuity. Ridiculous! Skip this event! Go to a nice restaurant, spend the same amount of money, and treat yourself to a delicious meal. This event was nearly $250 for two people tonight and was awful!!!! It could've been the venue/catering company (Roots in Broomfield, CO), who knows?! It's a great concept but very poorly executed event! The venue, signage, and staff were equally disappointing. The kicker was the dumb bartender who was so baked that she gave us the vodka soda without vodka and tried to charge us the full price. All around, the event planning company, Fever, and it's partner/venue were an absolute mess! We will never attend another one of these events again!

Tuberculosis patients on the upper floor drank fresh milk from the cows in the barn below and breathed the barnyard fumes. This proved ineffective for curing disease and it was then used briefly as an asylum. Denver annexed Montclair in 1902/1903 (over the residents' objections). The City purchased the Molkery and remodeled it in 1909 to become the Montclair Civic Building--Denver's first community center. It was completely restored in 2003-2004 to the 1909 appearance. Today it houses the Denver Parks Permit Office and is available for event rental. The facility is air-conditioned and has a staging kitchen. The interior is 975 square feet and can accomodate a group of 50 indoors or 75 by also using the exterior. Insurance is required. Alcohol may be served with the proper permit and a licensed bartender. The exterior of the building is lovely. It sits in a corner of Montclair Park, surrounded by slightly rolling terrain. There is a large balcony that wraps around the building on two sides with a grand, rear staircase that drops to a substantial concrete patio. This is an unusual, historic, and flexible event space.

Most of the offices have giant windows, cute signage and are decorated with unique personalities. If I was in need of a co-working space, I wouldn't hesitate to look at INDUSTRY. It felt really great in there. It makes me want to invent something and move in. But this review is actually in regards to it as an event space. I attended the Dear Jack Foundation 11/10 VIP Preview night here and was pretty smitten with what a cool space it was. In case you're unaware, Dear Jack is Andrew McMahon's foundation for AYA cancer research and support. The VIP preview night is essentially an acoustic concert and private gathering the night before the benefit. I was a little hesitant about the show being in an open-concept co-working space, but the acoustics were surprisingly good for music. The program had a nice feel to it and it didn't feel too cramped. There was also plenty of parking outside and the valet situation wasn't a hot mess, which is always appreciated. Cool place all around!
