We compared Ecotech's bids to those of three other companies, and Ecotech won on total capacity, price per watt, and being easy to deal with. The install crew were great to have around, they kept us apprised of their progress, always completing each step on time. The permitting process was 100% taken care of by Ecotech, as was contacting PSE to have our system added, our net metering agreement, and having our meter swapped out. There are some sketchy practices in the solar industry, from solar loans with massive fees, to high pressure sales tactics. Ecotech avoids all of these. No pressure, no crazy loan schemes. At the end of the day, we have an amazing system that will provide 100% of our power for years to come. A week after the utility company gave the final okay, there has been zero contact from Banner. Not a "how are things going?" nor a "thanks for working with us" or even an attempt to sell us on their maintenance plan. :) Today, the final payment request arrived, from a no reply email no less. The longer version -- I had wanted to have solar for over a decade, but kept putting things off. After I contacted NW Wind and Solar they were excellent at explaining the process, talking me through any concerns I had and how the whole process goes down. They were easy to contact, easy to work with, they have multiple people who are highly knowledgeable about every aspect of the installation and stayed in touch with me after the installation to help me with getting set up with Seattle City Light. (As an aside, Seattle City Light is not easy to work with, but NW Wind and Solar did the majority of the leg work with them as well). Bottom line -- the money I spent for a solar system is the best money I have ever spent and I am really proud to be carbon free in terms of all of our electricity usage, heating and cooling. It was a hefty up front cost, but my bi-monthly electricity bill is now zero (ok, its $10 since Seattle City Light has a "service fee" they charge if you have a bill of zero) and I am going to get a large tax credit. Based on the first 6 months of costs, I will break even in 7 years and then after that it's all money in the bank. I love this company, I love my solar system and I hope you will hire this great group of people.

We were told by the installation manager, Dickson, that the city would replace our existing meter for a two way meter within maximum 3 months. This seems mostly the fault of Seattle City Light, with whom it seems nearly impossible to communicate. Without the two way meter, I'm still paying for electricity even though I have a functioning solar panel system on my roof - 8 months after the installation was complete. NW Wind & Solar gets a 1 star review because they haven't returned phone calls or email since the install was complete and are doing a terrible job advocating for their customer (me) with Seattle City Light. The receptionist I spoke with said they had re-organized but still no response from them. The previous reviews on Yelp were initially reassuring but something has changed at this company and I cannot recommend them at all.

I had a Generac installed three years ago, and recently, the light on the generator indicated it…read moreneeded service. I contacted TSE from a recommendation of another trades person, and I can't say enough about the high level of service I received. Generator Technican Morgan Anderson came by at the appointed time, and he quickly serviced everything. He found a problem with acid leaking around the battery post. I said I had that repaired about a year ago with a new cable for lots of $$ from the original install company (not TSE), but Morgan said that would never fix the problem as it was the battery. He replaced the battery and trimmed the battery cable back three inches, attached a new post clamp and finished. I wish I had called them last year to avoid the expensive repair (base fee to send out a technician was $450 not including parts!) Morgan is so friendly and competent and is happy to explain what he is doing making suggestions to keep my Generac, which I love, working at peak level. I also got great service from the office manager who took my call to schedule the appointment. And when I made the appointment, the manager said that they charge a flat fee including many normal wear parts for a fraction of the company that installed my system. Of course, I had to pay for the new battery. I highly recommend TSE for Generac installation and maintenance.

They explained everything before, during and after the install and let us know that we can always call. Everyone from the plumber (who did the gas piping) to the electrician (who did the wiring) worked together like a well-oiled machine. We are very pleased with their workmanship and would highly recommend them. We are now ready for any power outages!
