The do an 'investigation' which primarily consists of pressuring the elderly to sign up with an agency to take care of their finances and other activities--which, just coincidenly, they also provide!! This is a conflict of interest at best, and unfair and deceptive business practices at worst. They are shameless and will tell you they have the authority go anywhere and do anything they like, but cannot quite seem to show where that 'authority' comes from. it is certainly not in the form of a badge or warrant. Even after the elderly person refuses services several times, they refuse to drop the 'investigation' until they can 'verify' the elderly person is 'competent' to make that decision. They also refuse to provide detailed documentation of the abuse 'claim' as required under Mass general law 19A, chapter 23, paragraph c as follows: (c) The department, any designated agency, or any other agency obligated to make an assessment under this chapter shall inform in writing an individual, upon his request, whether he is a data subject, as that term is defined in section one of chapter sixty-six A, with respect to records created or maintained under this chapter, and if so, the department or agency shall make such data fully available to him or his authorized representative, upon his request, in a form comprehensible to him, unless doing so is prohibited or excused under the provisions of this or any other statute. In making any disclosure or information to a data subject the department or agency may remove personal identifiers relating to a third person, except where such third person is an officer or employee of a government or non-governmental department or agency obligated to make assessments under this chapter. How do i know this? As a designated representative for an elderly person I requested information and was flat out refused. I quoted the law, and was still refused. Legal action is pending....

I like my…read morecaregiver, but if you try to leave a message on the weekend, you get a recorded message that says to wait for the next available responder, then plays musak that doesn't end. No way to leave a message. I've been told that I was contacted and a message left when it wasn't. Also that they must have called the wrong person. I said they had to think of new excuses, as they have used these several times.

In reality, this rarely happens. What's worse: appointment dates are frequently changed without any notification. No one calls to inform you of the change, and no one reaches out the night before the (new) visit. You're forced to call the office yourself just to learn what's going on. The staff then has to track down the nurse or therapist to find out why the date was altered, when they now plan to come, and to ask them to call you to reschedule. This disrupts your entire day and makes planning impossible.I've had to call the office every single day instead of them proactively contacting me to set a convenient time. For example: my mother has a serious bedsore, and a nurse was scheduled to visit today. We heard nothing. When I called, I was told the nurse unilaterally moved the appointment to another day--the same day my mother has a doctor's visit. This level of disorganization is unacceptable. The individual caregivers who do show up are polite and competent, but the scheduling system is broken, and the office staff can be curt and unhelpful. I would not recommend this agency. To be fair, the Visiting Nurses of Worcester have similar issues with reliability. It's disappointing that home-care services--fully covered by Medicare--are managed so poorly in this region. Staff turnover appears high, or the agencies simply don't have enough providers for the patient load. Either way, securing dependable care in Worcester remains a real challenge.

Yes Five Stars. Not given lightly. My father first used this company because of a friend's…read morerecommendation a year ago. He had just had a pace-maker installed and needed help at home. Complete Private Home Care sent out various people to handle everything we needed, carefully following his Primary Care Physician's list. This included an initial consult with Sue and then Danielle the nurse in charge of all the other aides and therapists. I know their names because I had to use them again after my father ended up in the hospital again this time with pneumonia. I didn't have much experience with home health workers when I hired Complete Home Health. However because of my age (mid 50s) I have had too much experience with my friend's parent's aides and assisted living situations. Also I had to oversee aides in Texas for my grandparents. So while I had not personally hired but one aide before (freelance--without an agency--also a friend's recommendation) I do feel able to award those five stars. What sets them apart? First they are very professional. I think perhaps because they are a smaller company, they are on top of each of their clients. They always knew who I was, and who my dad was and which workers were involved in his care. The co-ordinator Jon has a handle on all the clients. Next, the Administrative nurse has a great list of caregivers she can call upon. My father had problems swallowing and was prone to inhalation pneumonia, the therapists helped him learn strategies for eating. Physical therapists taught him to get him up walking again, home assessors came for safety. Further, they took a huge load from my shoulders by communicating with my father's Primary Care Physician at Harvard, so I did not need to still be in charge of all that on top of all the rest I was in charge of. Finally, all the people were loving and I never worried someone would steal from us or hurt my dad. They demonstrated far more patience than frankly, I had left in me. They suggested intelligent solutions to home problems such as different pill containers, cutting back shrubs for ease on stairs, removing certain roll around chairs, etc. They responded Immediately, and were able to be at the house within 4 hours of suddenly learning he was being released from rehab. When I was forced to hire them for out of pocket 24 hour care, they were able to make this far more affordable by charging for blocks of hours. Because we had installed 2 Drop-cams we could see that the 24 hour aides were never more than 20 feet away. This is a fabulous company. Hire them and feel safe. If you are like me, you need it.

While we had a caring nurse, the nurses in general are extremely inexperienced when it comes to end of life care. There was disconnect between the nursing providers and the medical director. This hospice has no contracts in place with nursing homes, hospice houses or hospital facilities. This means if they are unable to control your loved one's pain at home, they do not have relationships with inpatient providers and the family will be on their own. This was not a consideration our family thought to consider when selecting a hospice provider. This hospice also cannot offer IV medication administration in the home so we were forced to administer massive amounts of oral and rectal medications to try achieve a level of comfort for my mom which we never did. Ultimately we had to put my mom back in a hospital for pain control. We were directed to a specific facility out of our community because we were told there WAS a contract in place and that would ensure smooth transition and continuity of care. Upon arrival to the hospital we were informed no such contract was in place. Nashoba Nursing Services & Hospice essentially abandoned my family at the worst and most critical hours. My mother passed in the hospital less than 24 hours later. It has been nearly a week and we never heard from hospice again. Do your homework. Look online at senioradvice.com and the HPCFM to find reviews of other services. Also consider a service where hospice is their primary business. This company is more of a home health service than a hospice,

I highly recommend this agency.
