    Thit ba chi rang
    Megan N.

This place serves Thai, Vietnamese and Chinese dishes. There are some reviews that question the authenticity but the owners/workers are Vietnamese so it's at least authentic on that portion of food. Interlaken has a wide arrangement of food choices which is great because we were getting sick of the typical Swiss foods. We went here not expecting much because of the reviews but really enjoyed the food and came back a second time. We might have gone a third time but I didn't want the owner to judge me haha. The first night we got the Canh chua ca and thai omelette. A contender of the best Canh chua ca I have ever had to be honest. Loved the tamarind sour flavor and little hints of spice. They added dill which made it more flavorful. The Thai omelette was ok but it hit the spot. The next day I got pho and my husband got the thit ba. To be honest I had no idea what thit ba was and just assumed it would be similar to thit kho. It came in a sizzling pan and was super good! Not like thit kho but had a great texture and full of flavor. The pho was alright but honestly with it being cold outside it was pretty substantial. They had fresh herbs and there was a google review about them not having hoisin but the owner/worker went up to me personally to hand me it without me asking. Some things to note, I am Vietnamese and spoke to them in that language so I felt like they were overly kind to me. There is one waiter who lacks any emotion and seems to not want to be there. It is clear that he is the one people mention in Google reviews hahaha. The older guys were really kind though!

3.5 stars because I think they took the reviews & constructive criticism into consideration. Still one of the better Asian restaurants I've had in Switzerland. Fried rice was decent and it tastes pretty good with sriracha. Pho was a bit plain but salty. Some reviews complained about the lack of flavor and I think they've improved -- started offering sriracha to those who want more flavor in their dishes. Service was quick. Can't speak for ambiance, but the outdoor seating has a nice street view! Basically, if you're craving Asian food while in Interlaken, I'd recommend coming here.

This is in a small town in Switzerland so unfortunately, the taste isn't authentic despite the restaurant's name. I had a bowl of clear glass noodle soup that is nearly $30USD (gasp!) that is refreshing but is a far distant cousin of the "mien ga" noodle soup. Broth was clear, refreshing, but a little on the blander side. The toppings were truly out of place. We also had a side of egg rolls that were the tiniest eggrolls I've ever come across! They were literally the size of my husband's thumb! Service was decent. The men there were funny though once they found out that I'm also Vietnamese. Apparently there aren't too many VN visitors in Interlaken so they gawked at me like I was a zoo animal.

Not sure why this place only has 2.5 stars on Yelp. I'm glad we gave it a try because their Thai food was really good. I'm from SF Bay Area where there's plenty of authentic Asian foods. Honestly, the Thai food at this place is comparable to the ones in CA. They do have a lot of different things on the menu, but we didn't go with Chinese because they were playing Thai music in the background lol I ordered the green curry with tofu and it was delicious. The curry was creamy and flavorful; definitely wasn't expecting to find good Thai curry in Switzerland. My husband ordered the pho tai and it was more like Thai boat noodle, which was really good too. The ingredients tasted fresh. We also tried their tom yum soup and it tasted better than some of the ones in the Bay Area. The curry came with a bowl of hot & sour soup and it was bad. It didn't taste like hot & sour soup at all. The prices aren't cheap for Asian foods, but it was acceptable for Switzerland. I'd recommend this place & I'd say stick with their Thai or Vietnamese dishes.

    Large Thom Yum with Rice

This restaurant is located a few minutes away from Interlaken Ost. First impressions when walking in was that it smelled of cleaning chemicals. That kind of turned me off, but we still decided to stay and eat since we were already there. We were seated immediately. For some reason, I thought the menu was going to be extensive since they serve Vietnamese, Chinese, Thai & Korean. I ended up ordering the sweet & sour pork and large Tom Yum soup. The food came out in a normal amount of time. Now, I have to admit that I already had very low expectations before coming here, but I wanted a break from Italian & German/Swiss food that we've been eating for the last 5 days. When the food came out, I was like seriously, I'm paying $25+ for the amount they give you. I felt ripped off already, but then remember that I'm not in LA anymore so everything's going to cost much more. But they could at least fill the soup to the brim. This is why I am rating this place 3 stars. But if I was to rate their food, I would probably give them a solid 4 because of the circumstances. The sweet and sour pork was crispy and flavored well. The Tom Yum was pretty good, but a tad salty for my. They added 5 large shrimp that was juicy and plump. If the dishes cost $10-$15 then I would definitely give the a higher rating. I didn't have any issues with their service, so it must be a one off for those that did complain about their servers.

    Pho

This review is for Pho dish as we didn't try other items on the menu. Coming from San Jose, California, we're always a bit skeptical about Pho outside of San Jose, but it was a really pleasant surprise to taste the Pho here. Take it from a Vietnamese who loves Pho, the broth was totally legit, flavorful. The rare sliced beef was fresh and tender. Even though the pho style is Northern, they did provide basil and bean sprouts like what we Southerners are used to, which was a nice touch. The restaurant was very clean with clean restrooms. The service was good and the owner was very friendly. I would definitely come back to try other dishes if I was in the area longer. A tip to other travelers, the owner is Vietnamese, so maybe just stick to ordering Vietnamese dishes. I know the restaurant has an extensive menu and it might be overwhelming. Also, many people commented on the price. Well, you should already know that food is most expensive in Switzerland,. This restaurant's prices are about to the same as others.

Truly bad. The fried rice was not even like fried rice. The sweet and sour chicken was bland and the wan tan soup was wah wah blah.
