    acai bowl
    Chris W.

I actually don't like trying acai places because they can be so hit and miss. Sometimes the acai can be like a frozen hockey puck and sometimes it can be bland. That was absolutely not the case here. I thought the acai was delicious. The serving size is about the same size container you would see at a frozen yogurt place, which was sufficient for me. Something I found interesting was that usually acai places offer pretty basic other options such as sandwiches and paninis. Here it was Brazilian cheese bread and also empanadas, which I would like to try if I'm back in the area. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I do think it is amusing that I was initially concerned that they wouldn't be open for dinner hours. Turns out they don't close until midnight[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. Welcome to LA!

My girlfriend and I went to eat açaí bowls when we were in LA and [[HIGHLIGHT]]everything from the service to the ambiente was amazing![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The fruits were all cut fresh, the açaí was delicious. Also if you really like empanadas, this is a great spot to get them. We tried one beef and one pepperoni and we loved them! [[HIGHLIGHT]]They also play Brazilian music so the ambience is great and authentic.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

I finally tried Truly Açaí and I'm so glad I did because everything was actually SO good. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The shop is super cute, clean, and just has that fresh, feel-good energy when you walk in.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I ordered 2 açaí bowls and 2 smoothies (yes I went all in lol) and every single thing tasted fresh and high quality. The PB açaí protein smoothie had 59g of protein and was thick, creamy, and really filling. The Tropical Dream smoothie literally tasted like a vacation in Mexico. So refreshing. For my bowls, I mixed the bases and did half oat matcha with açaí for one and half coconut with açaí for the other. The coconut base was unreal. Easily my favorite. I was obsessed with the flavor. The service too was really great. The lady that helped me and made our yummy treats was super nice and friendly! Healthy, delicious, and actually satisfying. Definitely one of my new go-to spots when I'm craving something clean but still fun. I'll 100% be back.

Was wondering about this new spot for a while now. I regret not trying it sooner. If you're in ktown, forget about waiting in line and looking for seats at the shaved ice (bingsoo) spots. Go here! [[HIGHLIGHT]]Ample seating and the A/C was blasting.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I never liked the sweet aftertaste in my mouth that made me thirsty after froyo or shaved ice. The açaí bowl was refreshing!! Really FRESH FRUIT and the frozen açaí was not too sweet. Also, take a shot at hitting the time clock right at 10 seconds to WIN A FREE BOWL to use during the weekday.

I got the smallest size and I felt like the portion was still so big (in a good way). I've never ordered from an açaí place that has a guava base - my mind is blown. Guava flavor is on point and it's a bit sweeter than the regular açaí (I got both flavors to compare). The assortment of toppings is great and the consistency was still nice after a 30 min DoorDash ride. Would definitely recommend and I'll be ordering from here again soon!

Absolutely love coming here ! The lady that works makes such a good acai bowl. The perfect amount of toppings and she is so nice !! I will definitely be back

Finally tried truly açaí and it's TRULY delicious!!!! Ingredients tasted fresh and refreshing, I had the double base of mango and açaí with original toppings. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I was impressed, the place is clean, friendly staff, and I even win their 10sec clock challenge[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] . Will be back to enjoy this place

Açaí bowls were fresh, fruit was good, and good options from the menu to customize to your liking. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Staff was nice, place was very clean/organized.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We did eat it at the location, so I think a lot of the negative reviews are based on postmates/delivery services.. but what do you expect when you are too lazy to delivery service a frozen item lol. Overall I'd recommend, and come again if I'm in the area for acai bowls!

Come here! Our smoothies were so good! I got the wake up smoothie with added protein and my dad got the berry storm smoothie. Both were 5/5 super delicious. I really recommend the wake up smoothie if you like peanut butter/chocolate type stuff. Also really nice guy, I assume he's the owner. Friendly and good customer service. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The shop also has a nice vibe to it.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Would return.

the man who helped me let us try the new guava base and it was so good I've never tried a base like that! identical to guava fruit!! AND you can write on a chalkboard he has a bunch of cute chalk you can write with!!

By far the best Açaí Bowls in downtown! The açaí was fresh, the fruit was fresh and it also turned out great after having it delivered to the fire station! It wasn't melted like other açaí deliveries I've ordered. Will definitely be making this a weekly stop! Highly recommend it!

    Rachel F.

Great vibe, great kind owner from Brazil, and GREAT acai!!! Was super surprised to see negative reviews - I got the açaí and mango base and everything was super fresh. I wasn't expecting to get it but after he gave a sample it was too good to refuse! Gives generous toppings + drizzles. If you're thinking about coming here definitely try it out!!! Super authentic, the owner Rafael explained how açaí bowls are commonly topped with condensed milk in Brazil so I gave that a try. So glad this spot opened up!!

It was also annoying for the waitress (not the gal that served us btw - a host perhaps) to give the vibe like they were doing us a favor by applying the $50 Birthday promo that THEY send via email (note, I verbally this flagged when we arrived just in case - but they didn't initially have it on our bill). My head is thinking "calm down--we ate minimally and got drinks. Don't offer it if you're going to have an attitude about adjusting the bill". It was just weird. They also didn't offer any bday dessert treat but we weren't super pressed bc we were so full. The meat was a bit overdone and all kind of tasted the same this visit. Didn't get to try the lamb chops and a few other meats, but still has a nice variety. Salad bar is top notch and consistent, although wish their black beans were plain due to all the meat. Drinks were ok--heavy pours but lower quality wine. The $29 "Wine Experience" package was worth it for my husband who likes variety of wines with his dinner depending on what he's eating. I'm sure I'll come again but it's been bumped a few notches on my Go To list.

While asking a few questions and trying to decide what to order, I met Miss Fatima herself the legendary owner who has made Café Brasil a staple in Los Angeles for the last three decades. Did not even get a full refund for a ruined night. Here is the story. My girlfriend went to treat herself to a midnight snack and a few drinks. A few minutes in, she calls me from the restroom and tells me she just rejected a man that bought her pasta. This man was friends with the bartender who we were told was named Josue. I remained on the phone with her, via her earphones, so I heard the entire conversations going forward. She did so to feel more comfortable while she finished off her drinks. When she ordered another drink, a female bartender was about to serve her the final drink when Josue, the male bartender (friends with the guy that got rejected) told the female bartender to cut her off. She had 2 small glasses of wine and a weak cocktail. The bartender herself was confused as to why she was asked to cut her off. She was going to ask for the check, pay, have her final drink and leave. Mind you, entire time, I'm on the phone hearing what's going on. Shes confused and then it kinda clicks for her that Josue might have cut her off for rejecting his buddy. A different bartender verbally confirmed that Josue was friends with the reject. Understandably, disrespectful. She asked for the manager, Israel. At this moment, she was mentioning how Josue never even served her or took her order, so asked for what reason he cut her off. Instead of trying to explain policy or deescalate the situation Israel then said that she was cut off by his orders. Not only did Israel fail communicate that the bar seats close at 1am and that the establishment does not serve alcohol past 130am, he sided directly with the bartender that unjustly cut her off. I have time stamps, and all conversations recorded, including via my dash am as I was on the way to pick her up. She asked for her check twice and didn't get it, then got more upset. She still paid even after this. My girlfriend leaves the establishment after paying, distraught. I'm still on the phone hearing everything. As she's talking to me outside, she tells me that Josue walks away from his station, to qawk at her crying and make fun of the situation with the guards. If that's not unprofessional, I don't know what is. Sexist. Unacceptable behavior. This seem to me as a gross retaliation from an employee with ties to a guy at a bar that got rejected, so he vindictively cut off the girl his friend got rejected by. With no explanation. Now I ask, how would you feel if a female family member or your significant other went through this? Cut off, no explanation, coincidentally by a bartender that's friends with a guy she just rejected, voices her perceived disrespect to management, then gets ignored, dismissed, and treated with more disrespect. Anyway. When I arrive, I pick her up, park, and go to speak with management myself. My phones recording the entire time as well. I meet with the guards first. "Hey, can I talk to your manager, Israel?" and they fetch him for me. I then ask Israel what happened from his perspective. He then tells me about the 1am and 130 policy. Mind you, they never told her this policy. I asked if he had told her and he said" I tried." That was a lie that I caught him in. Never even tried. I told him I was on the phone the entire time and confirmed that he didn't state any policies. This is when he went silent, did that " oh, welp, caught me there" look. I then asked, if I can just get a refund on her behalf due to failing to properly communicate, serve, and ruining her night. He says" I'll see what I can do." Takes the ID and credit card, comes back and tells me he issued a partial refund. He then goes on to explain the policy again, claimed she started to call him names (caught him in another lie, she never called him anything), how she was not drunk (verbally confirmed that there was no reason to cut her off, yet still did, and it was not 130am yet), and that she is welcomed back anytime, and that he would offer discounts next time too. We used to frequent this spot, multiple times a week at times. Unfortunately, we cannot in good conscience continue to support an establishment with management that not only fails to properly communicate with their staff and guests, lies, but also vindictively takes the side of a bartender that cut off a girl that rejected his friend. Pretty tone deaf to give the regular who's night you ruined, a partial refund after blindly siding with your staff, failing to listen to complaints, lying, and ruining her night. Do better.
