Fortunately, we'd walked past the Mexican Hat on the way, and decided to give it a go. What a great, welcoming staff and a very good chef. Our foursome ordered tacos al pastor, veggie tacos, and tacos alahombre. Each was served street-style, with great corn tortillas. Ordered beans and rice on the side..also excellent, along with the salsa bar! Atmosphere was perfect...earthy Mexican diner style and reasonable prices! We really enjoyed chatting with the staff. Loved the HUGE utensils hanging from the ceiling. They have both indoor and outdoor seating. Staff was friendly. I suspect if I would have come here for the coffee and a pastry, I would have loved it. For lunch, it was ok.

Beyond that, nothing happened very quickly, or accurately. We ordered chips & guacamole (+$3 for guacamole, instead of salsa), received chips & salsa ($8) , tho they did bring guacamole. We ordered wild mushroom pizza & they brought bacon pizza. They no longer had dry hopped sour so they gave me a tropical fruit beer. All of the mixed drinks I tried were too sweet & a fruity beer does not fill in well for a sour lover, it wasn't that anything was bad, it just wasn't what we ordered & it took 2hrs for pizza & chips. I do love the layout & decor throughout. There are both standard tables & hightops, as well as patio seating. They just need to work out the kinks, like, giving you what you order.

I had lunch there yesterday and dinner today. I was pleasantly surprised, the menu hasn't changed but the food/service has improved...how often has that happened lately? :) I think Argos has a good ambiance for the slightly more mature customer. I like how good staff is with elderly customers and they always try to meet their needs. Be gentle with the young waitresses, it's probably their first job and they always try their best but maybe a bit shy at first. The kitchen staff seem to have things well under control. No long waits or out of any items. In short, it's not a fancy high end restaurant rather a family diner that offers a delicious full course meal for the price of a Big Mac combo.
