A parent (unfortunately) banks at Citi so I've been roped into dealing with this sorry excuse for a bank. You have to make an appointment for almost any transaction. When you make an appointment you may have to wait anyway. They tell you they will call to follow up and never do. They have limited staff so be prepared to wait. Perhaps I am spoiled because I bank at another institution and I can easily walk in and accomplish what I need to do with friendly, courteous service. I am biding my time till when I am able to pull all funds from Citi. Stay away...

Citi is in general incompetent when it comes to timely client communications. Received block notice…read morealleging checking/savings (non-credit card) inactivity for 24 months in October 2023 for an account established in June 2021. 24 months would have been in June 2023, not October. Citi clearly doesn't know how to tell time (red flag for anyone considering their dishonest banking services). Sir/Ma'am: Where does it even say in the terms and conditions/customer agreement about account block "inactivity"? Most banks don't do that and are very understanding of their various customers needs, so I'm not recommending Citi to family, friends, or anyone with common sense just like the other 1-star reviewing customers.

I found exactly what I was looking for in John Marshall Bank. Everyone on the team knows who you are - which makes walking in the door to my local branch a great experience. The people at John Marshall Bank take time to learn about you as a person as well as your business interests. You know that your short term and long term needs (personal and professional) are on their minds. In addition to the personalized customer support and friendly atmosphere, I also have been very pleased with the advances they have made in their digital services. At their heart, they are a community bank that is committed to the local region. But they know that in today's world, our personal and business interests extend well beyond Northern Virginia. They continue to make advances, which is a great sign for the future. Over the last few years I have steadily expanded my accounts at John Marshall Bank. As my business interests have expanded, I know I have a reliable partner that can help me along the way. I highly recommend John Marshall Bank. Step into a branch and open an account. It is a relationship worth starting.

Then I met Tom, and he introduced me to this awesome super-bank. This has got to be the best-kept secret in the entire DC area. Not only does this bank do what the others do better (no fees whatsoever, great customer service, free check card), they gave me a check scanner for free. When I have an issue, I call the Vice President on his mobile phone. The VICE PRESIDENT. Wow. Just do yourself a huge favor and close your nickel-and-dimed account at Bank of Steal My Money and open an account with MainStreet. And no, they didn't pay me to write this!

I've never felt like I was important at a bank. They have numerous locations and are opening a new one in Leesburg. Their debit cards are usable at all ATMs and most with no fee. She always goes out of her way to keep the clients happy. Highly recommended! I also moved my business account here. Now, I'm able to use credit card processing at a fraction of the cost the major credit cards charge. Well worth trying it. 5 stars!!!!
