Great selection and fair prices on tools, appliances, wood, doors, etc... Also can get pro level power tools here--that's why there are so many professionals going here daily to get tools, parts, accessories, and materials for their jobs. Customer service has been excellent for returns as well.

We used to be loyal Home Depot customers and really appreciated this Milpitas location. The crew…read morewas always helpful when we needed assistance finding materials or had questions about our projects. They made shopping here a pleasant and productive experience. Unfortunately, things have changed dramatically. Last year, we went there to purchase windows for our kitchen, and the experience was incredibly frustrating. We've made at least three separate trips to the store specifically to work with someone at the windows desk, and each time we've encountered the same problem: no one is there. Our Experience: Visit 1: No one at the windows desk. Went to customer service, they used the intercom to call for assistance, but no one showed up. We were told staff were at lunch and asked to come back another time. Visit 2: Again, no one at the windows desk. This time we were told they were at a training class. Visit 3: Same story - desk unmanned, no help available. We were finally able to get help on our fourth visit, but the repeated trips were frustrating and time-consuming. I understand staff need lunch breaks and training is important, but there should be coverage for specialized departments like windows, especially during regular business hours. It's unreasonable to expect customers to make multiple trips hoping someone will be available. I'm not sure if this is a staffing shortage issue, but Home Depot needs to ensure they have adequate staff to support customer needs, particularly in departments that require expertise and consultation.

Their inventory is dominated by your typical cultivars of philodendrons, anthuriums, pothos, etc. Most of these plants are widely available at garden centers and other plant stores. Even the carnivorous plants and staghorn fern they had are varieties I've commonly seen elsewhere. They also carry spray painted tillandsias, a practice I dislike because it obscures the plant's natural appearance and is something I generally associate with novelty retail rather than horticulture. I visited hoping to find some unique specimens, such as uncommon orchids, metallic leaved begonias, rocklike pseudolithos, or other harder to find collector plants. Casual indoor plant owners would probably find this store adequate, but I'd recommend those looking specifically for rare or unusual plants to skip this place. Update: Soon after writing this review I got a very emotionally charged message from the owner who mentioned that my review is a "public dig" and asked "Is it your goal to damage a women owned and run small business?". It leaves a bad taste in my mouth when I leave an honest respectful review (all I did was highlight who this store would be good for!) and I get a response like that. Especially ending in her saying "I hope you have a better day than I now will have". It's all very unprofessional.

First visit to Crimson Horticultural Rarities on Piedmont Ave but a frequent visitor to their former location in the Temescal Neighborhood and bought my first air plant about 10 years ago. Floor staff friendly, provides assistance and advice. Ended up with a Swiss Cheese plant (monstera adansonii) kokedama which is the Japanese art of growing plants in a moss-covered ball which is definitely a conversation piece. Pricing on the higher side so I visit for the unique arrangement or rare plant I haven't found. Crimson Horticultural Rarities also provides full service event arrangements and indoor plant design for your place.

Although many of his plants are in hibernation mode for the winter, he's kept busy, turning his garden into a lovely display of art, light, and music. Impressive for an independent passion project, and it isn't easy, I know after talking to the guy, especially when working with second hand materials and trying to make things perform together smoothly (sound, light, etc.). A lot of what he's used to create his garden and show is recycled (ie. old broken musical instruments as planters) or items that others were ready to throw away. The owner saved and made use of them, turning it into something positive for the holidays. Even some of his original artwork is washed up and weathered, but still beautiful and unique, such as the adorable frankenstein bunnies... turned elves for xmas!?! You can't enter the garden as it's private property, but you can view and hear the show from the very wide sidewalk out front, and it replays the same set of three songs every half hour during the evening, starting at 7:00pm (though the lights in the garden turn on earlier), engaging adaptations of classic holiday tunes by Pentatonix. Street parking is limited. But since it's a brief show, parking at the church across the street is likely not a problem if they're not busy. Simply charming and perfectly imperfect, plus it's free to check out, I'll gladly stop by when I'm in the area to enjoy this over and over, as it just makes me smile... especially with all the bunnies! :P

Loved the original artwork! Great music selection with synchronized light show. Definitely brought…read morethe holiday spirit to the neighborhood.
