This is the second year that I have been using TruGreen lawn service Last year they did a great job and my grass was mostly weed free. This year however, they are not spraying around the edges of the grass. I have called them several times about this and did not get satisfaction from customer service even though they came out and did a free application. Then they applied grub control that I did not authorize and they want me to pay for it. I emailed the company over a week ago and have gotten no response. They have canceled my account, which is fine, because no longer want to deal with them. They can forget about me paying for the grub control!! read more

Cutting my grass again and still no visit from TruGreen! (It's just coming back from what my husband said was fertilizer burn.) It's been over a month and I have been calling weekly to get them to take care of all these weeds. I've gotten ONE return call and the message was "We are unable to treat your lawn today." This is their "work": read more

If I could give them zero stars I would. Our yard is half weeds and our grass is starting to die. Never ever ever ever will I use this company again. We've had techs show up to our house that do not complete the service that is listed on THEIR notes they leave on our door (we have cameras). We've had really weird techs show up, techs that don't care or have any pride in what they do. We've also had a nice tech or two to be dI've asked the manager to call me and he has not. He showed up to "spot treat" days later which is not what I asked. Coward. I don't want them touching our yard ever again. They clearly have no idea what they are doing. They do know how to destroy a really expensive yard. We used a different local company last year and did not have any issues. You get what you pay for in this case. ***Every time I complain they tell me to contact them again in a private message. Why do I have to keep contacting you via all of these different channels when you've heard 100 times I'm unhappy. Why don't you talk to each other? Just do the right thing and give me my money back. And how about you contact me, I'm the customer. ***Update: we contacted Trugreen's CEO's office, received a full refund as we requested, went back to our old company, Personal Long Care, they treated our yard and it has zero weeds now! Proof that Trugreen has no business being in business. read more

I tried TRUGREEN for the first time and it will be my last. I paid for the 7 treatment package deal which included grub control. For my first application, the tech came out and did a subpar job on my yard. In fact, he completely missed an area of the front yard and the back. I made a complaint and they sent another tech out to fix it. The tech got to my house to apply the free service application. He tried the the personnel gate which was locked, and left. He did not try the double ornamental gate which I left unlock in case he had to drive his equipment through which was 15ft from the other gate. After he left I called and complained again. They apologized once again and sent another tech to my house a few days later. He did half of the back yard and left. All this was caught on camera. After seeing the results, I laid down my own fertilizer in specific areas and I called them back and requested a manager to meet me at my house so I could show them the difference. The manager met me at my house and we walked my entire property. I showed him the areas that their techs missed as well as the difference in the shade of grass where I put down my own fertilizer and what they did. He stated that there was a significant difference. He even took pictures and stated that he will be out the next morning (5/13/22) with the tech to redo the entire property. The next day the tech pulled up to my house at 9:11 with out the manager. I was notified by the TRUGREEN app and my security cameras around my house. He got out of his track, walked around my property as if inspecting, walked back to his truck, and at 9:19 I got an invoice saying service completed with "1000 sqft mechanical spray, fertilizer, preemergent, BL weed herbicide. Total Volume 14.51 Gal, total sqft 7256". At 9:22 he left. All this was caught on camera. I called the manager and asked if I was "being pranked". He said there was a mix up in communication and that they will be back out Friday evening. They never showed and I got no calls from them to apologize or anything. Just terrible service. I would no recommend them at all. I filed a complaint with the BBB! read more

If I could give Trugreen negative stars I would. I signed up for a package deal and paid in advance because it's cheaper. My first treatment, the technician ran over and ruined my landscape edging and ripped off a gutter extension (didn't bother to put it back on either). I called customer service to explain as well as ask for the service I was promised during my first treatment: lawn/soil analysis. The technician didn't even leave a paper detailing the treatment! Not only that but we had storms that morning and that afternoon, so the service should've been rescheduled. I managed to get an appt for the lawn analysis and, instead, they RETREATED my lawn 2 weeks later. Still no lawn analysis. Yesterday I was supposed to get service and received an email that said my service was canceled (no reason listed). So I called and explained how horrible my service has been thus far. Customer service indicated that my appointment was still open and the technician had from 1-6 pm. I told him to cancel it and refund me the remaining package I paid for in advance. This morning I get an email saying my yard was treated!! I called customer service and asked for verification of my cancellation and the rep said she couldn't resend it bc my account was locked. It took TWO more reps before I got that confirmation. NEVER AGAIN. This company is absolutely horrible and many (not all) of their customer support team members are incompetent. Stay away from Trugreen!!! read more

What a scam!! Don't do it. My son caught the guy only doing part of my lawn a couple times. Still had weeds, tried to upsell to some pesticide thing for my trees. Decided to go with the aeration service one year, never signed up for it the next year and yet they showed up and did it. Now they want payment for it. Spoke with their customer service, thought we had it straightened out then got a call back demanding half. DON'T USE THEM, DON'T USE THEM, DON'T USE THEM!!!! read more

I have had this company for three years now with very little improvement and we finally figured out why. According to the neighbors the truck comes briefly sprays the front and a little of the side yard and puts invoice on door and leaves all in about 10 min. My yard is approximately 3/4 of an acre with the house in the center the house sits long ways. The guys have to drag a heavy hose around this big yard and apparently they don't want to. The weeds are multiplying I have to keep calling them back out. We are supposed to get our two large stumps sprayed in the back due to the heavy weeds around them and they don't. We get a notification they are coming we jump up get dressed and the ring doorbell goes off he left the invoice already and is gone before I can run out there, what kind of notice is that? I have tried explaining to the guys where my boundary lines are for my odd shaped yard and we get remarks like boy you guys really take advantage don't you? My husband is so sweet he said nothing back but we pay a lot of money for this service due to the size of our yard and it should be improving by now! The last time we had them come back out to do a retreat they burned our lawn pretty bad in spots on purpose maybe? read more

They send out mass letters multiple times a month and refuse to stop when asked. It is wasteful. When I called about it the guy said that's how everyone advertises, wish we could stop but what can we do? When I politely suggested that the company does just that, stop sending them, he hung up on me. For a lawn company they certainly don't care about the environment. read more

I have literally called 6-8 times requesting a service that was supposed to be taken care of all last summer. My side yard was left dead and patchy come September, It was neglected all last summer. Seeing as I travel a lot for work, I hadn't paid too much attention. That being said we settled on an overseed in the fall, and spring the fix the problem. Not only did I have to call 6-8 times to get them out here, they have now charged me for the services, that we have agreed I would not be charged for. Extremely disappointed. I can no longer continue my services with Trugreen. The communication between the office and technicians is awful. The only good thing is that DAVE and the Elyria office offered his personal number if I have any questions, because I am beside myself on why this is such a problem. read more

Called looking for snow removal service. Guy took my phone number ("you get texts?"), address, full name, email, and then tells me to "go to Google and search for 'landscape services'." Uhh... what? Seriously? Gimme a break. read more

This is the worst lawn care company you can hire. They pretty much killed a third of my grass and addressed ny issues I called them about. I'll go back to doing it myself. read more

I absolutely had the worst experience i have ever had with any organization. I prepaid for an entire year and they started billing me i called and questioned the bill and they said i had paid for something different than i signed up for the customer service lady explained that she would Review the calls so as to confirm my truthfulness at that point i severed the business relationship. I dont need to beg anyone to pay them money nor do i need to feel that i have to prove what was sold to me. Be aware and get it in writing if you do business with these people and tell them to not sell your name to other marketing companies because lawncare and home insulation are different read more

Their service is acceptable when hired for a lawn program and possibly other services. We've used them in the past for lawn care service and have been satisfied. However. we hired them last year for an aeration and seeding service. They came out and did a good job best I can tell. This year, they came out again for the same service which I did not authorize. Beware to any one-time TruGreen customers; they may have buried language somewhere stipulating it's a repeat service and you have to cancel. Read everything. They discounted the unwanted service to our satisfaction but I am not happy with a company who is not forthcoming with automatic reoccurring service forcing you to call and complain. To me, that is shoddy business practices and things like this can be the cause of class action suits related to these practices. I will avoid them in the future due to this method of doing business. read more

Five stars for my TruGreen lawn service! I receive an automated phone call to let me know each time the specialist will be at my home, which is very helpful. Even if I'm not at home for the service, I'm provided with an invoice hanging on my door and tips to help my lawn. Since starting with TruGreen, my lawn has improved ten-fold! I had a lot of problems with my front lawn looking healthy and green throughout the summer, but after two years, my problem seems to have been solved. They've done a great job at weed control, too. Good customer service. read more

I have tried to cancel their service since June. I caught them trying to do my lawn in August and stop the guy before doing my lawn and called them again to cancel. Then this morning I caught him after doing my lawn and had to call them again. They called in August wanting to know why we stopped the service and I explained to them because in June they charged me for a service I did not want. $100! A restraining order will be next. read more
